legit video dude. good advice on the ECU relearning. Lot of mechanics won't tell a customer that or they don't know about it themselves for this make and model. loved the rollercoaster camera work too, lol.
I attest to the dirty TB causing a surge and stall when cold. In 2013 I spent 10 hours over a few months systematically logging sensors and diagnosing finding nothing but erratic vacuum. It was a slightly carbonized TB. (05 maz3 2.0)
Ok i hope you see this so i have a 2012 speed3 and I’m having a hard start and rough idle problem dealer said it was just a bad battery they replaced it and it didn’t help i put Lucas injector cleaner in and so far no change could this be my issue!!!
I imagine it would be very similar. If you are having this similar issue, i certainly would try it first before dealing with dealerships or someone "troubleshooting" . Dirty throttle bodies and intake manifolds/runners/valves cause plenty of issues for MANY diffrrent car makes and models. But ECU system relearn is necessary for the vast majority. And most of the ecu are self learning these days, but early OBD 2 models may need a standard version. Like in this video.
Its a Ford part (throttle body). Volvos have the same problem since they use Ford throttle bodies too. The venturi is edge driven. So the edge is important to clean. It may look clean but if the edge is gummed over it will idle like poop. Ford parts are the problems with Mazda. The Mazda portion of Mazda is A-OK. Its good that Mazda is apart from Ford now.
AWESOME. Thanks for putting this up, man. Even better, thanks for making it fun. Haha. One thing I wonder: Is it safe to clean the MAF? I've heard on a slew of forums that these MAFs are crazy sensitive and the slightest lil hair can throw them off. Doesn't help that the harness going to the MAF tends to go bad too.
Jj Fatts ive never had an issue. The maf cleaner i used in the video. Ive used on hundreds of cars and have Never had an issue or comeback. If it is something like throttle body cleaner or brake cleaner sure. It wasnt designed to clean delicate resistors. So likely most of those who wont admit, but thats probably what they did. Ive done it on fords to mercedes amd around the rest of the auto rings and again. Zero issues. The computer always needs to relearn minute things, and the battery must be disconnected. And im glad you enjoyed it :)
Jj Fatts no, just the throttle body and intake mouth. And CRC Mass Airflow Cleaner Silver can Best stuff ive ever used. Other ones i felt didnt do well. CRC dissolves and evaporates asap.

drunknmunky90 thanks! I'm looking forward to a good one
Great video, just accomplished this and I've never done any work on a car before. If I did it anyone can. Thx for the vid bro
Im glad it helped!

Yes very much so could be. How many miles.?
Great video thank you!
Is the throttle body relearn the same procedure for a 2006 mazda 3 DOHC ?

GOOD TO KNOW. Maybe I'll suck it up and give it a true. You used B-12 on the MAF too?
Jj Fatts no, just the throttle body and intake mouth.

Sweet! Just stopped at auto parts store to get a new gasket for the throttle body. Will grab the B12 too. Thanks again, man.
Jj Fatts remember, dont clean the maf with B12.
Use Crc Maf cleaner
HI
I wanted to watch you clean it not stare at your face the whole time.
I will do a video in the future of a naked throttle body of a car.
Camera skills are atrocious
