TunerCarFan I've got an '09 too and love it but the sound system isn't that great (I transferred my speakers, subs, and amps from my old vehicle, it blows most everything out of the water). The thing I love about my Mazda is that after having had a 4x4 truck it, I gotta say it does absolutely amazing in the snow when you turn off DSC and put it into manual mode,

Just got a secondhand Mazda 1.6L V 2007. At it's 82k mileage which is fantastic! Exterior and interior is superb! I really want to meet the original owner to give my appreciation!
I've had a 3 since 2007 and it runs great. Did a two week, 3k-mile road trip in it last May from FL to Memphis, Louisville, Chicago, Wisconsin, Iowa, Arkansas, Missippi and a couple other states I don't remember. Ran like a champ even when I had to take a detour on a dirt road that looked like it hadn't been maintained since Noah's Flood. Love my car, even with its quirks. And I'm fond of telling people a Mazda is just a Ford that runs.
This video was actually quite helpful when I test drove a Mazda 3 because it show'd me how to change region settings (like to Celsius, like the rest of the world uses) and to test speakers, check compartments, check signal strength, check if anything was stuck in the hand brake. So it helped me decide to buy my 2007 Mazda 3. Thanks!
The original title of the video was "How to annoy a Mazda3 owner", and it turns out most viewers did get annoyed. I later changed the title to something less likely to cause complaints.
@@ethancooley9323and I just drove mine for 150km on a damaged battery just on an alternator, scared I’ll destroy electrical components but I arrived just fine in the night. Amazing car.

I recently bought a Mazda 3 sport as a daily driver to keep miles off my Infinitis and I was looking for audio upgrade videos and found this one. Small world when it comes to the internet I see.
There is also a cassette player for the Mazda3 but it is extremely rare. It goes in the space between the knobs that says "Multi Function Audio System." Behind that panel is a blank space for either the cassette player or MiniDisc player (even more rare!) accessory.
It never ceased to amaze me that people watch a video called "How to annoy a Mazda3 owner", and then complain because they get annoyed by it! Isn't that the whole point!?
I have been watching YT for years now. I have never laughed at a video like this in a long time. The amount of comments is astounding. All about a Mazda 3.
The Celsius to Fahrenheit button combination doesn't seem to work for Australia/New Zealand Mazda3 models for some reason. Most of the other hidden features work though...
Funny stuff, thanks. The MOST annoying thing about my '08 3 is changing the oil. The cutout in the under plastic panel doesn't match the position of the oil filter. So, you have to drop the entire tray to take the filter off. Stinks for a car of this caliber. I had to rectify it myself with my trusty Dremel tool. Loosing and breaking some clips and screws in the process.
Had mine done qt the dealer while the car was in for a recall.. because fck crawling around under the glovebox and breaking/shorting out the sensor, some stealership mechanic got to experience that bit of "fun".
I miss my Mazda3. I miss the orange glow, the way those lights move when you change the volume, I miss its styling, its interior colours, its sportyness... Some guy drove into the back of me and it got written off. I have a Tribute now, so I have a lot more head room and a better seat, but it's not the same.
Neat trick with the RF signal meter. I'll have to keep that in mind. I'm a broadcast engineer and sometimes it'd be nice for me to know whether or not one of my stations is coming in wonky because tropospheric ducting is making another station come in on top of it, or if I'm just plain too far away. My 6 probably has the same diagnostic options tucked away in there.
I am american, mine is a manual and I read out 24 hours on my watch. I don't really use celsius but I know roughly the equivalents. I'm not stupid. I'm also texan though not just american. Yes texas is a country. Lol

Yes, a lot of modern car radios have these diagnostic features. I just wish there was some way to adjust the stereo blend; this radio plays most FM stations in mono (even when the "ST" is lit) unless the signal is very, very strong. On my VW's radio I found a trimmer on the back to adjust it, and I turned it all the way down so that even weak FM stations play in stereo.
I have a 2008 Mazda 3, with a 2.3L engine. In addition to the Ford markings on the dipstick, I also found it on the fuse box under the glove compartment. Two big annoyances for me are the difficulty in replacing the cabin filters and the PCV valve. I can just remove the filters and not replace them, but I'll almost certainly be paying a mechanic to change the PCV valve.
I've lost so many things in the extra large glove compartment (Also fun fact, the Ford actually licensed their Duratec from the Mazda one!) (Also it's always the FoMoCo parts that break lol)
@TheYoooth When it starts pouring rain (like it did in this video) and you need to close your car's windows quickly, then yes, needing to find, insert, and turn your ignition key is an unnecessary annoyance and delay. It would be much better if all cars with power windows let you open or close all the windows simply by holding the key in the unlock or lock position in the driver's door, like you can do on Volkswagens, but most other brands do not have this feature.
Mazda and ford have worked together for years... its not like anyone tried to hide that fact. Ford had a 33% stake in the company. For example a ford ranger is simply a mazda b3000 and vice versa. However, ford no longer owns that 33% and mazdas are now 100% manufactured, assembled, and shipped from japan.
Haha, now I really want to get a Mazda3 when I get my licence. The things that I don't understand are the features where all the indicators on the radio come on, and the alternating speaker thing.
I like the Versa. For the price you can't beat the amount of interior room it has. I drove one of the $9990 base models and was really impressed. It's tuned more for comfort than sportiness, but still not a bad ride -- better than a Corolla or Cobalt, that's for sure. The Mazda3 is based on the same platform as the Volvo S40 and European Ford Focus, and you can really feel the Euro influence in the way it drives, compared to Mazda's previous Japanese engineered models.
The radio in my 2011 Mazda2 has the same signal strength meter by holding down the power button + the 2 preset, so it probably works on a lot of Mazda radios.

Although my 2009 is by far the WORST car I've ever owned for winter driving, (Ohio) it has been one of the BEST as far as being trouble-free. 30-40 MPG, cheap to insure, can hold its own on the highway, everything still works, no major failures (yet). Just change the oil and do routine maintenance, and it's good as gold.
@TheYoooth If all cars had power windows as good as Volkswagen, then I would not be complaining. In addition to the open/close via driver's door key feature I mentioned, VW also gives you auto-down on all four windows, and 15 minutes of retained accessory power after you turn off the ignition. Mazda and most other brands only give you auto-up/down on the driver's window, and only about 30 seconds of retained accessory power (again, for the driver's window only).

Ford and Mazda share parts, just like many other manufacturers. GM has had many partnerships with Toyota for instance, Toyota sold the Chevy Cavalier as a Toyota in Japan, and GM sold the Toyota Matrix as a Pontiac Vibe in America. The Mazda 3 and Ford Focus share many things, and you can spot Ford parts such as window swithces and radios in even Land Rovers and Jaguars (until recent years when they sold them off)

Man this video's funny, keep practicing and you could be a great comedian, I laughed a lot during the video, but seriously, are those "features" on the car stereo just supposed to be there or are they software glitches? I'm talking about things like the display elements and locking the keypad, the temperature and clock display functions are of course useful. I love your description of driving the car at a speed that causes coins to fall into the break lever well, that's harsh but funny.
@bbishoppcm So far it's been very good to me. I compared the Mazda3 to many other cars in its class and the only one which was nearly as fun to drive was the Ford Focus -- as you'd except, since the Focus and Mazda3 use the same engine and a very similar chassis. I still love VWs, too, but the new ones are a bit above my price range.

His first 2 annoyances are just things I would do, 24 hour clock and Celsius are far superior
@KIERANS1993 Yes... I lick the other side of the stamp.
I have this car. But it says blinking "CODE" so how do I reset that? I can't use the radio...
Dude the glove compartment is def big af lol
I took out the stock stereo but if i still had it in I would do this while my GF drove! this is too good!
My 2011 Mazda2 has power windows, but they do not operate with the key like that. Also only the driver's window has auto up/down.
It's not driving a 3 that makes you gay, it's the fact that you are listening to the Bangles...
