"If it's not pointless, what's the point?" This. I come for the fossils but stay for the philosophy. Phossilophy? I dunno...
Love you guys, thanks for bringing us along!

I'm so glad you made it back! And yes you and Alexis make a good team! That's why you guys are getting married! You know each other so well! Lol! You guys got so many fish! And that coprolite was huge! What the heck made that? Let's just hope it's still in the rock you were going to prep at home! Awesome time at American fossil and even more fun once you get it home and set them out and can take your time prepping them! So cool! Thanks Theo and Alexis!

When Theo says crumbly...it means they are like slighlty soggy graham crackers and you so much move them the wrong way - they break.
    I wanna go back!

WOW! You and Alexis had a great day! I'm very impressed with your knowledge of fossil fish! The ones in the video are great looking. Can't wait to see them when they are prepared! I think I like the biggest one because it has the most detail.

Nice finds and a great day of fishing! Once you have them dry and prepped, do you use any kind of sealer or preservative on them?

Question- where would be good place for us being Disabled Seniors to Rockhound for those Beautiful Creations? We will be Driving toward Tennesse. Would you recommend a good Rock Shop to Visit.

Did you do the private day dig, or the regular? We have a 6 person group so looking at the private day dig option for next year. It looks like better pickings than the regular dig we did this year. Have you done both options, and how do they compare?

How do you go about getting to dig here? Is it open to the public or do you need a permit?
    Thanks, Will

    Yo,
Go about half way up - heading south, off the Stillwater Highway - Midnight Canyon.
Go west, off the road, up up onto the bench, west alonf the valley.
You'll find fossils, and petrified wood, evetywhere.
Take MSU students and Instructors with you.
    And,
While doing scuba, for Search and Rescue - long ago - I found myself, in a submerged - ancient (Ancient!!!) forest, of standing trees... (All leaning the same. [An "Axe-man" Crew Chief observation.]...
... Once buried deep in seasonable flood sediments...
    ... (Layers, 30 - 40ft deep, to roots..!..?).
... It got exposed - again - as the river changed course - channels, and cut deep deep.
... I was right at 30ft bottom - altitude measure.
... Like what I was seeing while working..
.... With long - fat - straight trees all around... Thick....
But, with tops broken off, at the water-air line.
... In cold water... But... Warming!!!!!!!!!!!
    It needs to be researched...
    ... Good divers, scientists, tech...
... Mid - late August... Low water... Safer...
    Anyway,
    I trust my gut...
And, all this I write of, has $$$ potential.
... Even, if only, for funding your "hobbies."
... However, I see far more than only "hobby", here.
    Thanks.
Oh, and theres other stuff you will like seeing, and place to hear about... That, too, need research... Bigtime!
    If only, for fun.
Oh, too... Important rope tricks, that I need some pro- help, to get on tape, for folks to learn and use... Even - especially - kids.
... I feel you would be very good at seeing it through... At least, on some of it.
... If only, to get me connected with good folks, wholl give it proper professional action.
... If only, for huge smiles, as you realize what it is, you're a part of... Discovery...
This from before, or just after Ice Age.
Oh, and, there are other people, who will help.
I'm getting too old, broke, broken, and worn out.
I'd like knowing, it happened... Finally.
And, youll be working moreso - with my little-Sis.... Smart "kid." Lol.
... She grew up with our Dad...(Mines).
I may be able to get CDC, from LA Harbor, to have some fun, too.
As I remember, I signed their Register, when I did the Commercial Diver Orientation...
    ... (Early March '76.)
    It was usable wood...
... And, i know where there's far more.
Yes! I am letting you sense the urgency.
    It needs a good team.
And, I figure, Word given... Word kept.
And, I've had 40+ yrs to ponder it.
    It needs professionals...
    ... champions.
    Even if "No."
    ... Thanks.
    Very cool.
    Semper Fidelis...
Oh, have you ever been to Glacier Park...?
