- This was my first time hunting in the great state of Alabama for fossils and minerals! We hunted for over 15 hours this day, well into the night for at least 3 totally different kind of fossils: marine shark teeth from the Cretaceous, petrified wood inside pyrite nodules and calamites (giant horsetail-like plants) from the Carboniferous period! It was a great start for Alabama and I suspect we will be spending a ton more time here in the future, exploring all the fun things the state has to offer that cannot be found down in Florida!

Just did a big shop update on my website at paleocris.com/shop! 15% off EVERYTHING with code "WEAREBACK" because, uh...We're finally back. 😁 Sorry about the delay, but occasionally unplugging from technology can be incredibly healthy for the soul. Love you guys and I hope you're ready for some crazy adventures coming up soon!
Thanks Gal & guy's awesome finds 👍
Where in Alabama is that, I live in Alabama and I haven't seen any crazy creeks in my area
I live in Alabama, I've found numerous fossils.
@@ThatMexican where do you live? I live in north Alabama. There are numerous creek's and lake's.
Your channel is doing great things but your filming is horrendous and very difficult to watch. You need to focus on keeping the camera as steady as is possible and stop bouncing it all around. If you can master the filming part, your channel will grow expediential.
Glad to see y’all!! This kind of friend group is something I strive for in my future, you’re all inspirations :D
Hello Bree, Chris and Kyle, Derick so good to see you all together again I hope this adventure brings us lots of fossils and a lot of interesting treasures❤❤
I've been waiting for the PaleoCris version of this trip. It's great when you are all together because we get twice as much of your crazy adventures!
I live in North Alabama, I have D.H.R placed Babie's 3 for now. Two little Boy's , we've made our's permanently. They are all Autistic with serious medical issue's. One little one is Non-verbal, his immune system is out of whack, he has a chromosome seriously out of sequence. His brother is verbal he has Epilepsy and Brain tumors. The little girl is also dyslexic. They love and collect Native American Artifact's, neolithic bird points, fossil's, dinosaur bone, shark teeth, pottery, agate's, crinoids, ammonites, crystal's, and they love all gemstones , especially opal's. We stumbled across your channel and my Babies absolutely love y'all!
Make sure to tell all of them that Bri and I said hello to each of them and that we really appreciate them watching our videos!
Dang! Why don't you guys take groups of people out with you? I would pay for a trip like that.
WOW, did you even read what I said? I didn't think or say he was doing it for the money or that money was all it was about...
Book my trip
Where r y’all at in Alabama ?
Can you imagine the sheer amount of destruction it would create in places like this if they took outsiders with them?
I wouldn't take or tell anyone where I went to hunt fossils, word gets out and people destroy it.
On bruh
It's mind-blowing that you can see cousins of those enormous horsetail fossils still growing today over 200 million years later. Also - the dinosaur claw, we'll need an update on that - excited to see if you can narrow it down to a genus.
Congratulations on your first Horsetail fossils Chris ! That was an epic and fun adventure with the crew. Love your group hunts and the finds were awesome. Best regards and wishes to all of you !
I hope Kyle kept the pineapple fossil, that was pretty funny. I know there not but those pyrites sure look like turds, but I love the pyrite around the pieces of wood. green undies.
Always here for this dynamic duo.
Your trips just get better and better! Such terrific finds from everybody!!
Haven't watched in awhile. Very interesting finds! Believe in Texas some guys do the river walk and find quite large ammonites. On u-tube. From shark teeth to horse tails. The size difference from todays quite different. Nice video, appreciate your sharing. 👍👍👍
Don't leave us this long again :( , Great to see you back and all happy!
I wonder if you could polish the pyrite like a cabochon and either have the squares be naturally distinct or even acid treat it to bring out the pattern.
So glad yall are back!!! Amazing finds! Bre is such a good charm! Lol
Thanks for inviting us along
The little crow shark tooth looks killer. It looks like someone combined a razor blade and a saw. Brie is a shark tooth magnet! Great finds, guys ‘n’ gal! I wish I could join you, but I’m fighting two wasting diseases and can no longer get out. So, I’m living vicariously through your videos. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your energetic youth!
Oh my gosh, you three are so fun to watch! I miss collecting those on the east coast. Kyle was cracking me up, in the beginning, when he was trying to swat your hands down while you were talking. LoL
Me and my husband just got back from a trip to fort clinch and myrtle beach and only found a few teeth from the fort but were totally shocked at how many we found at myrtle just walking the beach. I haven't gotten to id them all yet but there were a few of the nice crow like you found and a ton of sand tigers and one really awesome great white and so many more yet to be identified I'm pretty new to it still and some just look really similar to me. Great video I love the pure joy in every find
A little overwhelming to say the least So many treasures from so long ago. Amazing thank you for sharing the places, your finds and your knowledge.
Glad to see you guys together sgain! Thank you!!!❤
I have horse tail plants growing in an area where there is underground water. I find it fascinating that they are related to million year old trees. I was with you all every step of the way.❤❤❤
I found my first pineapple fossil 5 years ago... still one of my favorit finds 🍍❤️
I found a Baleen whale with a shark tooth stuck in a rib bone. Gotta love those great once in a decade finds!
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
@@Daniel12.4Ministryhow cool!!!!
We missed you
I love all the sharks teeth and pyrite on petrified wood.
You guys always find the best spots! What a fun hunt! Please post more!
If yall ever make it around Oklahoma I'd be thrilled to take yall hunting for ammonites and trilobites
I love you guys always so excited ! Such fun to watch ❤😂❤
Watching your videos is always an adventure....what a day you all had, I would have been in my element. Love to you all from the UK 💕💕💕
Really great finds, Cris! You guys always work so well together.
Wow!!!!love this stuff… your joy is overflowing and contagious!!!!
I saw these strange plants on the roadside near Neskowin, OR. I don’t know how to post photos in a comment. They are horsetails. I failed to note their exact location, so I am hoping to find the mature stages. You can see the sections on these small contemporary horsetails. I’m a native of Alabama. I’ve been around creeks like you are on up in North Alabama, picked up crinoid stem fragments, but had no idea what they were.
That flowered tree is a Dogwood, my favorite! Hybrids are pink!
For some reason I was making Kyle puns all the time while watching the video - Kyle style in the beginning, the Kyle pile while collecting shark teeth, the first Calamite hefound was a Kylamite, ...
Great video! Love the enthusiasm!
For the big rocks you should make a bunch of photos from different angles so you can use those photos to make a photogrammetry scan for a digital 3d model.
Just watched the video and it brought back some good memories. You were finding the same types of fossils I used the find on my grandparents farm in NW Alabama many, many years ago including the pyrite nodules. I assume it’s that same layer on ancient seabed in that area. Very cool! Thanks!
Thank you for posting this. I just moved to SE Alabama. The teeny tiny teeth are my favorite 😍
WOW WOW WOW Guys how exciting and a awesome way to spend time doing what you love . From Australia
Good to see you back. Great video
Thank you!
Awesome trip. I really enjoyed this one. You have so much fun.
Glad to see your uploading, just love your adventures!
Love your videos. I'm in South Mississippi and my son and I are always finding new creeks to fossil hunt for. So far haven't had nearly as much luck! You're living the dream. :) PS: They're pretty, but Bradford Pears are pretty invasive. And usually smelly.
I love the night adventure. Ghost flowers!
Being for north Alabama I would see all sorts of cool stuff, but I wasn’t into Rockhounding back then. I just looked for Artifacts which are everywhere down there. It wasn’t until after moved to Indiana that I got into hounding.
I’m going to bring my gear with me the next time I go down. Should be a blast.
Awesome video guys!can't wait for the next one.
good finding brother
Doing stuff like this is one of my dreams 😭
Excellent video Cris 👍 Great to see all the gang out fossil hunting again 👍
For PaleoChris:
Babe Magrath : I don't know what's happening to Lenny.
Meg Magrath : What do you mean?
Babe Magrath : Well, she's turned into old grandmama.
Meg Magrath : You think so?
Babe Magrath : [looking at Lenny out in the garden] Well more and more. Look there. She's even taken to wearing old grandmama's torn sun hat and her lime green garden gloves. Lenny works out in the garden wearing the lime green gloves of a dead woman.

What people do with the 🦷 tooth ? And how come the shark tooth is in the creek? Thanks
Like to see some of finds cleaned up in another video.
We have several coal measures deposits here in Iowa.I know of one place where you can unearth not only Calimites sp., but large sections of Lepidodendrons and realated species, some up to several feet long.Thare are mounds of Missippian age fossils thera also, which is the overburden. These contain trilobites, along with many orther fossil types.
There has to be millions of teeth there. What a great place ❤
Nice finds! I hunt cretaceous spots, and you found mostly goblin shark teeth, an extinct species of sand tiger, squalocorax shark teeth, and what I believe (though I am not sure) are some species of otodus? Awesome to see another super cool video!
Thats awesome. I used to gather modern day horse tail or what we call bullrushes from a site in Ohio. So these fossils are awesome.
What part of Alabama are you finding these wonderful pieces?
So jealous! If I lived near that place I would be out there every day!
Cool little ptychodus tooth at about 25:20.
I miss South Jax bch and pirates cove. I spent hours upon hours finding cool stuff. I moved away and want to go back.
I'm at the part where you go for lunch and I'm hoping for something other than shark teeth. (Not my thing) but I see that you do find something different. Still watching! I love your videos!!
Honestly, shark teeth really aren’t my thing that much either. Nice ones are fun to find, but they are still just fish teeth. Not nearly as cool as tons of other types of fossils.
How would I go about looking for fossils in limestone here in Kansas? Should I focus on the base of limestone areas or would waterways be more likely to have visible targets?
What an awesome trip!
2:15 u can still see its eyeball even after millions of years in rock
Nice coloration on the crow shark!
Soooo awesome- thank you sooooo much for this outstanding and unique content!!!
Thank you very much for watching! 😁
i love those fosiels glad your back😀👌
love the excitement! reminds me to keep hunting lol
You guys wouldn't happen to be on the Locust Fork River, would you? Its an old stomping ground of mine where you could find Fossils and in a couple of locations arrowheads.
I've missed you guys!
Where did y’all meet? I don’t have any friends that are very enthusiastic about fossils. I’d like to find someone to go fossil hunting!
The coolest type of hunting!
I know exactly where you were! My favorite echinoid location! Glad you found it.
What river is this? I live in alabama
I would love to take my family. We often go to different places in Alabama. We live in TN few miles from the state line. If you want you can private message me the location
Catoma Creek, SW Montgomery, AL . Tread lightly, enjoy
There is a place in SW Wisconsin there is t tons of petrified coral. All kinds of fossils to be found.
From north alabama and was wondering what part you're in this video ?
Have you checked out wm browning cretaceous park in baldwyn County mississippi? Lots of shark teeth there
I have fun with you guys , I love to looking for fossils
Question ,I've found old stones with what looks like old burned tree roots or etc encased in it.what is that ?.
Awesome video, as usual!
Nice to see you, Kyle and Lara Croft out and about!
Wait is that Catomo Creek? I used to go Fossil Hunting there decades ago when I was a student at Auburn University.
You guys should be aware that the Alabama Cottonmouth snake is commonly found around water. They can be very aggressive and are poisonous. We here in Bama call them water moccasins.
Very cool guys !
I live in Alabama and I can't ever find anything this cool 😢
КЛАССНО!!! Особенно ночная охота на каламитов!)))
Great video. Your singing voice sound so different from your talking voice ☺️
Gawna put The Toothfairy outta job 👍🏴
Thats some crazy fun..😂
Glad you had down time! :-)
Pick up all those brass shell casings you can sell those
Where is this located in Alabama?
34:12 The Ornamental Pear you saw there is a Cum Tree! They are grown really commonly here in Melbourne, Australia along streets and look great when blossoming. Only thing is they have a terrible stench like rotten fish or, and this is what they're known for here, semen.
They are also invasive . One of the worse human's mistake
Been missing you all, but been missing Bree more.
😊
Nice finds!
Where is this if you dont mind telling me. Im in Alabama too and i know a place deep in the woods where there is a waterfall, caves, and a TON of fossils if you are interested.
How come the sharks tooth looked like it was gray and not like others you find in sandy soil
I live in Alabama. Are y’all in upper or lower Alabama? This is really cool.
4:37 In that case I got a bunch of goblins sharks teeth fossils.😊
Great video I wish I was there!
* WOW ~ Those are ancestors of "Joint Grass" of today [common name of "Horsetail" ~ ~ We would grab a handful of them to scrub our eating pots & plates, etc.. Never would have guessed.. Cool..
You are in Alabama, is it a surprise. Watch out for riflespointed in your direction.😊you all have good eyesight. Why would there be so many in the same area?
Greetings from the BIG SKY
I reckon with a lapidary saw some frigging sweet sets of coasters could be made w some of dem fattie-boi calamites!
This river will be ravaged by people after this video. I still love the video. Just found your channel.
The only people who will recognize it already know of it. That’s why we don’t give names of sites.
@@PaleoCrisCan you say what county this was?
I found an about palm sized nice ammonite at a rock and gem show
