I remember 2 episodes of candid camera, this one and the engineless car that rolls into a petrol station. So long ago and I was a teenager back then. Peter Dulay was brilliant 👏
Thanks so much for posting this! I've been wanting to see this again for around 50 years, since I first saw it as a pre-teen. I always remembered the stunned surprise of the guy seeing the same man several floors up. "What are you doing here?" (ROFL. Genius!) The other sketch I remember, and would love to see again, is the one where the car goes into the garage with no engine, Hope you have that one. Anyway, many thanks again for posting this and enabling me to view this whole brilliant sketch once again!
Glad you enjoyed it. I am releasing a Candid Camera Classic every Tuesday (until August 2024) - Car Without An Engine (and a follow up) is scheduled for May 2024. Sorry for the long wait though 😉
You know, sometimes I’m sure there is a team of hundreds of thousands of people doing this to me. They move my car in the supermarket car park. They sneak in my house and move single socks, sabotage my sat nav, change exits on motorways, make sure I pick a losing scratch card, and worse of all manoeuvred me into living with a woman who hates me, the bastards. All for a laugh.
Interesting how he did not question that fact as long as he questionned the fact not being able to get to floor 2. The fact the same person was sitting there should have been far more intriguing than not getting to the floor he wants. I'm impressed.
Yes...and also a floor three and a half...and two eighths, and other fractions. And the old guy could just say that the lift is only partially working in those cases, so you've only got to a partial floor, in between the other floors. 😂
I live in a block of flats with 4 storeys. No flats on the ground floor, 100’s on floor 1, 200’s on floor 2 etc. One day a chavvy girl said “Oi...where’s room 217?” I said “5th floor love.” After about 20 mins she was back in the lobby saying there is no 5th floor. I replied “Omg...someone stole it??” ...& she fucked off mumbling that the world was full of wankers or something 😂
@@kirkhamandy Oh. I have not seen it. I did try to look for it but it was "ring for trouble" and when someone did, the table collapsed lol. I'll try looking again lol
Excellent idea! The old boy sitting down, how he kept a straight face, I don't know and the guy in on the prank at the end, how he did not get a punch, I do not know. Great programme.
In answer to your question OneStopView - yes he did get to watch himself on TV. My mother was friends with his wife ! He was called Harry and he was a London Taxi Driver. You can just see his green badge if you look carefully. A really great guy and a terrific sport.
Fabulous, there are few things that make me laugh out loud but this certainly does ... Love the nostalgic feel of it too, is this from 1974 or the 1976 series? Plus the young guy who ran around with the scenery was nice ... He must be in his mid sixties now!
Wait, did he turn around and not go to the stairs because the man told him, " there are no stairs in this building"??😂🤣 Yeah that's safe, a three-story building without stairs 😂
Thanks for the PM - OneStopView. I notice that some other posters seem to think he (Harry) was an actor. I can assure them he was not an actor ! A chap hailed his cab in the street and asked him to deliver an item which he then tried to do ! It was not an uncommon request in the days before cycle couriers etc. He (Harry the cabbie) was a really nice man.
Have you got the episode where there are 2 office managers having a massive row during a meeting and on the verge of coming to blows when suddenly 2 naked secretaries walk in with notepads to take minutes? The expression on their faces was priceless!!!
In the second part, the same GUY was sitting there on floor 1 and 3 and the guy didn't question that very long. The thing with the plant is a good example for how selective we perceive reality. There's a very high probability nobody (and with nobody I mean VERY LITTLE PEOPLE) will even see the plant at all.
com edy Simply the best, better than all the rest. No one in the 🌎 world, is better at reality shows and documentaries, than the Brits.🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂Cheers and 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻beers mates!
Why the aggression towards the old chap with the newspaper? I wouldn't talk to the seemingly nice poor fella like that, especially when the matter is apparently completely unconnected to him. Hhhmm, 3:10 is very suspicious behavior. Either he's an outright actor, or he's a genuine punter who agreed to do a little pick up shot for them after the event. And it does happen. I've seen a clip from Beadle's About where some woman 100% definitely recorded a short sequence after the actual prank, then they edited it in as though it were a genuine moment.
After the reveal they sometimes ask people to recreate a scene, it quite a common thing in media. In this instance people would not move outside the lifts when on Wrong floor, just as we wouldn’t if we genuinely pressed the wrong button. So after the reveal they would say e.g. can you just recreate walking out and in again.
guy in the blue was clearly an actor. if they wanted us to believe he was just somebody off the street they shouldn't have hired the guy from the 3 stooges. lol
I wish you would show old funny gag.these people walk into a supermarket.the floor tiles stick to their feet.it so funny.do you have that one.im big fan of candid camera.
Please note that I will sharing some very rare UK Candid Camera pranks weekly on my channel over the next few months. Please subscribe and enjoy 😊🎥
One of the best. The man playing the part of the clueless nitwit is genius. Could watch him all day!
He's absolutely classic!
He's become a cult hero for my son and I. Watch him in the boarding house club. " Who is he?".
I remember this 50 years ago. I am OLD.😂
Me also I'm 67
I remember 2 episodes of candid camera, this one and the engineless car that rolls into a petrol station. So long ago and I was a teenager back then. Peter Dulay was brilliant 👏
The old boy who was sitting on the seat every time the door opens. Was an absolute pro antagonist, with just press the number 2 button suggestion.
Alea actiest Good suggestion. He should have pressed 2 to go to 2 obviously
The last man was absolutely fantastic, and many years ago, I can still see my Dad crying laughing at this episode. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Kerry Smith
Unfortunately, both my Dad and the man have passed.
This was brilliant! His reaction at the end "let me know when it's on!"
I am sorry to hear that! X
@@tomhaskett5161 ,hahaha!
Love this in 2024 - this never gets old.
I love when people enjoyed to be pranked. Unexpected happiness amid stressful life teaches you that life is to mean for enjoyment 😊
Well, pranks had more warmheartedness at that time.
This is the absolute pentacle of prankster artistry. The accents make it even funnier.

That engine sketch is up and twice, but i would love if they rather put 7 or 8 not 1 again lol
But it works for me too hehe
Question from man who says:what are doing would be:how did you get up here so fast i quess hihi about that 7-8 floor sugestion rather than put 1 again
The funniest parts were the man sitting down responses 😂😂😂
I like how they change the appearance of the floors each time just to add to the confusion.
😂😂 crewmen are working like they are at the racing tracks 😂😂
Pit crew 😂
Love these old clips. Crazy to think young kids think youtubers thought all these up.
It seems alot of todays youth think time just started the day they were born.
Yep, old people thought of everything...
the Sumerians were dab hands at it, and the ancient Egyptians
I remember watching these in the sixties, all good harmless fun. A generation ago! Wow, how the world has changed 🙃
I hate to tell you this, Mongo, but that's TWO generations ago. 😲
The old ones are the best!!
for sure!love the old ones
Different generation. They didn't have a naughty mindset like they do today. Today it's not funny unless it's demeaning or gross.
Are you dead?
obviously you don't mean 'people'
Don't knock the rock Fake
The old boy was a real good sport.
There has never been a greater need than the present, for good old British comedy like candy camera.
This is certainly giving me a lift during the coronavirus lockdown period.
Nice pun....
This is one of the funniest ones! Great reveal.
Le vecchie candid sono le migliori 👍
The bald guy came from 1st floor reading news paper and then magically went to 3rd floor. I thought the 2nd guy will figured that, hilarious.
Absolutely 1st Class, I imagine the first guys ending wasn't so humorous..
Look at the end how skilled the guy was keeping his victim facing the camera to see his reactions
I remember this Iive I couldn't stop laughing
Loved this, I wish thsi prog could be on again on a sat night, as it's so entertaining !
These never get old!

Same they always hide my wallet keys and cellphone
I know you’re joking but the sock thieves are nothing to hear about. Neither are those evil car movers.
Those guys will sometimes hide my eyeglasses on the top of my head!!
Chipchase that is funny 😂
Oh you've sussed us 😆
No stairs, governor.😅
"...three times, THREE times, and I can't GET to two!!"
He should've said "Yeah, if you press it 3 times you're going to end up at the third floor, try pressing it twice guvna." :)
The doors open up "im back again".. lol
LOL.."there's no stairs"

2nd chap seemed a bit of a comedy actor. Still they missed a trick at the end reveal, should of put a floor 56 sign up or something.
Or 22
2 story buildings should just have a "go" button inside the elevator. 🌞
they should have had a floor 7 and really confuse the guy especially if the building only had 3 floors
Yes...and also a floor three and a half...and two eighths, and other fractions.
And the old guy could just say that the lift is only partially working in those cases, so you've only got to a partial floor, in between the other floors. 😂
@@DUCKDUCKGOISMUCHBETTER yes would've been way better
@Cliff Moore 😂😂😂 That's a good one.
Too bad that's something that progress has deprived us of the mischievous pleasure of.

Awesome 👌👍🙏😎😆

Moving floors. Ultramodern technology idea.😂
I like to see a 13, the 13th floor in a 3 story building. (Insert Twilight Zone theme here.
This ones an absolute classic!!!

these are better than todays pranks
The second one looked like Shemp from the 3 Stooges 😅
Why do they get mad at the guy outside the elevator haha
He went from annoyed to nice :) nowdays you would get abuse lol
I think it would've been better if they both went in the lift at the end and went to level 2 without any issues.
Excellent idea! The old boy sitting down, how he kept a straight face, I don't know and the guy in on the prank at the end, how he did not get a punch, I do not know. Great programme.

Those two engineers really did some serious rock......ing science
I believe the original candy camera was the model for Mission Impossible!
this had me in tears
This is a funny bloody lift 🤣

You Can't beat the old ones
Why do they repeatedly describe their predicament to some bystander as if he could solve the problem THIS time?
And. The snooker ball coming out of the tv when the snooker was on the tv and the golf ball on the golf course !!
Thanks for the PM - OneStopView.

Arthur Creighton-Jones Fake
Lol. Reminds me of Abbot and Costello.
Every time I see one like this ... I think of Chris Farley in the "Coffee Switch" hidden camera commercial ... and what happened there ...
The older guys so funny

I do, but I don’t think that UA-cam would be too happy for me to share! I could edit and may well do so at some point.
Abraham's , that's the 2nd floor guv.
I remember this when it was first shown
That was a serious classic. That guy predated Allan Funt
4:52 that's the first time I've laughed out loud at a video for ages
1:01 "engineers"
I think they are more likely to be "imagineers"
WW2 survivors lived life and were grateful for it.. not like todays spoiled gneration.. im only 34 and i realise how easy we have it.
Complete nonsense of course.
Reminds me so much of Abbot and Costello. :)
the elevator does not move, the floors move lol
Good sportmanship
Why do 126 people not like this ? Must have pressed the wrong button 😄👍
That's the funniest thing I've ever seen! Lmfao
Great work, anyone of them still living?
The legend goes that the first person being pranked is still stuck on going back and forth between floors 1 and 3..
This makes me happy
sheer genius
Brilliant
I’m worried about those “building engineers” shaking away at the elevator cables while standing underneath it😬
The guy was a good sport. Good one!
People these days would have come out ready to fight someone. Crazy world we live in now. So much simpler back then. Those were the good ol days.
Yeah, apart from the WW1 and WW2 where people kill each other because of pride right? Oh wait....
LOL. That Was Nice.
Of course today the person would say "G*d, d*m f*cking elevator"...
Todays are so wrong.
Moral Police at it again.
