It's great that you let her pick her colors that way it really feels like her room. The piece looks great and definitely not an ugly duckling anymore.
Thank you Adriana! I have learned that by letting someone choose things without my input it actually teaches me about new styles that I also appreciate!
I love your little guy “helping”! It’s exactly how I paint with my little guys. And this turned out LOVELY!
having little helpers makes it way more interesting!!! thank you so much
I love how encouraging you are, Corey. Your kids have a great role model!
That is a color that my granddaughters would absolutely love! I think it looks okay with the wallpaper, too. No matter what, she likes it and she chose it herself. You grow, little one!
Thank you so much! and yes!! exactly!
Her wall paper is so pretty! She picked out my favorite color! I love it.
YAY! thank you Dee
Mother would call that lilac. She loved that color. So great her place is “hers”. She will always remember this color and the love you shared by honoring her wishes.
Fantastic Corey. I Love how your projects are a family affair. Your daughter knows what she wants. Fabulous. I'll be looking into your hardware too. 💕🌞
Thank you so much Elise! Missed you in the chat!
@@DesertDIY me too. Saw your notification but was busy at that moment. I'll be sure to finish watching the rest of the collaborations pick a favorite swan. I have trouble with my internet most times. ❄️⛄🌞💝
Good for your daughter being herself and choosing what she likes! It turned out so pretty and the glass knobs are perfect! So sweet of her older sister contributing to the makeover. 💕😁👍
I am so excited for you to have the baby here!!! Thank you so very much for setting up the UglyDuckling challenge. So awesome to see so many amazing furniture artist on one playlist!
The dresser turned out beautiful. When my daughter was that age she wanted to choose her own room make over. She choose wallpaper for the accent wall and the walls were that purple. She loved it and actually I did too! The room was that way until she left for college. Thanks Cory
Aww that is so sweet! Lavender purple is so versatile!
I had this exact unpainted dresser as a kid. My mom and i painted it cream colored then " antiqued" it with gold wood grain, along with an innocent nightstand and desk. The desk we have since restored. 1979 was a bad year to be furniture. But, 8 year old me was thrilled with my "matching suite" and ruffled bedspread and curtains!
Amazing! So glad you let her choose her own wallpaper and furniture color; it’s important for kids to have something that’s all their own. Great job, Cory and hubby!
It’s always a bonus when you find an otherwise perfect piece that just needs paint and pulls! Especially when you have your hands full with life
Thanks for sharing, I love that your family participates, repairing and reusing real wood furniture is a hugely valuable life skill in my opinion!
I love that you learn by trying, that's the best because you're working through challenges in real time. Your daughters room is turning out sooo pretty! All around gorgeous but the dresser 😍😍😍 Great color, it definitely works in the space and the hardware is so elegant. Definite Tinkerbell vibes! Thanks for hosting this challenge Cory! 🙌
I love the way the dresser turned out! And I love that you let your daughter make the choices for her room. I also thought it was sweet that her sister wanted to help with it.
I love the way you let your daughter design her room. This brings back wonderful memories of my dad painting my dresser & walls just the colors I chose ❤️
It's so sad when I see that people have distressed their piece of furniture to the point that is just ugly.
But they are so proud of their work. And you just smile at them
You did an amazing job Corey!
Watch the list it's all mid century modern, art deco, black chalk paint with gold accents. I just can't with the lemmings lol
You’ve done something outstanding and wonderful when you thought up this concept of the “ugly duckling challenge”. You turn on a big spot light and brought all these great talented individuals together under one umbrella, it seems, where all of us, the viewers can enjoy, take part, be surprised, entertained, comment and learn through these great restorationist “how to”. I am totally hooked as I know I’m just a little pebble among thousands upon thousands, if not millions who are enjoying this too. You’ve made many fans not only for yourself but for the many participants in this challenge. I could keep right on talking but I’ll leave it here by simply say, “Thank you🌹”.
Can’t wait to see all the transformations!
Great transformation. Love that you gave your daughter a choice to make her room. Love the color she chose. Thumbs up to all of you for a job well done.
Love the Little Guying "Helping" Next thing you know he'll be in college and you'll winder why the house is so quiet!!
I love the color of the makeover...hard to believe it is the same dresser. I can't wait t see when her room is complete!!!
So happy you challenge everybody. I’ve found new DIYers to watch.
I love these challenges. I get to watch a day with so many transformations.
Love how this came out! It coordinates so lovely with the wallpaper and bedspread. Winner fir sure!💖💖💖
Thank you Roshawnda!
its so pretty, love the colour and thanks again for hosting the challenge
That turned out so cute!!! I found with stick on wallpaper it also helps to scuff sand any semi gloss or gloss paint , the slicker paint doesn’t hold it as well.
My cousin’s daughter s bedroom had been painted by her mom, when she became a teen she of course wanted her own thing done. Her mom didn’t want to deal with it, so my cousin, her dad, asked her what did she want to do? , she said dad can I turn my big wall into a giant yearbook? He said he thought abt for a bit, and said u know it is just a wall and paint and we can paint over it when she’s older! She had the coolest looking wall with enlarged photos, she made paper frames for and tons of friends signed beside their pics and memories she put up!!! And her mom ended up liking it! Anyway I love letting kids have some freedom with creativeness!!! Bravo!!!
So pretty, Cory! I love the way you bring your family into your channel! What a blessing it is to be able to do what we love with and for the people we love!😍
oh the dresser is so pretty. I love the color and the hardware. Your daughter should be proud of the colors she picked. I love it!!💜
great advice as always Cory...love your videos, love the piece, and your daughter room looks fantastic ♥
Thank you so much! Excited to see everyone elses
Your right the color didn't match but truly goes together. Your daughter picked well her furniture color, and as for your little helper he'll be your biggest fan of all, I just love the way he keeps helping lol.
My bedroom was that color as a little girl and now my granddaughter chose it for her room. Must be timeless. Seems like there has been a change of plans in bedrooms at your home. I’m sure there will be a reveal at some point.
So cute!!!! Thanks for hosting the challenge!
Big props to your husband for all that sanding! That dresser was a monster to get ready!
Great that u let your daughter pick her color.. awesome job...
Nice work Cory!! Much improved and I love the sparkly nature of the knobs! :)
This is indeed a beautiful swan. You guys did a great job. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
It's very pretty, quite Tinkerbell.
I've been watching lots of the Ugly Duckling videos and really enjoying them. Thanks so much for the fun.
I just wanted to tell you that love that you do the Ugly Duckling Challenge.. it’s so much fun & I just love watching all the talented creators do a challenge with each other. I think it really brings a lot of us together. Thank you so much!!! You’re amazing. Your little girl has good taste & Im sure she is going to just love her new room 💜💜💜💜💜💜
My parents let me choose the color in my bedroom when they redid it. I was 7. I choose "Elephant pink", which was the most obnoxious bright pink imaginable. I loved it! I still remember that and I'm now in my 50's. It is wonderful when parents allow their children to make design decisions for their spaces. Too many channels and design shows show bedrooms in quiet nuetral colors, which may work for some kids, I suppose, but I've never met those children.
It looks beautiful. Nice job. I like the way you painted and waved a banner at the same time. Very talented.
What a blessing your hubby is for sure. Some men might say, nope, not doing that. My hubby is always willing, and very talented. It really is all about what our children might want, so you have the right attitude. She will love her room.
Love that color. It reminds me of one of my favorite fragrant flowers, the lilac.
What a cute color! I would've loved a dresser that color growing up. She is very lucky!
LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out!! I think even though the dresser is different from the wallpaper when all is done her room will be beautiful!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
what a great transformation, and ooh, i love that colour! and those glass pulls look magical & sparkly on that lavender!
Thank you Chris! I feel the same way!
I love the way the dresser turned out. It's so pretty. 😊
Beautiful work.. such a sweet start to this challenge
I love the color she choice can’t wait to see the rest of the room.
The dresser looks magnificent. I love it, I’m not a fan of purples but you scored on this one!
I love the way the dresser came out love the knobs
definitely got tinkerbell vibes, vast improvement, well done Corey and fam. Can't wait to see bubs xo
So pretty! I’m sure she’ll enjoy it for a long time. Thanks for putting this challenge together.
Thank you very much for challenging other DIY people to do over their ugly duckling furniture. It is so cool to meet others like this and see their projects. Thank you. Nice job!
The newest ugly duckling just went live. Go check it out 😀
Such a beautiful piece for your little girl's room! I watched the other ugly duckling videos and enjoyed them so much!
Love the color and the pulls are PERFECT 💕
She did a great job picking out such a beautiful color!!
❤️❤️❤️ The Way it turned out Corey 👏 Lots of luck with your little one on the way 🥰
So cute!!! Thanks for putting together this challenge :)
I love it! You did such a great job and the colour is awesome x
Great job. Thanks for hosting this challenge
That colour was my Mam's favourite, it's so pretty, I always think of her when I see it. It's lovely and brava for your daughter choosing what she likes, and Mom and Dad for giving her the freedom to choose. 😊👍💝
I love that color!! Really nice job on both the dresser and wall paper! I've never worked with peel & stick, this turned out really well!
so smart starting in the middle of the wall foe the wall papering.
I love the color your daughter picked out and the wall paper and you do incredible work
The dresser is Beautiful! I love the color and hardware is lovely! Enjoying the makeover! God bless
When I got my own room at 10, my dad painted my room pink & the same purple you did on the dresser. One wall & the ceiling were purple & the rest in pink. He painted the sliding closet doors one in each color and the dresser in white with every other drawer pink & purple with white wooden knobs.
It was such a cool room! My mom finished off the details including a bedspread in the same crushed velvet fabric in purple!
So... YES, to me you succeeded in turning this dresser is a very VERY special, "Swan"! 🦢
The wallpaper looks fantastic from where I'm standing. I really love the little white lines between the panels! I think it adds interest!
You're so right. It doesn't match, but does go with the wallpaper! Very cute for a little girls room! My youngest chose purple for her wall color about 7 years ago, its still there and she's in her early 20's now. Lol
Hi Corey. I love your challenge. The first one I saw today was Sarah from Tennesee, the bench, absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see yours.
Thank you Gail. It really blows me away the talent that these DIYers have and bring to my challenge. Its always hard to pick a winner
I am in love with that color! I have a lot of words to say about peel&stick “wallpaper.” I think you and your husband did a great job putting it up. I always enjoy your projects, whether it’s a furniture piece or a DIY home project. I think your daughter’s new dresser is charming and I’m excited to see how her room comes together.🌸
Thank you so much Deborah! In my mind I want to get it all done right this second but then my body says nope! haha. It will be done. slowly but surely!
I love this piece! It’s so beautiful! Great job! 👏
I love the pastel purple your daughter chose. Job well done!
Love the colour and the end result is amazing!
your hubby is such a darl, well done guys
That color is great! It reminds me of the thistle species that grow around my area.
Omg girl I watched every video, I don't know how you are going to choose a winner. Each and every one of theses artists are amazing. If I had to choose my personal favorite would have to be the colored caboose.
All will be okay with the peel and stick wallpaper. She loves it and probably more so because you helped her and gave her her own choice!!!🌸🦋🕊. I love her choice. In a couple of years it will be something else. Love a Daighter💓🌺💓
The warriors did a great job on a waterfall dresser. I looked amazing!
Being a purple lover, the color is so pretty! Her room will be so cute! Great job Mom!
Corey you have such a nice husband. He works and doesn’t complain or talk back 😍
I haven’t seen this challenge from you before, but I am loving it! I always love the stuff you do and your amazing heart. I have had fun watching those that participated this time and am working my way through them all. Love the wallpaper (and honest opinion) and the cute purple dresser! ❤️
I wish as a kid I had the opportunity to pick the color of my furniture. I am sure at some point I would have had something this color. Both my kids chose their dresser colors, and it's very surprising giving them that automy what they will choose. I am a fan of flat finishes, so for me this is a win. ❤️
The dresser came out great. And 2 👍 to your daughter's choice of wallpaper!
What a pretty colour 💕
It’s definitely a swan now 🦢
It turned out beautiful! Your daughter has an eye for color, just like her mom! 🥰
Hello. The dresser is real pretty with the hardware. You daughter, I’m sure will love it! That color….wow!!!! Fantastic, well done!👍🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a difference, the color is wonderful and perfect for a young preteen. Great job.
Thank you Gina
How delightful! I remember being about that age and asking my dad for a purple room and he did it! (Actually lavender, but...)
I have a very old oak dresser, it came to me painted cream. A few years later I painted it black, then later decided to strip it to bare wood. Well, there were two additional coats of paint, and in the end I was unable to strip it all the way down. However it is very cool looking. I get many compliments on it. Once I realized I wasn’t going to be successful stripping it I used very fine sand paper, it is satiny smooth, and unique.
My home shutters are painted purple as well as my front door!!!! Ppl either like or don’t. I do get compliments💜🌸💜 now other ppl are moving away from the “traditional” home colors!!! Saw a brick home in neighborhood that they painted brick off white with teal shutters and a yellow door. It is gorgeous!!!
That is an amazing transformation!
I love the colour. It’s beautiful.
Very bold colour ! looks brand new ;-)
Girl it turned great!!!
Your daughter selected such a fresh, fun color for her furniture. She definitely will have a beautiful room. The backstory triggered precious memories. In the mid 1950s unfinished pine furniture was available in many stores. We purchased a bookcase headboard, chest-of-drawers and small desk for my bedroom. Mother and I painted, stripped and repainted everything after every move. Due to Daddy's job we moved frequently. Mother encouraged me to select the color, she always told me my opinions had value. (I selected whites, creams and one time soft turquoise. I did not want to grow weary of intense colors.) Mother wasn't interested in a 'showcase' bedroom, her focus was insuring her daughter realized her input had value and mattered. I honestly believe that tradition triggered my fondness for flipping furniture. Thank you for a fun video and for triggering such precious memories.
That is absolutely wonderful and I guarantee you are right about how that made you love flipping furniture. What a wonderful childhood
@@DesertDIY .... Obviously you are instilling the same self-worth value in your children. That is awesome parenting and a true gift.
I bit your daughter loves that color so much, beautiful.
Love the color she picked out!
Such a pretty choice your daughter made and you guys are doing a nice job in her room. Nice big room too. Thanks for hosting❣
