- I cannot believe how much we got done for this video! I have had such a hard time with morning sickness and fatigue during the first trimester of my pregnancy, and now that I am hitting 4 months I am starting to feel better. The past month has been a doozy for us with a string of bad luck. Have you ever had one of those months where everything seems to break at the same time and all the money you saved disappears on those necessary fixes? That is the month we just had! Add that to me being sick and working less here on UA-cam...Whew! So, we are doing what we do best which is to hustle and earn the extra cash by flipping furniture. Flipping furniture is an excellent way to pay off debt! Fingers crossed my projects sell quickly! Mama need to pay off her credit card! Oh...and today's video has our GENDER REVEAL at the end! Thank you so much for watching my videos and sharing them with friends and family! Every view counts!

What gender did you guess??? Did you like my projects?
Girl because of the pink necklace lol
I don't know. It will be a surprise.
Well, I always guess boy, because I'm the only girl in a couple generations. I looked the projects particularly the table and chairs. I'll wait ti see how the gun cabinet turns out. The oak buffet was very nice, but never have been a fan of the golden oak. But millions are so I'm sure it will go fast.
Right now I'm reupholstering a very old chair, the wood frame on the bottom of the seat is nearly petrified. I can't use any of my usual tools so I asked my son to bring his Brad nailer over. You can't even hammer anything into the wood. Staples just bounce off. It's a challenge I feel compelled to win. We'll see .
I totally guessed boy....but probably because I have 3 boys lol. Congrats!!!
That dining set was adorable what an interesting table I’ve never seen anything like it!
Congrats on your baby girl 🎉!!
( true story I had a name picked out if I would’ve had a girl her name was going to be Aurora sky)
The sticker on the back of the oak buffet is from a moving company. That’s how they keep inventory of what they are moving for you when they move your furniture/household across the country.
Congratulations on your little one! Thanks for sharing the amazing ultrasound!
I think the fabric on the chairs is from the early sixties. I had the same fabric on my dining chairs my grandparents purchased at that time. I did some research and dated them to 1962-64.
Thank you! I could definitely see that being accurate
That little mystery sticker is from a moving company. Each item gets a numbered sticker and tracked on an inventory list when someone moves.😁
Oh that makes perfect sense! Thank you Theresa
The handle's on the oak wash stand are most likely bakelite. Your table and chair set is fabulous looking. You both do a really superior finished project. Right down to picking a good fabric and putting on the dust cover on the underside of the chairs. Thanks
I thought your wardrobe choice was a hint.
Love what you did with each piece, but the breakfast table and chairs are my favorite. Can't wait to see the completion on the hall tree. Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Thank you!
I love that you are giving your daughter your grandmother's name.
Looking at the dark stain on the inside of that cabinet reminded me of the color of the table I refinished before I got married in 1980. It was my first attempt at refinishing furniture. The dining table belonged to my grandmother. It had been gifted to her by her father when she got married. It was solid oak and black with years of stain and varnish on it. I stripped it down to the bare wood and restored it. It was a beautiful table with three leaves and five legs. The fifth leg was in the center. That table is still in use in my daughter's dining room. It is well loved.
wow that is such a cool story. Thank you for sharing it with me. What a treasure
You have a great husband! I'm hoping that he is enjoying these projects as much as you have. He is very careful and accurate. Great job you two!
Thank you Judith! I am very lucky to have him
I get frustrated on most pieces that need extensive help. It's so much more rewarding when I finally do finish those pieces, sometimes years later. I'm stuck on a pair of waterfall nightstands and an antique squatty vanity chair right now.
Ooh I love how you restored that 100 year old buffet. All these projects are gorgeous (great work on those chairs too! )but that one really stood out. And I love that you pushed through all the challenges. Glad you're feeling better and congrats on the reveal!
Thank you so much! You know how it is!!!!
My guess would be that fabric would be late 50s/early 60s, just because I remember us having these colors! These are gorgeous projects! You really did a great job at restoring their original beauty!
Thank you Lori!
Those handles look like they are made of Bakelite, it was the first plastic made from synthetic components.
Bakelite was used to make all sorts of things and even jewelry was made with it, My grandmother had several Pins/broaches made from it and one piece, in the shape of a miniature bunch of roses, only 2 inches in circumference, and the natural cream colour, like the old handles on that dresser, sold for over $250 at auction. The "problem" with the paint was a chemical reaction of the paint with the old Bakelite. Thank you for sharing your work with us. Keep up the great work.
I think the sticker on the back is something that moving companies use. Being a military brat and a veteran myself, I saw many a sticker in my traveling days.
Very true! Thank you!
Ohh that bought tears to my eyes watching your scan. Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful moment and congratulations to your family.
You have certainlly been very busy with all that furniture. I hope everything runs smoothly for you and no more breakages happen.
Thank you so much Ursula! Watching those scans is always so emotional!
Congratulations!! What a beautiful name!! Love these projects and the table and chairs are my favorite! I hope things get better financially for you guys! Seems like once one thing breaks there is always something else that breaks at the same time 🙄🙄🙄 Thanks for sharing your sweet baby with us Cory!
Thank you Kim! Yes it's like back luck and broken things come together. Good news is good things come after
Precious video of your little one! Praying for strength for you all from a fellow furniture reno mom near Aurora, Ontario, Canada!!
Thank you so much! I'm sure we could all use it
Great job on the furniture. I can see why you love the table and chair so much. Im confident you will get your price or even higher. Im gonna do some binge watching of your older videos to help to inspire me and help with your views.
Congrats on your sweet little DIY. I cant wait to see more of her!
Raise your prices!! You made 5 bucks an hour on those chairs! Beautiful job
Thank you for sharing the ultrasound! It’s been 28 years since I’ve seen one, wow have things changed! I’m all smiles after seeing little Aurora Geraldine. My mothers middle name was Geraldine and I think she felt the same as your grandmother. I love keeping that connection though through names, it’s so important. God bless you all. ❤️
I adore that table! I also love that you enjoy preserving the beautiful antique original oak instead of painting and distressing. I like painted and distressed furniture but the antiques.....preserve them! I thought I was a "boy part" on the ultrasound....guess I was wrong😆😆
I love your style and the care that goes into rebuilding each piece. I woukd have guessed tbe table to be from the mid to end 1800s, and the chairs as old as the 1930s. Congratulations on the new baby! I'm so happy for you and your family. God bless.
Thank you Barbara! And great conclusions about the dates
The ultrasound is so beautiful and a glimpse into the wonderful miracle of us!!! Congratulations.
So much cuteness in that little perfectly mismatched dining set!! On another note, I love your content and helpful videos. I think it’s great you and your husband can do this together. What a precious, genuine soul you have! Best wishes for your family during your current struggles. What a bummer about your vacuum. I call myself the vacuum killer. I go through them like crazy 🤪. You are so cute and happy for your big reveal😁. Babies are the best!❤️
Haha oh my goodness the vacuum killer! That was hilarious. Thank you Cassandra!
I feel the same about refinishing furniture. Seeing remnants of its history telling its story is so cool.
Yay! Another furniture history nerd like me
Wow! That’s a great deal on the table and chairs you restored!! I hope they sell quickly!
Thank you! I hope so too
Everything came out so beautifully….love it all!
Cannot believe what an affordable price you have on the table and chairs. What a great opportunity for someone to have sturdy and timeless furniture on a budget. I’m sure it sold (or will sell) right away. Congratulations on your newest family member ❤️
Thanks for the pics of Aurora, so precious (or whoever babe turned out to be). What a wiggler. 😁
That table is very unusual, but lovely, and the chairs are beauties too. I hope you got what you needed. Your fabric picks are so lovely. Thanks for the video.
Nice to see old pieces brought back to a new life. Hope things look up soon💛 Ultrasounds are amazing to watch, the beauty of Gods amazing gifts to us🤍💗🤍 Congratulations 💗
So glad to see you back on line. Your generosity has been an inspiration to me.
Thank you Valerie
Congratulations! So glad you’re starting to feel better. Great job on the beautiful furniture pieces, and what a great helper your husband is.
Thank you Edna!
So beutiful furniture! I hope you sell it fast to help with your expenses. It's so stressful when thing breaks and you have to pay everything at once! Congratulations on your baby girl💚!
Thank you Emma!
Omgosh, honey! (I'm Cory's mom.) I want that table and chairs! ❤ Absolutely gorgeous!
Congratulations on your upcoming little bundle of joy!!
Great restoration projects!! I also have an old gun cabinet (handmade, signed and dated). I'm thinking a narrow hutch!! But i will be painting this one!
Thank you Velma! Your cabinet will turn out great
Glad you're feeling better. Congrats on the baby girl. Those chairs are definitely from the 40s, my grandmother had similar ones. I think the fabric is from late 60s/70s. As always loved ur makeovers
Thank you Susan!
I'm so glad you shared your ultrasound experience, it was joyful to watch!
Thank you Lisa
The chairs were probably part of a set called Duncan Phyfe. And I think the material is early 70s because that’s when that “flocked” fuzz on fabric and wallpaper was very popular
My husband use to be in the Navy and when they would move us to another base, the movers used those little labels (stickers).
Thank you! I'm sure you're right
Sorry for all the extra expenses ! I love your channel. I’m going to keep it running all day while I do chores. Hopefully that helps!
Thank you so very much! That definitely helps
Thank you for sharing something so personal with us. May you continue to feel healthy during your pregnancy.
Love the buffet and the chairs- I just bought some chairs to reupholster too so now I’m inspired 😍
Recovering chairs is one of my favorite things to do! Thank you!
What WONDERFUL baby pictures!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Congratulations a million times over!!! Stay healthy and keep taking it easy ( as much as you can) !!!! The pieces you did today are absolutely beautiful and I love them❤️❤️ can’t wait to see how the Hall Bench comes out…
Thank you very much Nancy
Beautiful!! Everything you do is so well done. Congrats on your new baby...it was a privilege to meet her.
So good to see you again. Praying for you. Loved, loved the oak buffet. Elizabeth
Really enjoyed watching your D.I.Y project..and thankyou for sharing such a precious moment with us,baby scan. And congratulations to you, your husband& family on your pregnancy..
I hope this makes sense,i am half asleep its 6am here in England 😂🤣..have a blessed day & takecare,xx
Thank you so much!
I think the fabric is the late 50's the three project turned out nice and the good use of the old gun cabinet.
Congratulations on the new bundle of joy. Love watching your videos. I just wanted to let you know that the stickers are from a move. I had many military moves and I probably still have some of those stickers on items.
You husband is being a big help. Love the new baby’s name. Thank you for sharing the ultrasound with us. 👶
Thank you so much Patricia! And you are right!
Can't wait to see the hall tree! Love all your projects!
Good Luck with everything!
Loved the two finished projects and very much looking forward to seeing the finished hall tree. I totally related to your issue with losing interest in a project before you get to "the fun part". Best wishes on feeling better through the remainder of your pregnancy and thank you for sharing the ultrasound. It brought back a lot of memories 🙂
Thank you Gwen!
Loved the projects and specific the older furniture
Thank you!
I think it’s from the 60s. Matches a sofa my parents had from the 60s! Congrats on a baby girl! Love the name!
Those were beautiful pieces restored. Congratulations on the baby girl!
Thank you Shari
Congratulations . Glad you are feeling better. I loved the chairs and the choice of colour. I also love the table.
Thank you
The chairs and table turned out beautiful! As did everything else!
Bless you with your new baby! Praying things take a turn for the better financially! God bless you!!! 🤗🙏🏻🤗
Thank you Sharron
Congratulations on your baby girl! I hope your luck gets better. Am anxious to see the new hall tree! Great work on them all.
Thank you Carrie
Hello Corie, congratulations on your baby girl, Aurora is a beautiful name I'm just so so happy for you, your projects are awesome as they always are ,I would live to see the first project (China hutch) complete as well as the rest of prep and painting of it too,I .oved how the little dinning set turned out that fabric is gorgeous so is the woos grain on that piece,I think it's around 40s/ early 50s for the covers on the chairs, I want to say it would habe been a fairly posh set for those times,
the idea that something 120 years old still around is so cool ,I rea,my enjoy your video's,I hope things pick up for you guys and hopefully things get back on track quickly too, all the best Mary in Australia 🌷
Thank you so much Mary!
The accent chairs & the dining table is my favorite.
Can’t wait to see the beast of a hall dresser finished, but I loved the other two projects, the table and chairs especially. As you’re dressed in pink and you’ve been so sick (as was I for 9 months 😩), I guessed your baby is a girl. Congratulations. Hope you get out of your uncomfortable financial predicament very soon. Good luck.
Thank you Lisa! I was very sick with my first daughter also (but not sick with my second daughter for some reason). As soon as these pieces sell I will work on getting that hall tree done
Beautiful set. Can't wait to see more off you. Take care off your self baby and family. God bless you.
Wow!!! Ultra sounds have come a long way since I was having babies!! Congrats. Love you table and chair set! At 150.00 that's a steal!!! And of course, the buffet is stunning. That wood grain...😍😍
Thank you Robin!
The images of your baby are so precious! You are beautiful and I can’t tell you have been so sick. Your pieces turned out so gorgeous! I hope you get top dollar for them!
Thank you Beverly
Oh my the table and chairs is gorgeous!! Good job! Can’t wait to see the other piece done And I love the hutch ❤️
Aww a baby girl!! I just cried while watching your sweet baby playing around in your tummy 💗💗💗it’s such a beautiful miracle!!!!. She’s so blessed to have you for her momma 🙂.
Thank you so much Pam. I cry when I watch it too. So amazing to see
That buffet was such a good thrift find!
So precious! Thank you for sharing ultrasound!
Love love the table and chairs! Great idea for the hall tree. Congratulations on the baby girl. It was amazing to watch the video if her!
Oh Cory…what beautiful pieces you refinished . Love that oak ! That table was most likely used in the kitchen for the “prep area”. They didn’t have kitchen countertops they used tables like what you have there. GORGEOUS and yes I agree it would have been amazing to have the leaves, but probably pretty beat up since they were the center and most likely heavily used in food prep. That Buffet is gorgeous too! What great pieces.
I thought when I saw the pink necklace…that either it’s a boy and she is “throwing us off” OR A GIRL! Congratulations either way… such a blessing !
I sure pray this morning sickness soon goes away. My Mother had it really bad and back then…hospital stays ( I’m the 3rd out of 4 and I’m 65 …so they didn’t have much to help it out ). My sickness came more at the end. 🤷♀️ But it was mild in the beginning. Something to this day can make me gag….LOL!!! My babies are 44 and 41 !
Can’t wait to see the hall tree done !
💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you so much Jayne! I had the same feeling about that table and what it was used for. It is so funny how everyone's pregnancies can be so different!
@@DesertDIY How true…some women GLOW AND FEEL THEIR BEST…. Then their are people like us ! LOL!!! Which every way…it is truly a miracle and BLESSING when those babies are in our arms!
i am thinking the table was modified later for sure. i think it would have been darker originally and maybe even a bit bigger. Looks like the little pieces in the corners next to the legs may have been added later also i think. Beautiful work! I love to restore these old pieces and sometimes give them a little modern flare!
Not sure what it’s like in the US but in the U.K., all appliances usually come with at least a years warranty. It’s worth checking as they usually replace the item free of charge. Xx
Congratulations!! I guessed right. Love all the projects but the chairs are my fave!!
Thank you Simone. Me too!
Still watching, but wanted to let you know that the sticker on the buffet is an old moving sticker. The moving company put the same number on all of a family's belongings to avoid mixing them up with other families' things on the same truck.
Thank you!
Congratulations on the little girl! I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. Morning sickness sucks royally.
Those vintage plastic handles might be worth something on their own. They're likely not Bakelite, which tended to be darker and/or more saturated colors, but could be one of its near-successors.
Love the dining set - and looking forward to the finished hall furniture :)
I would have bought that table and chairs in a hot minute! Great job! Congratulations to you
I just subscribed to your channel. I have to say it's one of the best on yt on how to take abused furniture and make them beautiful again. I'm in awe of people who can do this and will be trying my hand at it soon. Thank you.
P.s. We just moved to the Midwest and I'm hoping I can find an old big gun cabinet to renovate.
I bet there are lots of those in the Midwest
Enjoyed the flips. The chairs are my favorite.
Thank you Anita
What a sweet ultrasound video. It’s almost as if Aurora knew you were filming and turned to face the camera. Congratulations!
Beautiful projects. I hope they get you a step closer to solving your financial stumbles. Can’t wait to see the 1st project completed.
Thank you Maribel! I thought the same thing when she turned towards the camera
I have missed your projects and always lovd them I would have wanted to keep the chairs for sure . Bless Araura she is too cute .take care
Hopefully you feel better soon mama,,,,,,,,,,
You may want to check out oxalic acid to get stains out of wood. Love all your projects! I turned a gun cabinet into a quilt cabinet. Your hall storage is a wonderful idea.
Beautiful cabinet and the table and chairs came out are also very beautiful
Congratulations! Such pretty names for your baby girl. 😊 Hope you are feeling well, and doing better from the darn morning sickness. Take care and blessings to you and your family. Good luck with your furniture sales, I love the old pieces, some folks will get bargains. 👍
I wonder if those white plastic handles that wouldn't take paint might be celluloid? The date would be right if they were original. I don't know much about antiques but I watch videos about collectibles and I understand that celluloid yellows and is actually desirable with collectors. Might be worth checking out as you could maybe sell them? Best wishes. 😊
Thank you! I've never heard of celluloid! I'll look into it!
I thought that they could be bakelite, as well. Celluloid makes sense, too.
Thank you for sharing this! She looked like she was waving to you at one point in the ultrasound. Blessings to you and your family!
The table and chairs turned out stunningly beautiful. Congratulations on baby ❤
Thank you Marie
It turned out beautiful. Love that table set.thank you.
Thank you Mary
Great projects. And congrats.
Love the dining set! The fabric is perfect.
Ultra sounds were pretty fuzzy when I had mt6children. My first however was clearly a boy, but my second spent all his time showing everyone hes rear end. But I knew he was a boy
So glad you are using family names. My family has always done this. The only down side is certain names are so prevelant, that calling out one at a family reunion usually gets at least 6 responses!
That's wonderful! And great intuition!
Awww...... that’s so sweet! Congratulations. Loved your projects, especially the dining set.
Thank you Kay
Beautiful projects and congrats on your expected bundle
Thank you Nancy
I would buy a used vacuum from the thrift store. The older models have great suction. Paid $20 for a fantastic one three years ago. Great videos!!
Good point! Thank you
So happy for you and your husband!!!! Thank you for sharing with us.👶
Thank you Leah
Your little guy hammering! My heart smiles!
So precious !! Congratulations !
Thank you Vickie
Loved your finds on the old pieces and using the natural wood!! Yes, i predicted girl a while back based on your first ultrasound you shared. Have you ever had those babies get hiccups in utero! Thats a funny one.
Thank you! I love when they get the hiccups
The chairs and table are so beautiful! I’m sure you should sell it right away! Sweet baby girl! Congratulations🐹🦄🐰🌸
Thank you Cindy!
Love, love the table and chairs! Don’t undersell your pieces! Everything was lovely that did. Congratulations on your baby!
Thank you Kathy. Unfortunately where I live, I wouldn't be able to ask more unless it was in a store.
I thought it was probably a girl with your pink bead necklace! Congratulations!
I also have a pair of chairs nearly exactly like the ones you refinished that have been in my garage for a few months. I'm thinking with the holidays coming up and everyone needing extra seating for gatherings, it might be the perfect time to get those finished. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Pearle! Hot pink is one of my favorite colors to wear and I didn't even think about it that day lol. Just a coincidence! I'd say with the nice weather this time of year, it's a perfect time to fix up those chairs
Loved the projects and thank you for letting us see your beautiful moments! Her name is beautiful too!
Thank you Laura
Love the table and chairs! The oak cabinet is a beauty. Congrats on your new blessing!
Thank you
So thrilled for you, you look great! Loved all the projects! Take care and be safe!
Thank you Ashley
The table and chairs are so awesome
Thank you Jade!
Your baby bump is looking healthy and beautiful. My baby bump from the first to second child was a 5 lbs. difference, no exaggeration. My second was a girl. Congrats to you and you hubby!
Congrats on the baby girl. I really loved the table also. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful part of your life.
Thank you Donna
