    Great setup, gave me some good ideas! Interested to know how the heights worked out for the canopy rack.
    Originally I was going to put a roller on ours, but car seats are a big chew toy for our dog and so he’ll be travelling in the bed, in a mimsafe crate. Leaves us with a canopy as our only choice, but sadly in Sweden we’re limited on brand choices. Also looking into a full bed slide, just so I can easily store things behind his crate if I need to.

    Man, thanks for the info! You've earned a subscriber!
    I'm looking at what next rig to get and at the moment its between the lexus twin turbo v6 and the ranger raptor. Leaning towards the raptor as I like Ute's and currently am in a bt50 3.2L which is serving me well. The only issue I have with the raptor is I have a boat that's about 2.1T and it has about 160kg of downball weight. I'm not sure how much the raptor is going to be compromised with that weight. I know it's within spec, but I was surprised to see how much sag u had with a lighter camper albeit with canopy and fridge in the back.

      Legend!! Thanks for the sub! Honestly, I think for you airbags are the go! When I looked into them, AAA and Boss were the two most talked about. I have only had experience with airbag man so can't comment on the two, but it sounds like the AAA are a better match for the raptor. Power/stability wise the raptor will do it no problems at all, just need to stiffen the rear.

My screen went out once too, would come on in reverse for the camera but nothing else would work. Rang ford and they told me how to reset it and it hasnt happened again. • @Eddie_Turbo
      @Eddie_Turbo  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks mate! A lot of the water issues are from the tailgate mate. So whichever cover you go for, just make sure they have a proper tailgate seal. The HSP was good but when it rained, water would go on the touch controls and open the rear cover!! My gear got soaked a couple of times. I ended up trying to remember to lock the doors so the touch pad wouldn't be operable.. They said basically it will hold what ever the cars roof load is. Which didn't really answer my question, especially when I asked them, what the capacity of the ranger is 😂. Plenty of people run a RTT so I'm sure it will be fine, just maybe don't jump it with the tent on 😂

    Couldn't agree with you more on the weight. Ive got the same colour Raptor on order as a 24.5. Coming from the last of the 200s Im a little nervous about going back to a dual cab. Ive ordered the HSP roller cover, did you have any issues when you had that other than the dogs?

    • @Eddie_Turbo
      @Eddie_Turbo  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey mate, just water issues getting in, but that was more from Ford's end (tailgate). I'd honestly go the factory ford roller shutter (wasn't an option when I ordered mine), as you get the proper dust seal. You can order the seal separately, it might even work with the HSP (give them a buzz). The buttons IMO were way too sensitive. When it rained, often the water would activate the touch switches, which would leave all my gear in the back wet. So I started locking the door to deactivate the switch.

I have had my time lugging around all the gear, all it does in my opinion is make you bring more crap with you and ruines the cars ride and handling. The wildtrak felt like an epic platform in the V6, it would be my second choice after the Raptor. But it really comes down to what you'll most likely use the car for... 110% they are worth the wait!! The camper is an Ultimate Offroad, they have a king size bed and a full galley kitchen with a dining area that can be made into a single bed. We have a family of 4 with 2 kids under 4 and all sleep inside no dramas. As the kids get older, they probably want to sleep in a swag anyway! Thanks for the kind words!

      They are absolutely worth the wait!! I waited 9 months for my Code Orange one but fuck, I've never been happier!! Like Eddie says, ever time you drive it, it puts a smile on your face. I'd go one further and to say, every time I see mine, it puts a smile on my face!!

      Best car I've owned by far. I picked it up in July, I've put about 4000kms on the clock and I feel like I did the day I got it everytime I get in it of a morning. It's a beast of a car. Like Eddie said in one of his videos, if anything ever happened to it whether it be mechanical or cosmetic I would get rid of it and order another one exactly the same.

    Im getting the same canopy as you have and im worried with a little more added weight the rear will droop down. Did you have to get the live valve shocks recalibrated after installing the King springs?

    • @Eddie_Turbo
      @Eddie_Turbo  11 місяців тому

      Hey mate, it will droop a tiny bit as the canopy is around 80-90kgs from memory. As long as you "return" the ride height back to standard, you shouldn't have to recalibrate the shocks. Only if you lift it heaps or if it sags too much.

      As per the manufacturers instructions! They were pretty easy to follow. Just measure twice, drill once!

    Can you run 265/70/17 tyres on the stock rims? I don't like the KO2s and I want to change them to something smaller for better fuel consumption

      Should be able to mate, one thing to consider would be the speedo and ESC stuff might need a look at. I believe you can select tyre size in forscan. Might be worth a look into. Some smaller grippy road tyres would be pretty fun to hoon around on a track or the twisties I reckon! 👍👍

    Why make a ute, with a tub, that can’t hold any weight 🤦🏽‍♂️

    • @Eddie_Turbo
      @Eddie_Turbo  11 місяців тому +2

      Hey Jimmy, depends on what you're after I guess. Our last car was a series 5 Y62 TiL with a pay load of 639kgs, the raptor has a payload of 708kg. Having said that, this ute was never built to be a 1tonne ute. It drives fantastic daily, even better offroad.
      If you want a tourer with all the fruit, like our 79 series dual cab, then the raptor is not the ute for you. The 79 drives like shit on and off road compared to the raptor. So it really depends on what you want to use the ute for. For us, at the moment it's perfect. I'm not on the tools anymore, we have a light weight offroad camper, so it suits our family of 4 perfect. Cheers mate

      @@Eddie_Turbo cheers mate. I didn’t realise it was 708kg I thought it was like 500kg. In any case, I completely understand and love the idea of the raptor. I’m picking mine up in a couple weeks!
