Hey mate got my order today. Just wanted to ask you about the feed wire and you used to tap into fords factory wires was that included in the bundle? Cause I’m about stuck about that
Amazing video, great and detailed installation guide which will make my life easier installing anything under the grill for my ranger raptor. Love your positive attitude and keep up the great work.
Excellent video content! I noticed that the lighting setup features 12" Stedi ST3302 LED units with a current draw of 5.9 amps each, totaling 11.8 amps for both. It's worth highlighting that the positive and negative connections provided by Ford for Aux 6 support a current draw of up to 25 amps. Consequently, there's no necessity for an extra relay in this configuration. This setup is well within the specified limits, ensuring a safe and reliable operation.
That's perfect mate! I'm sure it'll help others reading this in the future. We went with the Trail bait recommendation for install setup with the additional relay harness.
Ditto, extra relay and additional connections are not needed, just connect to Aux power and all is done..additional power box has fuse and relay built in which is sufficient to run light bars or Bar as I did with my 32" lightbar..😉
As time has passed from the filming of this installation stock levels may have changed the best suggestion would be to contact the supplier directly and check in with availability
Correct mate. The original relay/switches are well rated with fused relay already. Just have to ensure your chosen lights current draw doesn't exceed the factory rating.
Hi, good video! However EU Raptor has a louvre in front of the radiator, did someone mount one on a EU model? Or does someone know if it will fit? I tried to measure and seems tight..
Nice video. Why did you not connect the pos and neg from the lights directly to the Ford supplied connections to Aux 6 and leave off the loom with relay and switch? Ford have provided the pos and neg wire with fuse and relay, and switch.
Thank you mate due to the current draw of the lights themselves the manufacturer of the installation kit recommends using the factory Ford supplied Trigger Point as a trigger for the relay harness for safety

Just wondering if this takes advantage of the factory accessory switches on the roof in the cabin. So you can turn the light bars on/off and be able to have high beams without the light bars. I’m pretty sure being able to turn them on/off separate to the high beams is a legal requirement too
Yes correct, the factory roof mounted aux switches do act as a kill switch for the new light bars, so that way you can use only the factory high beams when needed and turn on the extra lights when needed. I believe it was switch 5 or 6 that controlled the functionality.

Grazie anticipatamente.
Hi thankyou very much. It is great today that UA-cam had a translate to English option for your comment. Perhaps if at that 8:35 mark of video your car doesn't have high beam voltage coming through, you will need to tap into another high beam wiring connection point. Check at the passenger side kick panel on interior, on some models they have a factory high beam trigger point here.
Hi. I followed the installation, step by step from your video. The LED bar will light up when I turn on the #6 switch even if the headlight is in low or high beam. Need your advice. Thanks
@@FordMercGuy The wires you tapped off from are a supply from the Aux6 switch. It will get power with the engine on and the switch on. It is not linked to high beam at all. Thats why you can switch them on whenever you switch on Aux6. To use a high beam trigger you need the piggy back adapter or pick up the high beam wires behind the left kick panel inside the cab on the passenger footwell. Pretty sure you could have connected the harness battery plus and minus direct to the yellow/yellow-black Aux6 wires to supply the whole setup. Aux6 is rated for 25A and has its own fuse and relay already.
Yes few ways it can be done. Trailbait manufacturer just recommended the aux 6 trigger point be used as a signal output due to current draw of the lights.
Hi, Great video, just wondering how these work with the matrix led head lights? If the matrix lights block out a car coming the other way, Do you know if the ford signal wires cut power to the light bar? Otherwise wouldnt the full beams adapt and the light bar continue to dazzle the on coming car? I guess you could always flick the switch when on coming vehical are likely Thanks
Thanks mate! That's right could manually kill the light bars with the overhead aux switch (or supplied in line switch). But many localities don't advise driving with high beams on in metro at all, let alone light bars that are always intended for off road use only.
Mate, great video, very informative. Is there a way to have it set up to auxiliary and high beams? So they won't turn on unless you have high beams on AND the auxiliary switch turned to the on position as well.
Hi legend yes considering Ford has done all the hard work already is really great. We were just following the light bar installation manufacturer instructions.
That's what I was thinking. As long as you don't exceed the current rating of Fords relay/wiring it should be okay to directly go from light bar to that twin yellow/black that Ford provided yeah?
True mate. The Manufacturer of the kit stated to us that due to the high current required for the light bars, they recommend using the factory yellow black feed wires as a trigger for the wiring harness in their kit. That way we won't be overloading the factory wiring system.
Hey brother for a model that has the Raptor front grill and premium pack installed yes but if not there is a suitable kit that allows you to install the high beam trigger from the passenger kick panel
Hi mate many thanks!! Ford supplied the high beam feed wire in the radiator support area. The black and yellow wires taped up, these are the factory high beam signal feed. The additional relay is just using fords wiring as a signal for the aftermarket relay to be energised and then supply power to the lights.
On this car, the black yellow wires are energised with power when the original high beam is used. So when factory high beam is on, the light bars turn on. The overhead switch is a kill switch.
@@FordMercGuy Obviously there are 2 different configurations. I can see several with my configuration. It is energized by activating switch 6 without the high beam needing to be on.
Hi, I am sorry if my comment is not related to this video. I saw your video on the Duplicolor Anodized Paint, and I want to ask if these would look close enough as colors for an Optimus Prime Peterbilt truck as I have had a rough time searching for paint that matches his looks and these colors are the best pick I found locally. Thank you in advance and I apologize for stepping away of the topic of this video.
Hi mate no worries. Yes the red and blue should definitely pop well mate in daylight/strong lighting condition. Being metallic Annodized colours they'll look dark in low light. The brighter aspect only showing up in direct sunlight.. But isn't that most colours anyway? 👊
Yes perhaps a potential for that but I don't think much of a chance for it since the light bars are so small compared to the big opening of the grille/radiator around them.
Excellent video really impressed ! Would love to have these lights fitted to my new Ford Ranger Raptor, I live in Melbourne , who do I contact please ?
Thank you very much mate! Well I do time to time travel to Melbourne and Sydney with my mobile business, so perhaps depending on how soon you might want the lights fitted perhaps we could organise to travel to Melbourne especially for your installation perhaps if you haven't found anyone else in Melbourne to help you
Hi Wondering do you open a sponsorship opportunity to Auxbeam? We got a switch panel that can control this light bar including other units and have many other lighting kits looking to send out as well!
Hi mate great video I’m looking at getting a set of these for my 2023 next gen wildtrack with premium pack. Is the installation very much the same or is it a bit different.
Hi mate, if your front grille is like the Raptor in this video you'll find it's the same. A final way to check is if you have the factory aux 5/6 yellow/black wires taped ready in the same location at front radiator support, you'll be laughing.
@@FordMercGuy yeah pretty sure I do I have aux switches on top of the roof and I got two wires right next to the battery which im presuming they are the ones yes they are yellow and black
Hi mate, I'm staying in South Africa and also own a next gen Ranger raptor. Just a question why my up head aux switch aux 5 and aux 6 can be switch on no matter if the high bean is on or off.
Hi mate I'm not completely familiar with these cars as of yet but I believe those overhead aux switches run independent of everything they are on their own Circuit and have their own relay
Excellent. But when you manually pull the lights lever to flash the high beam or push it to enable high beam manually they engage again if the aux light switch is on?. Thanks for your feedback
I would say so mate. That momentary use of the high beam with aux switch in the on position should allow the light to operate, ofcourse should be used off road only/or in areas no cars will be present on the road anyway. Unfortunately I don't have regular access to this car for testing against your query
I gotchya now. Raptor/Everest models with aux switches overhead have the wiring ready to go for high beam trigger but lower models won't. So you'd need to run separate switch/relay. The mounting may be similar but bumper grill removal may be needed to make it happen. Unfortunately I haven't tried from experience yet.
As always safest to disconnect battery when working on vehicle electronics. However in this case I didn't disconnect the battery and worked very carefully. You could remove inline fuse to the new wiring harness and install at the very end.
Hi mate, for the current draw of these lights, manufacturer of this kit recommended using the aux Ford wiring as a trigger point rather than loading the Ford circuit. All depending on current draw of your selected lights you're going to install.
I found your video very informative. But I do have a question for you. I have a kit just like the one you have installed, and will be installing it in my NA Ranger Raptor. But instead of just coiling the Stedi switch in the ON position, I want to tie it into the uplifter switches in the truck. Since the Stedi wiring harness has a relay built into it, I imagine that I have to have a means to trigger that. Is it safe to take the white and blue wires from the Stedi harness and tie them together, then connect the two of them to one of my uplifter switches? Of course the black wire will be grounded to the chassis of the truck.
Thanks mate! Consider the Stedi wiring harness switch as an inline kill switch. So connecting the switch blue and white wires together means the only thing disabling the Light bar will be the factory toggle switch that you are using as your high beam signal feed for energising the relay. The Stedi switch would act as the only source of disabling the light bar for cars that only have an original high beam stalk and no other way of Turing on high beams
@@FordMercGuy Right. So as long as I have the Ford Switch is turned on, and my high beams on, the in grill lights will work. But for whatever reason I don't want or need the extra light, I can turn the extra lights off and have only my normal high beams. Do I understand this correctly? I wasn't expecting such a fast reply. Cheers mate!
Yes this sounds good mate. Even as is. The Stedi switch is just connecting the blue and white wires together. So if you want to test. Put the Stedi switch to the ON position. Then get familiar with what you can do with the Ford extra lights switch for enabling and disabling the extra lights and then using just normal high beams. In this test leaving the switch the ON position is imitating if you remove the switch and manually connect the blue and white cables together. Cheers mate
Hey mate, I'm having a 40 inch Front Runner light bar mounted, the mechanic who has quoted the job has included a Can Bus module, do I really need that?
Hey mate, I'm not familiar with canbus modules to put inline for these cars.. Maybe it's to avoid warning lights or issues with light flickering/compatibility.
Hi mate, unfortunately being some time ago + client had ordered the kit so unsure of exact details. But, even without it, you'd be able to make your own version or just hard wire it. The feed wire I soldered into aux 6 wires just had a quick male female disconnect. You don't necessarily need to disconnect at anytime but I guess Handy if you don't want go run them. But you could use generic version from your local auto store. It's not a Stedi specific feed wire plug.
Why not just hook the lights directly to the ford wiring? It 25A rated on my wildtrack and aux 5&6 are switch manually and with high beams. Just seems to be doubling up with extra wiring.
Hi mate, manufacturer of the install kit suggests using the Ford aux wiring point as a trigger point for the light bar harness. Considerations of the current draw is the reason behind this. Certainly Ford have done the work already.
Hello Mate, you have wired this into your Full Beam so when you activate your full beam, your light bar also activates as well. Is there a way I can wire this into my full beam and my Aux 5/6 Switch so when I have my Aux Switch on and turn my full beam on they come on and if I turn my aux switch off and full beam on the full beam only activates and the light bar doesn’t. Thanks again
Hi mate, to my understanding the factory wire position that I tapped into at the radiator area is controlled by aux switch 5/6. As in they act as a kill switch. So high beam can work independent of the light bars if needed.
Is the yellow/black wire an earth wire ? I joined to the solid yellow and yellow/black but there is no power going through when testing with multimeter and high beam on. ARB shifted mine from footwell to under bonnet when putting bullbar on
Hi mate the solid yellow is a positive signal wire and the black yellow is a earth wire. You could Earth separately as long as everything is connected and no brakes in the wiring the solid yellow should be giving you a high beam feed at least this Raptor with the factory auxiliary switches on the headlining this was the case
Yeh cheers mate looks like my earth cable is a different colour it's solid black and yellow/black is high beam lvl 3 mine is a Ranger so obviously different to the Raptor nice video mate 👍
Howdy. Yes the lights can suit. You will find Next gen wild track that is with or without Raptor grille have corresponding wiring harnesses available to suit. Contacting trailbait by email, the team can help you direct if you need.
The kit Manufacturer recommended using the factory high beam feed as a trigger for the wiring harness due to considerations for the current draw of both the lights.
The current draw on each of those stedi lights is 5.9 amps @ 13.6 volts. Which is roughly 12 amps combined. Switch 5&6 in vehicle has 25 amp relay plenty enough for those two lights
Correct mate! However the manufacturer of the installation kit recommends using the factory Ford supplied aux 5/6 feed wires Point as a trigger for the relay harness for safety. But true appropriate lights can be connected straight to that point
There are 6 AUX switch ready to use (AUX1 and AUX2 are just design for the high beam light) relay and fuse all in the engine bay is there any reason why need to use another relay instead of the factory one?
Hi mate, we were just installing to the manufacturer instructions of the light bar kit. TrailBait. Indeed probably not necessary but we adhered to the install instructions.

It was a very tight fit trying to get a spanner onto the nut from underneath for mounting the middle bracket. Your UK spec must have an extra hardware in that zone to meet some kind of regulations
@@Benchdogtools Yeah, I have noticed a louvre flap system on the UK raptor which probably opens and closes based on temperature. Did this not cause you any problems?? for me I don't think I will be using this light location/option.

Hi, for the 2023 Raptor, the yellow and black wires as seen in this video is the factory trigger point that turn "live" when the factory high beam is activated. So using this point as your trigger for adding aftermarket lights.
@FordMercGuy I am an auto elec of many years. My advice is never solder wires together. Solder is for circuit boards. No manufacture ever solders wires. Not one car comes from factory with soldered wires. Crimp with good quality crimps and a crimp tool. Make sure its of quality. Hi, Great video, just wondering how these work with the matrix led head lights? If the matrix lights block out a car coming the other way, Do you know if the ford signal wires cut power to the light bar? Otherwise wouldnt the full beams adapt and the light bar continue to dazzle the on coming car?
I guess you could always flick the switch when on coming vehical are likely
Thanks
Thanks mate! That's right could manually kill the light bars with the overhead aux switch (or supplied in line switch). But many localities don't advise driving with high beams on in metro at all, let alone light bars that are always intended for off road use only.
Ford has designed it so that the aftermarket lights will automatically cut out when the matrix function begins to operate
Perfect, thanks for the clarity Damian.
You make it look easy! Who makes this kit?
Thanks mate, the kit and fords design both made it really easy! Slight nuisances but not bad at all. TrailBait is the supplier.
Would it be possible to remove the extra rocker switch instead of taping it up and tucking it away in the engine bay?
You could join the wires together so the lights are always in the on position.
@@FordMercGuythe switch has 3 wires - so just tape up the black earth wire and join the other two?
Correct mate. Therefore bypassing the "switch" function. The earth being for the LED of the switch light up function.
Cheers for the confirmation!

Mate, great video, very informative. Is there a way to have it set up to auxiliary and high beams? So they won't turn on unless you have high beams on AND the auxiliary switch turned to the on position as well.
Thanks very much mate, yes installed in this way means they turn on only when the high beam is on and the auxiliary switch is in the on position
Just a FYI - There is no need for the extra fuse and relay. There is a fuse and really already fitted from factory
Hey bro, would this install be the same for a Next Gen Wildtrak too?
Hey brother for a model that has the Raptor front grill and premium pack installed yes but if not there is a suitable kit that allows you to install the high beam trigger from the passenger kick panel
@Ford Merc Guy thanks so much mate!!!
No dramas mate 👊
Excellent video. I think the additional relay is to receive the high beam signal. What will be the high beam wire?
Hi mate many thanks!!
Ford supplied the high beam feed wire in the radiator support area. The black and yellow wires taped up, these are the factory high beam signal feed. The additional relay is just using fords wiring as a signal for the aftermarket relay to be energised and then supply power to the lights.
@@FordMercGuy I have it connected to the black and yellow wire, switch 6 but it does not work in conjunction with the high beam. works independently.
Ahh interesting to learn!

Looks great, I am now considering it. Just worried that it may restrict the air flow and hence disturb the cooling.
Great mate! Sounds like you're good to go!
@@FordMercGuy awesome thanks mate I’ll be giving it a crack tomorrow
Awesome mate, have fun! Good luck
Hi mate, I'm staying in South Africa and also own a next gen Ranger raptor. Just a question why my up head aux switch aux 5 and aux 6 can be switch on no matter if the high bean is on or off.
Hi mate I'm not completely familiar with these cars as of yet but I believe those overhead aux switches run independent of everything they are on their own Circuit and have their own relay
hi, Im interested to perform this install on my raptor. how does this install behave with the led matrix function?. Thanks for your feedback.
Hi mate, Ford has designed it so that the aftermarket lights will automatically cut out when the Matrix function begins to operate.
Is the sport much different in installation? Thanks in advance
Hi mate can you elaborate on "sport"? Is that a typo?
@ hey buddy, the sport is the model below wild track and above XLT.
I have this one
Awesome!!
hi, the high beam feed, from the Raptor/Ford where does it go to ? (the wire you connect it with - where does it go it or how do i find it?)
Hi mate the high beam feed wiring (the yellow and yellow black signal wires) go to a separate relay/fuse box for the overhead AUX switches I believe
Will it fit on the Wildtrack version too?
If it's fitted with premium pack with overhead aux switches then Yes, wiring will be there too!
Who supplies the kit? I am in the UK waiting for my delivery,
Hi mate thanks for connecting all the way over. You'll love the beast. This was Trailbait kit
How good doeas it work with Matrix functionalties?
I've messaged the owner of this car to ask if the functionalities for you.
Does the battery have to be turned off to install lights or can it be on (obv with the car not running)
As always safest to disconnect battery when working on vehicle electronics. However in this case I didn't disconnect the battery and worked very carefully.
You could remove inline fuse to the new wiring harness and install at the very end.
Looks simple but I'd prefer someone that does it to install it for me😅..
Where are you guys located?
Hahah I understand what you mean mate. We're based in South Australia. Give us a message anytime @handyautocare
Did you cut off the switch?
No mate I left it in the on position and taped it up with all the excess harness wiring
Mine is next gen everest 4cyl 2.0L, Stedi noted that my vehicle is not suit this bundle, what do you think of it. Any reasonable for this limit?
Hi mate email Damian at trailbait and see if he can, advise you. Cheers: damian@trailbait.com.au
Why did you run another relay? Isn’t the existing wiring from Ford already supplying power via a relay???
So connecting the switch blue and white wires together means the only thing disabling the
Light bar will be the factory toggle switch that you are using as your high beam signal feed for energising the relay.
Hi what brand is this? Thank u more power
From Trailbait mate. You can check out their website with a Google search for Trailbait Raptor Light bar on search terms
Could you give us a link to buy the lights?

What harness is that? I bought a stedi dual smart wiring harness and it doest come with that feed wire that you soldered on the aux 6.
Will these lights be available in amber color?
Hi mate I'm unaware. Best would be to try the trailbait website and check their listings
They don’t come in amber but you can order amber lens covers directly from Stedi. It’s what I did on my install.
Those lights are for off road only. Highbeam are blow the low beam
Correct mate off-road use only
@FordMercGuy Some people use them as high beam on road. Big fine if caught
Absolutely!!
I’m not good with electronics, but where the lights connected to any of the control auxiliary switches in the truck?
Yes mate, this model has 6 aux switches and the lights now could be on or off with the aux switch (in line) with the original high beam function
How turns on and off ?🤔
Hi mate it turns on and off with the original high beam light. And Raptor has overhead AUX switches that can turn the light on too
How do you make the Headlights static blink like that?
Hi mate sorry not sure what you mean
the signal light is burning out,how to fits
Make sure you aren't using bars fingers on the new bulb. Use gloves etc. Otherwise does your car have new car warranty? Cheers
Where can I get this from?
Check out Trailbait mate
ARB shifted mine from footwell to under bonnet when putting bullbar on
Can l just join red to yellow than earth the black to earth point
Hi mate the solid yellow is a positive signal wire and the black yellow is a earth wire. You could Earth separately as long as everything is connected and no brakes in the wiring the solid yellow should be giving you a high beam feed at least this Raptor with the factory auxiliary switches on the headlining this was the case
Yeh cheers mate looks like my earth cable is a different colour it's solid black and yellow/black is high beam lvl 3 mine is a Ranger so obviously different to the Raptor nice video mate 👍
Ah yes some small changes. Cheers mate

Hi. Just wondering, as I might have missed something. If you’re running off Aux switch 6. Why do you need the extra relay?
Hi mate, we just installed to the aftermarket kit instructions!
Your right, it's already on an independent fuse and relay so could of used the yellow, and yellow black directly.
That's it mate.
@@FordMercGuy Depends upon the current draw of the lights - those upper switches for the driving lights are fused to 25A
The kit Manufacturer recommended using the factory high beam feed as a trigger for the wiring harness due to considerations for the current draw of both the lights.
Why are you using a wiring harness. All auxiliary switches have built fuses and relays
Hi mate. The kit's manufacturer recommended to due to current draw of these lights.
Where can I purchase led bar for ford Everest 2023 ? Thanks

A update for the Raptor in the UK. It won’t work as there is no access to the middle bolt hole to fix the middle bracket down.
Ahh interesting!! Darn
@@FordMercGuy I’ve managed to fit them now but on the uk raptor there seem to be a inner grill which opens and closes. Plus there is no access to put a nut on the bolt. Had to re make the brackets to make it work.
It was a very tight fit trying to get a spanner onto the nut from underneath for mounting the middle bracket. Your UK spec must have an extra hardware in that zone to meet some kind of regulations

I want that light bar will switch on when I switch high beams on.
Hi, for the 2023 Raptor, the yellow and black wires as seen in this video is the factory trigger point that turn "live" when the factory high beam is activated. So using this point as your trigger for adding aftermarket lights.
Should have been outside grill bar. Grill stopping it full light.
Traditionally yes, but this is for people wanting to keep front of vehicle free of extra additions on exterior for aesthetical reasons
@Ford Merc Guy Did you compare the output outside vs inside ? How much is the diffrence?
Hi mate no didn't compare the outside vs inside as the owner only wanted the lights hidden away behind tbr grill.
Quik Crimps would have been neater and better. Less joins the better.
True!! In hindsight nowadays soldering would be my pick. Less potentials for issue the better.
@FordMercGuy I am an auto elec of many years. My advice is never solder wires together. Solder is for circuit boards. No manufacture ever solders wires. Not one car comes from factory with soldered wires. Crimp with good quality crimps and a crimp tool. Make sure its of quality.

Honestly, not a fan. The grill blocks the lights in every way. Just find lights that can attach without cutting your grill, minimize loss of airflow, and actually light up the road like you need.
Agreed a set up like this certainly does have its cons.
Bet it doesn’t block 1/10th of a percent of the light. 😂
