Yep, Fuji is very late to make a 12mm f/2 lens with AF and WR. I have the Fuji 16mm f/2.8, and the Laowa 9mm f/2.8. I need something in between that is reasonably small. Have been considering the Viltrox 13mm, but now you’ve given me another choice to think over. Thanks.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The Viltrox is awesome but so much bigger and heavier .
@@TwoTimesRmedia For my wide angle needs, I went and pre-ordered the new Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 zoom. It’s small and light, which is important for me. Very sharp too. Seems like I will be selling my Laowa 9mm and my Fuji 16/2.8.
@@swagonman not a bad choice at all from what I've seen from that lens. I am still testing and using the Tamron 11-20 f2.8 . I might have gotten the sigma 10-18 if I didn't get the Tamron .
Have the Samyang 12 M/ F - small but beautifully made, have a Viltrox 13 1.4 due on Monday - used the Fuji 16’s but neither quite hit the spot….roll on the Vil 😎👍
@@michaelwhiles5282 the Viltrox is definitely where it's at. Great build quality and image quality. I sold the samyang .
This also works with the Ricoh GW-4 wide converter...
Great video, keep filming you're good at it.
Thanks a lot I really appreciate it.
Thanks for all that information
Damn, what a cheat code! I might just try this on my 18mm f2--might be exactly what I want so I don't need to buy another lens 🤣. Thanks for sharing this.
For anyone wondering about the widening factor of the adaptor, I think it should be around .77. Since Ricky was comparing the XF 16mm to the Samyang 12mm, I divided 12 by 16 and added slightly to the number because the XF results with the adapter seems slightly tighter than the Samyang.
Yes it is ever so slightly tighter than the 12mm. Thanks for watching and thanks for this info.
Hi Ricky
Great video. Is it possible to mount the ulanzi adapter on xf18-55 with step up/down rings? Will there be any vignetting?
Unfortunately there will be vignetting. Unless you crop into the frame a bit which still may be wider than if you didn't use the ulanzi adapter.
But the fuji 16mm f2.8 has a filter thread of 49mm...how did you attach this to it.?
Step up ring
I should have demonstrated adding it all together and all the exact parts . That was a misstep on my part I apologize. Thanks for watching.
@@TwoTimesRmedia Thankyou..It was really helpful as i am actively looking for a wide angle option..
@@TwoTimesRmedia So if I buy a viltrox 13mm, I can make it even wider, right ?
@@neoandmorpheus123 I think it's a nice option. You get 3 focal length. Wide, medium wide and macro. Thanks again.
Discovered your vid! Thanks for the tip bro
Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment . Glad I could help .
hey, which size is this Ulanzi adapter? not sure if i have the right adapter ring size for it. Thanks for the recommendation!
You need a 52mm adapter ring on your lens for this to work .
Great video!!
Thanks for watching
Seems a nice alternative to a speed booster if you dont need to go faster, but just wider!
Is there a good speed booster for the x mount ? Sigma needs to make another f1.8 constant zoom lens for other mounts
@@TwoTimesRmedia I think there is one from Metabones, but I have never used one personally. I would also like a constant zoom better than 2.8!
How do so many of my roads lead to you, man? LOL. I was looking at comparison videos on the Viltrox 13 vs the XF 16 and I stumbled on this. Sometimes my beloved Viltrox 23 is just a hair too narrow when I'm shooting bands, but my XF 18-55 isn't wide enough aperture for dark venues. Now I'm thinking about trying this on my 23 since it's a 52mm thread. Could be a cool fix until I can afford a Fuji or Sigma 16.
Very true you will definitely get a bit more width. Thanks for watching . Glad UA-cam pointed you to my channel. Lol
I just sent you a message on IG
Thanks for the comparison with and without filter. But The Viltrox is F1.4, of course it is bigger and heavier than an F2.8. Is the distortion of the 16mm + Filter as good as the Viltrox 13mm?
No unfortunately it won't be as good as the Viltrox, the Viltrox has it a bit more under control. Thanks for watching and commenting.
There is definitely some distortion on the Viltrox just better controlled.
I have both of the mentioned elements, but I can't assemble them together. How can you do this?
You will need a step up ring . I'm sorry, I mentioned it in the video. To go from 49 to 52 .
Thanks for watching I appreciate it. Don't forget to sub and if you have any other questions. I'll be glad to answer them.
Thank you for the shout out ♥️♥️
You deserve more views bro
And more subs
If you were to have one of those lens, will it be the 16mm fuji or 13mm viltrox?
I would have to say I would go with the Viltrox. I enjoy the focal length and speed. I can crank my shutter just a bit more for sharper photos. I have shaky hands so that always helps.
Bought an XT4, and a Viltrox 13mm 1.4. Thinking about going with a Sigma 56mm 1.4.
Yeah I'm considering that one as well . Thanks for watching
Great Video
Thanks for watching bro
