You guys should really dig into the Godsmack catalogue. Songs like Moon Baby, Whatever, I Am, Under Your Scars, Keep Away and Bulletproof are just a few of the gems. 🤘🔥🔥🤘
Gems is right. These guys killed it for a long time. I know they did react to a few already.
Moon Baby is one of my favorite songs. I love that riff.
They did Keep Away already. Greed would be another good one.
Crying like a b**** is about Vince Neil and Sally had words and Sally said he'll beat his ass cuz he's old
The first 3 albums and the acoustic album were really good. After that Godsmack became nothing special. I do admit they are awesome live. I saw them open up for Metallica after Godsmack released the Faceless album. 90 minutes of Godsmack and 3.5 hours of Metallica.
*Everyone thinks this song is solely about Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue, and parts of it are. But the song itself is inspired by the drummer of Godsmack, Shannon Larkin. Larkin is a huge Raiders fan. The Raiders were playing the Chargers in a playoff game when ex Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers threw an interception. Rivers was seen on the sideline crying. So Larkin told Sully Erna (singer) to write a song called "Cryin' Like A Bitch". Sully loved it so he did. Larkin came up with the title and Sully wrote the lyrics. For Larkin, this song will forever be about Quarterback Philip Rivers. For Sully, it's more towards Sixx. It's open to interpretation since anyone hearing this song has their own person or ppl in mind.*
No its actually about Tommy Lee that's what some mutual friends told me when he came home .
I was definitely about Motley Crue after they toured with them. Motley's ego is notorious and this song is about that. Six especially!
When Shanon came home to Baltimore that is .
@@warlord1002 Here's the interview. "Whatever happened with Godsmack and Motley Crue, the fallout has been the subject of much documentation.
Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin revisited the topic in a recent video chat with That Jamieson Show. In discussing the song's inception, the drummer reminded rock fans that it was he who came up with the title of "Cryin' Like a Bitch." His inspiration for it came from watching Rivers shed a tear on the sidelines during a football game between the NFL's Raiders (then located in Oakland, Calif.) and the Chargers (with whom Rivers played at the time and were located in San Diego).
"I came up with 'Cryin' Like a Bitch' about Philip Rivers because I'm a Raiders fan," Larkin explained. "They needed to win in the playoffs. At the end, Philip Rivers threw, of course, he threw the interception, or whatever he did. So, there he is on the sideline with a tear glistening on his eye. So I told Sully, 'Oh my God, dude. Write a song called 'Cryin' Like a Bitch.'' And he [said], 'That's rad.' He loved it."
Further, the drummer indicated, the reported bad vibes on Crue Fest 2 probably weren't as bad as they were later made out to be. "That Motley tour was fun for everybody," Larkin added. "Later on, Nikki Sixx [said Godsmack] didn't have fun on the tour. Whatever - we had fun. … Just there were certain things that pissed our guy [Erna] off, and so he pissed their guy [Sixx] off, and those guys are very strong-willed dudes." Still, the song is in some ways about Sixx. Once Larkin coined the title, Erna wrote the lyrics to the track. As the drummer has suggested before, that leaves the tune's meaning more open to the listener's interpretation than being about any one individual. But to him, it's all about Rivers.
"Sully is a singer that likes to write all the lyrics and sing his own words," Larkin said in 2011, "so he went ahead and wrote that song. I don't want to speak for him but I know that certain lines were directed at Sixx and only because there were some clashes of egos on the … tour we did. There certainly were some words said. I think that's how the whole rumor started that the song was about Nikki, but in reality, the song was about Philip Rivers. Raiders, baby!"

Their were alot of new bands that hit the scene in 98/99 Including my hometown homies Slipknot, Disturbed, Staind, Mudvayne, Papa Roach and even more. Amazing jolt to the rock and metal scene. The Godsmack debut album was the beat imo. Whatever, Keep away, Moon baby and it ended with Voodoo. Every song was good and Sully is a MFing rock star 100% with an awesome voice and a cool dude.
...and Bad Religion.
Wait you are from Des Moines? So am I lol
Yes! More Godsmack! Whatever, Unforgettable, Whiskey Hangover, Sickn of Life, etc.
Hellz Yeah!!
It’s a song to Nikki Sixx who got upset that Godsmack was playing after Motley Crue, Sixx felt Crue had seniority and more of a legacy and wanted to headline
It went further than that. Apparently they were playing in Godsmack's home town and Sixx banned the guys from Godsmack from having their families come backstage, because he didn't want to be bothered.
Obviously, Sully was incensed about this.
nikki also got upset with john corabi when john told the truth about incidents that happened while he was the singer. he claimed sixx exaggerated big time about many things he said the band did. the lies nikki wrote in his book. he wasnt even into drugs as much as he claims. i believe corabi said he didnt even see it when he was with them. he didnt even know nikki had a problem. all for show..
@ Matt Osborn Only partially true. It was the second year of Crüe Fest (Crüe Fest meaning The Crüe headlines), and Sully didn’t like how Nikki had certain expectations and expected to be treated like the rockstar he is. The Crüe are from a time when a band was “taken care of”, Godsmack came of age in the 90’s and was lucky to get a cheese plate and case of beer provided backstage from the promoter. Sully simply thought that Nikki/The Crüe were acting like ridiculous divas.
It wad because of a comment by Nikki Sixx to Sully asking them to turn down there amps because they were sounding better than Motley Crue and the fans were digging Godsmack more !
Sully said F U !!!
And came up with the song !!!
@@billybee3423 The first time I saw Crue in their Kickstart My Heart tour they rocked. I saw them again at Crue fest II, 2009 I think it was, and it was a horrible. I believe they were lip-syncing their Kickstart My Heart album for the entire show. Everything was just too on point with that studio album and they didn't do anything else, if you get my meaning? Tommy Lee wasn't even on the drums. Instead he walked around the stage with a mic, and did a rap song of his toward the end of the show. They were a complete disappointment. If it hadn't been for Godsmack, Drowning Pool, and others; I would've called the concert a complete flop. Crue did not earn their place as the headliner that night, not even close, and the concert actually would've been better if they weren't even there!
Every once in a while Lex makes a comparison between bands sounds or influences that makes me pause for a moment and then nod my head in agreement to a connection that had never occurred to me before
I got my friend this CD for his birthday many years ago. Good times. This is one of my fave Godsmack songs
'Keep away' by this band forever will be connected to my 3 month stay in NY early 2000. As a Dutchie doing a 3 month internship there was the best ! Driving around in the car exploring NY and CT, i would turn it all the way up when 'keep away' came on. Still have the CD somewhere which I bought in the Virgin record store on Times Square.
It's about time you get into Godsmack!! I love their music!
Yes this song about Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue and Sixx Am there was some kind of altercation between the two a few years ago at a concert or something.
I saw an interview Sully did with Aaron Lewis where he started talking about the effect music has on you. How a simple melody can invoke such intense emotion. He seemed to think there was a spiritual element to it which I found very interesting.
Godsmack definitely has that spiritual element to their songs. Just listen to "Serenity" and "Voodoo" they even have a song that's basically just instruments with some voice over on it called "Vampires". Very much evoking intense emotions.
@@Korindar oh yeah, I know them all too well. My wife has deemed "under your scars" our new song (We have a lot of songs).
Specifically Sully couldn't figure out why we react in peculiar ways to hearing a certain note. He appeared to dismiss the idea that it's conditioned or even millenia of tradition. He didn't get too deep into it but what he scratched the surface of was very interesting.
Ooh I love this band! Whatever is my angry song ,I play it to get frustrations! Always works 😤😁
I thought I heard that this song was about Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue but I never heard any details about it.
The story goes that Nicky ( all fat and bloated ) comes over to Sully giving unwanted advice and Sully Face pushed him out the way and told him to stay out of his business. I believe it . Vince Neil used to beat up TOMMY and Nicky all the time for picking on Mick
I think the ultimate Dis track is "Liar" from Megadeth. That song should be next, it's harsh!
Unforgettable is one of my favorite songs. I get full chills every time I watch the video.
Godsmack is an incredible band with a deep catalogue that deserves more love. I’d recommend some but been there done that. Not sure how you pick songs but I know they won’t be mine. Paying patrons only get love on these channels. The rest of us just have to wait for something we like
A good portion of their videos come from the live streams that people vote on so it’s not all $$$ driven. Sometimes they really wormhole on an artist or genre if you catch it right.
Is this song about you? It fits...
@@f.noggle oh how witty frank. Probably wasn’t the best song for me to complain on. But by all means you try spamming your suggestions on the next live stream and see where you get.
@@bigdaddymosh1964 I'm good on that. I barely watch their lives, or any uplads anymore. It was entertaining for a month or so tho.
@@bigdaddymosh1964 I'm glad you saw the humor in my post tho. All in fun.
Godsmack is my go to when I'm angry! Always make feel better. Whatever and Keep away two of my faves.
I love how Lex really gets into the beat of the music. She would be fun to rock out at a concert.
Whatever and Voodoo are awesome tunes to check out from Godsmack
They did Voodoo awhile back.
I'd really love to see you guys react to "Superman's Dead" by Our Lady Peace. It's one of the most unique vocals and nobody has done a reaction to it at all.
FINALLY!!! I have been dying for you guys to react to Godsmack!! They are definitely my favorite band & this is one of my fav songs!! It's the only band I know that does not have one bad song, they're all great!! Yall should do more!! Awesome reaction guys!! 💯 Thanks!! ❤
All I can say is I saw these guys roughly 20 years ago at The Cleveland College Convention Center and They Just Rock...
Their first album is off the chain ,, every song on there is good ,. Voodoo my fav off the album , t
"Cryin' Like A B... was my absolute favorite song from 2009. Great upload!
Ahhhh, Godsmack! One of my absolute favorite bands! They are amazing live!!!
Godsmack are great. Try;
I Stand Alone
Whatever
Awake
Shine Down
1000hp
Love you guys. Great reactions every time. Brad you were making me laugh on this one
Godsmack has some good ones, for sure. Gonna go ahead and suggest "The Game" by Disturbed as a follow up... Typical, aggressive, dynamic sound that Disturbed does so well.
If you like Godsmack, y'all should check out their Eagles cover tune "Rocky Mountain Way"
Great song and even better version by Godsmack..
The Eagles didn't write it, it was written by Joe Walsh before joining band
They do a great job on every cover song that they have done.
This is classic Brad "trying to figure it out" while Lex is over there just vibing "hell yeah".......awesome.
First concert was Black Sabbath, Godsmack, and Drain S.T.H in 1999.
I like the Motley story. Saw Godsmack open for them and blow them out of the water. I'm a big Motley fan, but they faded in later years.
Here's a few to add to you're list if you want.
Breaking Benjamin "Failure"
Breaking Benjamin "Ashes of Eden"
Breaking Benjamin "Without You"
Breaking Benjamin "Breath"
Breaking Benjamin "Simple Design"
Breaking Benjamin "Follow"
3 Doors Down "It's Not My Time"
Tonic "If You Could Only See"
Sum 41 "The Hell Song"
Sum 41 "Still Waiting"
Sum 41 " No Brains"
Creed "Inside Us All"
Creed "One"
Godsmack "Straight Out of Line"
Godsmack "Faceless"
Godsmack "Changes"
Godsmack "Re-Align"
Godsmack "Dead And Broken"
All Breaking Benjamin. No Sum 41, Blink 182 or any other band with numbers except a few 3 doors down songs. They should definitely react to Falling in Reverse, Bring Me the Horizon and I Prevail.
Love Godsmack!! Before they went big they used to play at all the local Rock Clubs around Massachusetts! Infinity night club was right by where I lived...Great Bands Great Music..GREAT TIMES!! 🎸💯👍❤️😁🔥
Oh I’ve always loved this song!!!
Godsmack has been a very consistent band. You can listen to any album they have and you will get wild up. Love GS
Fun fact! They started as an Alice In Chains cover and. Their logo is a similar rendering of AIC’s. Their name “Godsmack” also comes from the song “God Smack” on the album Dirt
Y'all need to watch the GodSmack drum battle live.
It's from a live CD they put out. Freaking incredible drumming by two amazing Percussionists.
Godsmack is hard hittin from start to finish live! Seen em` twice! They have a bunch of hits!
OMG! I can't believe you did Godsmack!!!! I love this song and please jump further into Godsmack!
Love Godsmack!!! You have to follow this reaction with their song " I Fuc*ing Hate You"!!!!
Great song
Godsmack : Eye of the storm. Banger!
Start by reading into what their band name implies, then with that knowledge you can comprehend a lot more of their style of diss'n. Some remarkable talent, one of my favorite bands. Y'all should get into some Seether as well!
I'm really loving you guys! You're awesome!
This song was written to and about Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue.
You dont get many diss tracks in rock. GnR have one called "Get in the Ring" where Axl calls out some music critics
And Shotgun Blues about Vince Neil!
Been waiting for you to hear more godsmack
This song was about Nicky Sixx from Motley Crue ,after thay went on tour and opened for them, they didn't get along.
I'd forgotten how much I like Godsmack! Thanks for the reminder.
I like their unplugged acoustic album the other side tbh that shits smooth
Whiskey Hangover, Love-Hate-Sex-Pain, Whatever, Under Your Scars, and Bulletproof!
Thanks. Legit band never gets old....ever.
This song was written about Nikki Syxx from motley Crue.
My favorite metal-esque song.
I heard this was written and directed towards Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue.
Hope you both are well
To put some context into the song This song is directed at Motley Crue's bassist Nikki Sixx
Got one for you, finally. Alt-J: Breezeblocks...actually anything from Alt-J. Best live show I have ever seen.
Yes! More Godsmack!
Feed Love! Starve hate. 🤘
Keep rocking this band!
You guys should react to Larkin Poe. They're two sisters from Atlanta. I'm not sure about Brad but I know Lex will get into them. Start with bleach bottle blonde blues.
godsmack. a catalog 9 miles long of pure awesomeness
The song is about Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe during the 2nd Crüe Fest tour which Godsmack was playing on. Long story short, Sully was acting like a bitch and didn’t like the backstage expectations that Nikki and The Crüe had. He basically called them has beens (although he was on their tour), and told them to quit acting like it was 1985. Fast fwd to modern day, Godsmack (excluding Sully) has since apologized and Nikki and has sold his portion of The Crües catalog for $180 million.
Agreed sully was the one crying like a bitch by making this song.haha! He even tried to get their album 1000 horse power promoted on Nikki sixx's sixx sense radio show after they tour but Nikki sixx denied their album to be promoted on his radio station..
I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the band Hole...fronted by Courtney Love the widow of Kurt Cobain. The song Celebrity Skin is a pretty good one.
Been trying to get them to do Hole for ages! But they should start with Violet, I think ;)
@@Gwenhwyfar7 Now that I think about it Violet does do a better job of showcasing what Courtney Love brings to the table.
@@adamguy6342 Celebrity Skin was their pop album. I love it too, but ya got to start with earlier stuff ;)
@@Gwenhwyfar7 I would also like them to do some Breeders.
@@Gwenhwyfar7 Hey, they did your song!
I saw Godsmack at St.Charles(St. Louis) arena. I security guard try to throw a kid out for moshing. Sully stopped the concert and had the security guard removed before he would finish the show. It was awesome to see him stick up for a fan.
This is a song about Peanut M& Ms
While on tour with Motley Crue ... bassist Nikki Sixx acting a fool about how his MMs weren't arranged to his standards.. and Sully confronted him a few times about his actions.. words were exchanged and the song was born lol
My favorite band of all time.
Ok, so for all the folks that think this song is some sort of Motley Crue diss track, please do the actual research before commenting.

Bad Religion- Godsmack
Whatever- Godsmack
Y'all should watch the video to this. Set in the MMA fighting arenas
The first song I had heard from Godsmack "Whatever" hooked me on these guys right away. Checkout Go Away and Bad Religion.
Sully Erna, lead singer and mean sumbitch has a softer side. His solo stuff can show you a different side of a headbanger On his album Avalon the song -My Light is about his love for his daughter and it is beautiful!
Godsmack really smacks you with their music. Another great one is Enemy. You should check out there somber song Serenity and acoustic version of their song Spiral. Love their early music too. It was so aggressive in their time 🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I'm eagerly awaiting for you guys to dive into Ice Nine Kills. Hands down, their album was album of the year last year. All their songs are about famous horror movies. You might want to "ease" into them, but do the lyrics videos, and you will ESPECIALLY appreciate the songs if you have seen the movies their based on. I would recommend starting with "Grave Mistake" (based on the crow) or "Shower Scene" (based on Psycho. But you really can't go wrong. Some are much heavier than others. Oh and I'm sure you guys know of Resident Evil, so I recommend checking out the music video for "Rainy Day".
You should watch the godsmack drum battle. Their drummer and their lead singer. It's a good time for sure
One of my favourite band
I beg you guys to watch the videos and have the lyrics up to read. To see Sully (the lead singer) and how that sound comes out of that little body. Plus he can play guitar AND drums (and isn't hard on the eyes at all. LOL) Godsmack is amazing and I rarely see anyone react to them which is a total bummer. Some more of my faves:
Awake
Keep Away
I F*cking Hate You
Straight out of Line
Re-align
This song was supposedly referring to Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. Not sure what their beef was. I've seen both bands in their prime live and they both kicked ass.
Sully is the President of the-He Man Woman Haters Club-some of his many of his duties. Great musician.
You did sublime now take to another level go 80s punk bring it I’m watching
I think we all have felt that without a doubt. Great reaction guys
YES!
Some have speculated that this song is directed toward Vince Neil of Motley Crue. Not sure how accurate that is though. Although Sully had some beef with Vince on the CrueFest tour.
They are from DFW as are Pantera.
Oh you guys, the official video is amazing for this song, it's a bunch of MMA kicking ass!! Go watch it 💜
Yeah he's singing about a drummer initials T.L.
My favorite Godsmack song has always been Voodoo.
Godsmack- 1000 horsepower is a great driving song!
I think Sully made this song about Nikki Six of Motley Crew. He toured with them years ago and didn’t go too well. Rock on!!¡!
this song is about Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx.
Yes! Pantera Walk is an Awesome song!!!
I read somewhere that Sully wrote these words about Nikki Sixx.
Great band , seen then live a couple times and they are amazing live greaT concert sully is that dude ,
By far my favorite Godsmack song. Yall check out the video of MMA knockouts set to this song!
It's about Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue
Hey we found a heavy one that Brad likes.😀 Like the crunch in this song
YES! Do the video next! You will not regret it! #cryinglikeabitch #ufc
I love the video to this song I love watching the drummer
Love Godsmack because Sully is a fellow Wiccan
and now I have to go watch the video lol get's me pumped!
Great band
