I am a 51 year old ENFP. I testify that this advice, if taken seriously, could make life soooooo much better. I wish I’d have heard it 40 years ago. Soooooo much wisdom in a way only an INFP can bring it. So good!!!!

Okay this is actually so accurate. I often find myself trying out new things, new hobbies and new points of views, but sometimes I get so lost in my explorations that I end up holding on to behaviors that have nothing to do with my personality, or spending my time doing things that I don't even like doing. That's why I sometimes have to just stop for a while and be completely honest to myself, find my center and my anchor, and let go of all the things that aren't really me. I usually feel way better after that.

It's funny how extroverted intuition really gets out of control, I laughed when you talked about taking food out of the fridge that belongs to someone else. When I was a very immature INFP in college, I would notice myself sometimes just DO these things, and think to myself, "why the hell did I just do that dick thing?" Another messed up thing that I did in college was that I took one of my housemate's shampoo with me to the fitness center in my gym bag because I wanted to take a shower after swimming; I was too lazy to put it back. I just let it go for 2 months. I know it seems like a small thing, but my housemate was really really upset with me for doing it, and I felt so ashamed for having done this. When introverted feeling is the main function, you have ridiculously high standards of conduct for yourself...however. Extroverted intuition is an extremely powerful force of nature and it just does what it wants. Knowing several ENFP's, I also know how manipulative they can be, even if they don't really want to be. I feel like if you're an ENFP, you have to work really hard to keep yourself under control. But I was just musing that, as an INFP, I really can relate in a way to the degree at which [Ne] can seize your mind and take you places you didn't necessarily want to go. But I can't imagine what it would be like if it were the dominant function...

as an ENFP, it seems like my Ne guides my Fi a bit, in that it takes me to places that I didn't want to go then, but later realize I wanted to go there all along

    • @darwinwatterson4568

0_0 yeah essentially the 'take you places you didn't necessarily want to go' is the feeling, all the time. However, learning from the infps i have known, it's not as chaotic when it needs to be ! :D also, i feel like listening to the inner Fi means that i make meaningful decisions, where i previously thought those decisions were meaningless.

the keyword “prioritization” really helped me conceptualize how the Fi assists the Ne. yes, all of the ideas have potential but which one truly ~resonates~? that is how Fi helps prioritize. it is hard! because while Ne is shouting Fi is whispering. humility required!
also.. you are a beautiful person! :) thank you!

Oh my gosh, yes. I have recently become aware of how physically painful and uncomfortable my inner world is. I was trying to become more like an Se user, which i believe my mom is,trying too hard to live in the moment. It makes physical pleasures complicated and stressful sometimes. Thanks :)

@@GeekPsychology I love to study about human behavior! It is a cool topic. When I was 16, my mom got me the book called "Type Talk. The 16 Personally Types That Determine How We Live, Love and Work."
I plan to study psychology in college in hopes of becoming a Socal Worker in the near future.

ENFP to shake up the system, alchemy.
Infuse with creativity and spice of chaos.
Freedom to create new life. Feels confining.
Fi - Reflective conscience, heart, inner world. How to become more anchored. Reflected on who you are. Not societal norms. Hone in who you are. How you feel. What’s important to you. Emotional impact on you & others. Internal emotional impact.

I'm shocked by how well you understand us! One thing you hit on really nicely is that we are very capable of being manipulative if we so choose - But, because our Fi is so dominant, we seldom ever WANT to be manipulative. A lot of the time, we'll take the loss on things we could have easily won because we don't want to be that person, to be someone who deceives and manipulates. We spend so much time carving out our moral identity, we're constantly weighing out the different options available, and almost every time we'll chose the 'moral' option over the 'effective' option because we value morality more.
Sometimes I think that adds to the perception people have of us being unintelligent or ditzy, without realizing that we have a complex inner world and we probably know just what outcomes to expect from our choices.

how it's like to be married to your opposite ma'am? I am just curious to know.. been contemplating on this matter for quite sometime..
by the way I'm an ENFP, single and just observing relationships around me.. just figuring out what an ideal or match.. (but I know we can't control this kind of matters)

    • @mistymorgan8068
      @mistymorgan8068 3 роки тому +1

@@definitelymaybe_cath I married an ISTJ. He is pretty healthy emotionally, but we challenge each other in different ways. He challenges me to stay more grounded and I challenge him to get out of his comfort zone. As long as you find someone that is a good communicator and open minded, you will be prepared for whatever challenges come. I've had to learn patience a bit though as he takes longer to come around to new ideas than I do.

I'm an ENFP who is often in the grip of Fi, but this was still incredibly helpful. As a teen, I was pushed by adults to develop more "I" language and I kind of took it far ever since. Because Ne is my dom function, if I spend too long in Fi, my energy gets very frantic and ungrounded. "If I just explore ideas of myself enough, I'll find her." I'm so into these concrete suggestions for engaging with auxiliary Fi, because it offers a specific, structured way to engage that function. You have really lovely energy, by the way. Thank you for sharing your insights!

So accurate! My experiences in life sort of “forced” me to slow down, and go into my inner world. By that I mean, I had to slow down when I became a stay at home mom. It was a VERY difficult transition for me, but here I am, 7 years later still at home with my second child. I feel a lot more well rounded, and grounded. I still do want to go, and create, meet people and help everyone haha, but I know how to delegate that time, and know when enough is enough. :) great video btw!

Interesting. Testers. Living the here and now prevents you to predict consequences for the future and promotes you to explore until an external factor prevents you from doing it. It's like extrapolation.

    Fi is so stupid.
INTP here, I recently had a fight (verbal) with an ENFP, 2 days ago, he called me and threatened me that he's gonna beat my ass. The next day, I tried to explain my side of the story, but he just kept insisting that, he did what he did because he "thought" that "I" insulted him once(don't know when), he said he had been pondering over that insult and decided to act out, I kept trying to tell him that what happened is, you "thought" it happened, but it didn't really happen. He kept insisting that I hurt him, but I didn't even do anything
