My question is kind of "out there" as of now, but let me ask this rhetorical question. We see that people can reverse or halt chronic conditions with this diet. I am wondering about those on dialysis. Can healing and recovery be significant enough that the kidneys start working again? If not, why? One has to ask, right? Thank you.
Dr. Wahls I would love to work with your team and Veterans. I am a FM certified Health coach, recovered from black mold, acute pancreatitis, EBV, and Herpes STD, post concussion syndrome and caregiver burnout 2 parents with cancer for 18 yrs, while raising 4 children (4 csections in 5 years, with one miscarriage) and a codependent of a partner, a surgeon, with several addictions. I was a surgical ICU Cardiac Rn and rotated in many departments, and carb binger before and during my pregnancies that led to post partum depression and burnout, I did alot of night shift rotations, thought I was healthy, and was very active. Recovered since 2014, also finding that I was dealing with an annoying parasite. My cousin now she is a female from being on meds over many years now is on dialysis it ruined her kidneys. So sad. You can't win. I know she had trouble dragging one leg, meds did help. She lives in Texas. Thanks
I had 3 cousins that have ms, one passed away a few years ago. She was 83 on my Dad's side of the family and I have brother and sister cousins on my mom's side of the family that had it. Then 2014 I was digging and laying patio stones and I had severe pain that night after 2 days went to a doctor. Long story short it took 18 months going from doctor to doctor and had a nerve and muscle biopsy done proved nerves were dead. Also a spinal tap, finally last neurologist sent me to cleveland clinic to Dr. Tavy there and I was diagnosed with CIDP, muscles and nerves act like ms, I though I had ms. No lesions on my brain said no. I have trouble walking from muscle and nerve damage. This happened when I was 72, now soon to be 78 25th of this month. I keep busy and have been canning now. I haven't in years. I am a diabetic now and take a thyroid pill and bp pill and I hate taking pills. I crave sweets which doesn't help. I need to do something to lose weight.
If you stop eating gluten you will lose weight. I did and I'm skinny.

I have CIDP diagnosed at Cleveland clinic in 2014.Nerves are dead. This started when digging and laying patio stones, bending over digging. Pain was so terrible. I went to doctor to doctor and meadvill hospital a neurologist Dr. morgan who sent me to cleveland clinic after having nerve and muscle biopsy and spinal tap. It took 14 months to get some ivig, I think way to late damage was done. I had a couple of times and not change. Hands are numb, feet are numb. Middle had so much pain even the sternum hurt everything in the middle hurt and put 4 inches around my middle. Swelling, I don't know what caused that. Spasms all the time. I am now 77. Frustrating. Now a diabetic and on thyroid meds and bp meds. Help
I'm completely sure there is hope. I recommend watching Terry Wahls' Ted Talk, because she provides a good plan of what one's diet should consist of, of the diet she has followed to treat her MS. I cannot fathom the pain you may be in, but I believe it's never too late. I also recommend Jennifer Myers, if you'de like some inspiration by someone who follows Terry's teachings. She has videos on what she eats in a day, providing some recipes you can follow if you'de like some meal ideas based on Terry's diet recommendations. You've got this, Donna! I believe in you.
We don't all recover at the same rate. Being younger and catching the disease early as well as having lower stress all make it easier to heal. There is good data to show that supervisors and upper management and professional people have more control over their lives as well as better financial resources and therefore less stress. There was a large study in the UK some years ago. Lacking financial resources is a huge stressor and stress has a very negative impact on health. Can you imagine the support system doctor Wahl had.

I'm always Leary of Doctors who monetize their knowledge. I haven't been able to find info on her protocol without buying her books, meal plans etc. her meal plans cost $69 for each level. I do think docs deserve pay, but her site is very heavily monitized. As she says in the video, "...if you want to see THE Dr. Wahls..."
I felt the same way, but I recently found out that the money is used to fund her research. Be mindful also that our expectations of her may be higher because she is a woman. Would we say the same if she were a man?
And you are getting this knowledge free on UA-cam. You can pick up her books at the library. Work with a dietitian that knows her work? My dietitian tells me there are many other ways similar to hers, but of course the draw to her is her amazing cure.

Seriously? Dr Wahls has so much free information all over the internet that’s also available through public libraries. And what is the cost of a book compared to the priceless knowledge you can gleam from them for about $20. The basic message is: cook your own food and eat at least 9 cups of vegetables from the 3 groups: green leafy, sulfur and colourful, add some organ meats. While Eliminating processed foods, grains (especially gluten) nuts, seeds, dairy and eggs. Every doctor monetizes their knowledge or do you think they work for free? Even if you’re in a country with public healthcare, your taxes are paying for their knowledge.

It can only be remission because there is no cure. There’s no rule to say how long remission will last. If you choose to believe there’s a cure, best to you with that.

Biotoxin illnesses: Please help us!
Forgive me if this jumps all over the place. Half of what I wrote erased itself and I had to put things back together.
My grown 36 year-old son is extremely sick and tried to commit suicide two years ago when he was living in his father’s house that has mold.
He then came to live with me, because I was retired, and I saw that he had the same symptoms a I had with mold toxicity and autoimmune diseases from breast implants.
I had moved to my house to get out of the mold and had it thoroughly tested.
I took him to a specialist MD, who is a functional medicine practitioner and he was diagnosed with mold and also several tick-borne infections. He was very sick, and then got Covid for the third time after Christmas of 21. This seemed to deal in something because he’s had neurological and psychological problems, along with mast cells and horrific pain all over his body, but especially his horrific head pressure that never stops. He cries out in pain and has no pain meds. Now, we’ve been taking him to an upper cervical chiropractor and he has several neck disc ruptures, and he sits like a vulture picking at his knuckle. Nothing will touch this pain.
We are on a good diet and he’s getting treatments for the mild and Lyme, but his symptoms are all over the place: shaking, tremors, delirium, anxiety, depression, pacing, picking, delirium, paranoia, etc.
His cognition has gone down and he can’t follow directions. He’s also very negative and wants to be dead.
I feel so sorry for him, and I now realize he needs more than I can do for him. I give him his meds, feed him, and he goes to a neuropsychologist as well.
At age 7, he had meningoencephalitis and was never the same, and then suffered a TBI a few years ago that damaged his head and neck (but we didn’t know they didn’t treat his neck).
He’s in a neck brace for now, but he may have CCI.
I’m going crazy with taking care of him. He can’t control himself with his actions and he’s making himself worse by sitting like a vulture all day.
I’m his caregiver 😮and I’m disabled, have chronic pain 😮, a broken arm and now 6 tick-borne infections (one being Babesia microti and it’s not just antibodies). My doctor said this is the first time she’s seen anyone with this as a live infection.
I’m still taking care of my son, need help, and his father is not remediating his house, so he’s been here for over 2 years. I’ve had no life since then, and I’m going broke with medical bills and food.
We are on a very clean and good diet, but he is in horrific pain and he has so many symptoms, I’m not sure which one is making him so sick!
It’s never-ending!!!
I pray and meditate for guidance, and I’ve been helped, but now I’m at a loss. I’ve always been able to put the pieces of the health problems together, but now I can’t.
His anxiety, agitation, pain, picking at his knuckle, and paranoia gets to both of us, until I can’t function myself, like right now. He needs a hospital where they know about mold and Lyme, to put the pieces of this puzzle together, and I don’t know where to send him because he has Medicaid.
He also can’t think in a focused manner and can’t remember anything, but pulls info out of nowhere. He’s in there, but I can hardly see him!
Please tell us where to go and what to do! I feel like I’m going to die along with him, but I keep trying to stay positive and get him to do what he likes or meditate. 🙏💕😮😮
