Wow that looks amazing. I see people install the recessed lighting on the sofit of the home but it has spots were there is no light but this looks so much better since its an even light all over the wall. Great job
That looks beautiful. I see a lot of people in my neighborhood are doing the leds but using individual bulbs but have dark spots. Your setup is perfect make the wall look even. Love it. Thank you
Hello thank you.. its called ALITOVE. Here is the link amzn.to/3rKtwRe There are many brands out there but these seem to work great. they do have the rubber coating but the rubber holders that come with most of these types of led kind of suck. I used romex cable holders instead. Hope it helps
This is amazing!! I want to do this to the side of the garage that leads to the front door with 5k color but i want to see if I can add motion detectors on both ends instead of timers, and the front where the garage door is at have red, white, & blue strips with a timer!!! 🇺🇲 THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!! Amazing video!! Would it be better to buy the aluminum rails with diffusers?
Hello thank you. I only added to the front due to the fact I didn't want to see the dots so yes the tracks would be great if you physically see the light or there some new LED type that is more of a solid even light but kind of thick and harder to 90 degree corners. I also added to both sides of the house about 50% to were the soffit ends and now the house looks even better. Also added multi color in the rear to match the pool and nothing but compliments. Since the rear is much higher soffit I couldnt do the same setup so I installed it between the gutter and the soffit and looks awesome. There are different ways to do what you want. When you finish your project send me a link would love to see how it comes out. Thank you
Super helpful video! Only question I have is, if I were to use a RGB light strip, would I be able to change colors with the remote provided while it is connected to the Lutron outdoor smart plug?
hello you should be able to change the colors of the LED. The lutron switch just turns on and off. Once you have the color you want selected it should stay the same every time you turn off and on the switch. I believe Lutron has an outdoor plug that does the same without having to run cables in the attic. So if you have an exterior outlet all you do is plug it in but I believe most of those LED kits are not water resistant. I have my neighbors crazy with the lights they want me to do them for their home. The thing people are doing now is using the recessed lighting on the outside of the sofits but I like mines better cause is an even glow on the wall. If you have a tall home like a 2 story then the recessed looks good. Oh just make sure that your led strips have no more than 5 amp rating for each of the switches. I believe when I purchased them that was the max for the switches. There are other brands you can use that are sold at Best Buy and Homedepot that will work with other things around the house. I love Lutron and worked with them for years in the residential market. Send me the link when you are done with your project I love to see new ideas. Thank you
Hello I had them for years and no issues and I am in South Florida which gets hot and humid. There are other options if you dont want to do the attic thing. You can buy a power supply like the one for landscaping lights but 12 VDC with photo cell option and plug into exterior outlet and just run cables on the soffit. This way is easier or you can use the outdoor Lutron Caseta switch and get an outdoor power supply. All depends on your situation. Thanks
@@mattmoraes1841 Hello I dont I just do it for myself but I used to do low voltage so I have my landscaping hooked up nicely. I like using the led strips better than most people that use the spot light option. Let me know if you got any questions. thanks
@@ExtremDIYI don’t really have an exterior plug but my soffit looks just like you so I would have to basically do what u did like run it inside the the garage I agree with u I don’t like the cones look. So what’s the material list for this job. Also what’s the biggest strip u can buy to connect to one switch/dimmer?
there are several ways to get it done. If you are going to do your landscaping and soffit one color you can us a strip that is single color that matches the landscaping lights like I have all 3K. the one that I installed is 32ft long strips. I then added to the side of the home some more the same color 3k. Each switch is 5 amps if I am not mistaken. You will need a power supply of at least 5 amps to run each strip or you can buy led strips that are 110 volts that plug into the outlet. For long distance get 24 VDC strips and power supply. So if you want color I purchased one for the back that is 82 ft long RGB so you can change colors but the 3k color on it is not accurate so I use it to match the pool or make it change colors. There are longer rolls of regular led strips you can use but you need to figure out a plan for design. these are the color ones I use it comes with power supply already and remote. amzn.to/48ROcam Also depending on the length you can use COB outdoor rated LED Strips which are nice since its more of a solid light but the longest I have seen is about 32 ft. Some of the links above can help you. Do your measurements and plan it out so it comes out looking good. let me know if you have any questions.
hello which part of the power supply do you mean. The dc connectors that can be used are these for the 24 vdc connectors amzn.to/3V1JnqD let me know what I can help with

Hello you are correct I did forget to put the heat shrink on each side. I was going to do it with tape and remembered tape peals in the heat with time and removed the solder and installed the heat shrink afterwards on both sides. I have so many neighbors that want it for their home. I tell them to do the recessed lighting and they tell me this way looks better and more uniform. Thank you so much
