I think Aamir Khan is the only actor that managed to become both a great actor and great star. SRK & Salman Khan are also a good actors but the number of experimental/different films done by them are fewer when compared to Aamir Khan.

Imagine the scenario -No SRK waving on his bdays and Eids. Mannat being one of the tourist spots in Mumbai. I don't think Ranbir will be able to enjoy that kind of a stardom even if he becomes a 'Superstar'. SRK has literally built a personal connection with his audiences esp the Millennials. I think Ranbir is more on the introverted side. He may become the most successful of his time, but not at the level of the Khans.

Doesn't have a social media handle, which creates a distance between actor and audience like in 90s . To see photos , videos people used to buy magazines, eatch tv interviews... He is versatile actor ( like animal is the recent example. Hard working Understanding,passionate.
He doesn’t need social media to stay relevant, he has made a name for himself and has created a brand that will last. In my opinion social media can ruin your reputation faster than it can build it, it doesn’t even matter if you’re a big celebrity. Plus I feel social media makes people so shallow now. I’m glad he’s not on social media.

I think it's not just the case for Bollywood even Hollywood in today's age is struggling to create bonafied superstars from their new generation talent pool and I think it's because entertainment in its complete sense now does not include only films with how large others forms of entertainment are taking centre stage like the gaming industry,animation industry or UA-cam content creation people don't necessarily need to rely only on films for entertainment when other mediums are providing better entertainment with much more satisfaction

Ranbir at the age of 40 plus is still struggling to maintain the tag of 'Star' wheras SRK at at the age of 40 was touted as the King of Bollywood because of his sheer dominance and successive hits . So if you want to praise Ranbir then that's okay because he is a brilliant actor but he hasn't grown enough to be compared to SRK who has grown into a global phenomenon.

Srk was right, Ranbir has the ability and work ethic to reach that superstar level. It takes much more than giving a few successful movies, you have to work very hard to establish yourself that way. He could have had an easy life and just been a rich nepo kid but no he chose to grind. He is a superstar in my eyes.

I don't think Ranbir is the next superstar in any way. I have seen in 'Coffee with Karan', every episode actors praise him, and other actors are the ones who have made Ranbir Kapoor respected in the audience's mind. Ranbir Kapoor has not created any place by himself. I don't think hiding from people makes you a star. It's your mind which makes you a star. If people like your thoughts, your personality, then you become a star. People like Salman Khan's personality and they want to become like him in real life. When you are connected with people by your personality, you become a star. Have you heard anyone even talk and give an example of Ranbir Kapoor to your friend? No, I don't think so. He only gets appreciated for his acting. That's it. I think he was kind of right though because today as you see entertainment is not limited to a particular actor. Today everyone is a star in his own niche. For eg. UA-camrs or tik tokers have a heavy following which means every other person is a star because there are so many platforms and in future there will be many more that's why stardom is losing its value . So I believe that SRK's creditability holds a higher worth. He was right, he will be the last of the stars.

I disagree that Bollywood makes someone a star, the industry in general may have some influence sure, but it is ultimately the public that makes someone a star.

Vidyut does not exactly come as Hero type, he can be a villain or extraordinary side character. He has a unique face, Tapsee is irritating & not likable under most circumstances. Outside actors succeed under excellent songs & resonable script, ex Gangster (E Hasmi, S Ahuja & Kangana, all outsiders) .

The only thing I guess is that no one wants him to loose the versatility and the range that he picks up with the scripts in his movies and not just follow the hit formula method with action or masala films but to do more nuanced and layered written films like Barfi, Tamasha and many more...

BTW while explaining history of superstars , you forgot to mention SRIDEVI , who is the first female superstar of whole indian cinema (both in north and south ). Between amitabh bacchan and 3 khan's superstar era it was Sridevi who was the superstar with great box office pull. Would appreciate if u consider to make a video on her .
naah not in south atleast . before sridevi there were many female superstars . if you are talking about north or india as a whole, you maybe right but only considering south , savitri was the first to do so. she was paid the same amount her male costars were paid, male stars were eagerly waiting for her dates for shooting . But Sridevi crossed the barriers of north and south (i think may be first actor/actress ever to do so) and had huge super stardom all over India. Though many legendary actresses like rekha, hema malini, aishwarya etc etc were from south but there were SUPERSTARS in bollywood only.

@@saddu1107 what i know is that sridevi was already a big star in south before entering bollywood coz she was working in south when she was 4 year old and already did more than 100 films in south before entering bollywood. But whatever, it is very clear that she was superstar in both north n south. Aishwarya definitely did movies in south, but only doing movies doesn't mean a superstar, else rekha, hema malini, etc etc had also been superstars in south but we know they were not despite doing many south movies. But definitely aishwarya is a great actress , I loved her in movies that i saw. She must have been a good star in south but i am not sure of her SUPERSTAR status.

I am a 90s kid and mere sare dost Star k fan the.. Infact Shahrukh is still popular in our group.. Ak mai hi tha jise aaj tak samajh nahi aaya ye log star k piche pagal kyu hote hai. I have always respected actors based on their acting.. And it feels good ki aaj ki generation ye stars k piche pagal nahi hai... Good to see aaj kal actors apne roles k hisab se famous hai naki koi faltu ka persona ki liye...
like SRV said in an interview, any number of flops doesn't matter to ranbir kapoor that is true, I think ranbir kapoor does not give a fuck about whether he will be last of superstar or not, he knows what he is doing and that attitude which shows that I don't always have to cater to the audience makes him a star.

My take on the topic: Ranbir Kapoor is a big star, so is Yash and others. But reaching SRK level fame isn't possible for them. SRK's personality, wit, charm and aura alone weighs more than all of new big starts combined. That's something so rare - when someone works so hard while being so gifted at the same time. That alone makes all the difference.
