Today I started building a homemade motorcycle. I'm building a motorcycle with a turbocharged diesel engine from a Volkswagen 1400cc car. Enjoy watching.

Nitrous oxide is how you make diesels go fast. Watched a video on a diesel drag car that used nitrous. Incredible!
Wrong . This is a 1400 cc car engine the TORQUE will make it go FAST enough .

"Throttlebody" is a anti shudder valve, basically a throttle plate that opens and shuts to build vacuum, the spark plugs are glow plugs

Didn't know these engines were 3 cylinder and had uniflow heads!
Cool build I wanted more LoL.. could have used the chassis pipe for the coolant pipe to get the engine coolant from the front to the back it would have been cool 😎😎😊

I love this bike. Suggesting it get a small shot of nitrous seems to have hurt some peoples feeling. it's sick as it is, but some of us have a speed problem

Вы сознательно вместо лёгкой телескопической передней вилки, где из неподрессоренной массы лишь колесо, крыло и пара труб, сделали неподрессореной массой всю переднюю вилку, даже фару... Тот случай, когда ради внешнего вида испортили эффективность конструкции.🤦♂️

Why would you want to be dirty? Why are welders frightened of going blind, that's how dumb your question sounds.
Gloves protect your hands, that is why you use them, a smarter person might have figured it out on his own...
Because your skin absorbs all those chemicals and lifetime of that can lead to some bad medical issues. Plus, why not?

I was trained as an engineer, and have been a keen hobby engineer all my life. So many of these types of video annoy the hell out of me. You see people doing cr*p like using scrap steel electrical conduit as structural tubing, threaded bolts as suspension pivots, and making engineering mistakes so basic that my Labrador Retriever could have spotted them......... And she's not even a particularly BRIGHT Labrador Retriever ! :D
You want to know what the biggest criticism of what I've just watched is?............ He's crouching on the floor to do stuff, when he SHOULD have built a bench to work on ! In another 20 years his knees and back are going to be hurting 24/7 if he keeps scrabbling around on the ground like that unnecessarily.
How I see it, if that's my biggest issue, his works pretty impressive. It's definatly good enough for me to subscribe so I don't miss the rest of this project. :)

This time and money could have been spent on much more meaningful things. There are engines a thousand times better than this, which are already ready and do not steer!
Better is always relative... 1.4 TDIs have been known to be amongst the most reliable diesel engines ever made, with many reaching 600k miles without engine failure. The also consume little fuel and deliver extremely high torque even for a diesel...
@@that_escalated_quickly2720 That's a big side conversation! I know PDI engines, smoking diesel garbage. But the main thing you didn't pay attention to! Not for motorcycles! The frame you made is a lousy piece of equipment, the engine is heavy, the brakes are bad, everything is crap compared to the ride characteristics of a regular motorcycle! Which is originally designed for a motor! Chassis, power unit, frame geometry, brakes, weight, shock absorber... so a motorcycle! Compared to that, what you did turned out to be a useless piece of junk, a waste of money and time! Don't tell me that you will go 600,000 kilometers with this smelly diesel engine and this crappy engine! :D

Did he change the clutch pressure plate or take some weight out of the flywheel?
Some older tractor diesel's started up with gas and spark plugs to worme the engine temperature so it could fire up when selecting the diesel controle then of course you shut the gas valve and spark. I do know VW made turbocharged engines but the diesels had the high pressure injection pump with high pressure lines to the injectors in the head.

Yeah they are glow plugs to heat the cylinders up for easy starting.
They are glowplugs.
