I’ve asked this under other videos but still really want an answer. Why didn’t the Dunmer in Skyrim just go to Winterhold? Winterhold needed a rebuilding and more than like 6 citizens total. The Dunmer, fleeing the chaos brought on by the red year, needed a place that would properly accept them or at least not be in a position to refuse. They likely would not have faced the same discrimination if they were in Winterhold, mostly because they would be a majority there and probably be able to properly rebuild the Hold. Not only this, they would also probably be able to vastly improve the College of Winterhold. Also they would likely make the province of Winterhold a mini Morrowind and thereby almost certainly much better. Last but not least there aren’t any Argonians in Winterhold. In Eastmarch the lizards are rightly kept outside the city walls, in Winterhold they aren’t present at all. Sure it’s cold sometimes but Winterhold certainly has a lot of advantages that the Dunmer were in prime position to take advantage of, all while avoiding the discrimination of Ulfric Stormcloak and being well out of the reach of the Mongrel Dogs of the Empire.
Riften is actually the best place for Dunmer seeking refuge from Morrowind. It's got a temperate climate, is the most cosmopolitan hold in Skyrim and is not a complete clusterfuck like 4th era Winterhold. Rebuilding Winterhold would take considerably much more resources than settling in Riften. The only advantage Winterhold has is its proximity to the Statue of Azura.

From there I went to you, in all your glory. As soon as we started conversing of our previous and forthcoming battle, and the truth of the tribunal, my computer had a stroke from your mere presence and closed Morrowind altogether. I think instead of slaying you Lord Dagoth I’ll go try to sweet talk that crazy Telvaani sorceress into massaging my spider. I am enlightened.
@@TheSOGchronicles - curious: do you play vanilla or some improvements like the Vulkan wrapper that runs the DX8 code in a modern api, perhaps the nvidia raytracing version or some morrowind overhaul version? I plan my third replay soonish since I have a new PC and all and still need to figure out the best way to do it.
@@TheSOGchronicles - look up the DXVK tool if you have any performance issues. It translates the ancient graphics api into Vulkan and makes way better use of the bottlenecked CPU especially. Even if you run it plain and simple it will benefit from smoother execution and less "strain" on the hardware running stuff in software because the hardware support is long gone.

I don't understand the other Argonians, the pros of being a Dunmer's farm tools far outwieghs the cons, like, you are fed, have a place to live in, and don't have to worry about other Dunmer hurting you. So long as your master follows protocol and makes sure their equipment remains operational via slave collars and ample amount of disciplime, I couldn't ask for a better lifestyle
