Because movie production isnt about making good movies. Just like everything else its mostly about profit. You might see one or two billionaires / millionaires whos essentric enough to throw their own wealth at a project but most of the time the industry follows formulas. Anythign that hasnt been proven to work time and time again will not guarantee profits and thus will not be risked. You will get your average action adventure film with a (brand) theme to it along with some bits of for the long time fans to point their fingers at and yell "I KNOW THAT, THATS THE THING FROM THE HING" but thats the best you can hope for.
As someone who desk-dwells all day every day, I love how the banter here feels like it was written by someone who actually has friends. It's refreshing compared to almost all the AI voice content.
As made obvious by this being my longest video, this was also the most expensive one to make at about 9000+ characters! I may have some more content like this, but long form AI generated content is probably not going to be the norm for this channel. That, and editing took about 5-6 hours before I was really satisfied with the end product. Tl;dr Maybe but definitely expect anything next to be shorter unless it’s another special of some sort. Thank you for watching and commenting :>
I love how Master Chief quickly shuts rules-lawyering Miraak up when Dagoth went for a cool flavor description on his fireball. Every table deserves a gigachad legend like Master Chief.
You gotta love how each of the four players represent the common archetypes for D&D games. Miraak is a MinMaxer, Dagoth is a 3.5 supremacist (which is both accurate to his personality and the only correct position), Alduin is the newbie, and Master Chief is the only truly competent and helpful player at the table (i.e. the DM's favorite).
IKR? That's how I like to think I played (which is very arrogant of me). I do like that Chief here wasn't the strongest RPer, and neither am I, but he tries to enable the more new or energetic players to get through the rules and have their fun. :)
Me on my first few times DMing: I mean, we can get into a compromise. Let me read how this thing (that I previously made clear I didnt want in my game) works just for you buddy. Me nowadays: (let me call your bluff) The door is over there buddy. Dont let it hit your ass on the way out.
God theres so many little details in this that just make it so perfect, you can tell the creator really knows their stuff. My favourite detail was the dragon Venomfang, which tells us the group is playing the adventure module Lost Mines of Phandelver, as Venomfang is one of the dragons you potentially encounter during the module.
Yes we just encountered him in our module, but were well under leveled. My brother, it's his first session, was shut talking the dragon. I immediately said I'm running away and told them all to follow. My brother didn't, and got hit with the breath lmao. I came in, dropped some gold, said sorry, dragged him out. Healed him and said you never, ever shit talk a chromatic dragon especially if you can't kill it yet.
Shaxx’s voice is the most thoroughly sampled, so his voice has a really good range and I almost never have problems with him. Sometimes he’ll say something in a correct way, but not the way I want him to, so I’ll have to do retakes on those, but he’s generally a pleasure to work with. The only issue is that he’s quieter than the rest of the cast, but that’s very easily fixed in post. Dagoth, for having such a shallow pool of lines to work with, perpetually surprises me with his range. I don’t have to do very many takes with him at all, he usually just gets it exactly right or exceeds my expectations. Miraak is usually problematic. He never raises his voice except for when he isn’t speaking English (shouting) so his range is a bit more narrow, but he did really good for this video! He takes to emphasis especially well (“They’re GOBLINS” always gets me!). Alduin is rough. He’s a seriously mixed bag so I try not to make him talk more than I have to because his samples where he is just… talking English words are very slim since he’s a dragon and is usually speaking Draconic. Still, with enough patience, you CAN get him to work, but it is definitely an exercise of patience. Chief is generally pretty good but that sort of “helmet effect” is not reliably replicated which bugs me. Besides that, he does the typical ‘John’ voice very well, but he really can’t raise his voice or else he won’t sound like Master Chief at all, so he becomes a much cooler toned character because making him vocally explode like I can make Dagoth do is impossible.
@@saberaqI actually really like Chief's calmer voice; it works well with his position as the helpful, supportive veteran player (the one we all want at our table, lol), imo.
Master Chief is such a solid guy in this. Just being cool and helping the new player next to home, never blowing his top. I wanna be Master Chief when I grow up.
@@krabsalad8769As far as I know, he's a decently chill guy in-game/universe as well. The original trilogy didn't have as much characterization for him as the books and some later games, but he still had his moments where he showed sympathy/compassion for the folks around him. I think one of the biggest reasons why Chief is seen in this light though is the VA, since he's pretty widely beloved by not just the Halo community, but even peopke outside of it (from what I know). But yeag, in the past 5 or so years I'd say, people have really started warming up to/enjoying the idea of Chief as a compassionate soldier, with an almost fatherly vibe to him. (Damn, that was a long paragraph, sorry)
Everything about this is just... right, it's incredible. Shaxx being the DM who wants to deliver a good game, but doesn't quite have the confidence to tell players (*cough cough* Miraak) when they're out of line. Chief being the wholesome, supportive player who just wants everyone to have fun and keep the game moving. Dagoth being the old-edition veteran who still, begrudgingly, loves the game. Miraak being the powergamer/rules lawyer who finds it necessary to point out the flaws in everyone's build. And Alduin being the new guy who just wants to be a cool dragon guy, but doesn't quite know how. Then the progression into them becoming more cohesive as a group, getting along despite their flaws and differences, and eventually overcoming the boss in a heroic final stand. This truly *IS* the TTRPG experience. And the music along with it? Brings a tear to my eye, bravo sir. 👏👏
I love that little time skip to when everyone has gotten comfortable with one another. Miraak's still powergaming but has calmed down, Dagoth isn't wishing the game was something else, and Alduin seems to know his shit a lot more. It's just a sweet moment
5 rules of DND: -Don't play what's good play what's fun -Explore personality of your character -Always be friendly to noobs -Never put players in a situation where there is a chance they can get a bs macguffin that can derail the plot cause they will always *always* somehow get it -Don't play with complete strangers make sure you know at least half the people playing
make a lil change to rule 1 and id say its perfect - it doesnt matter if what you're playing is good or not, but make sure you (and your party) have fun playing it. a concept doesnt instantly become fun to play just because its mechanically challenged, but i agree, weak and powerful characters alike can be unique and fun. fun #1 :)
@@nvender9062 Know a guy who's into it or go looking around local game stores, then ask about rules or sit in on a game so you can get the general idea of how to play

Ugh I've played with randoms from the game store once, and it sucked. Some old fart who was super fucking aggro for no reason. Then at another store I was a player with the store owner, his friend, a GM who was fresh off the boat from Brazil (which was great, he was actually a great DM even though his accent was pretty thick, and he needed some help with words sometimes) and a couple of my friends. Ended up being a good little campaign, though the store owner was completely new, and also a toxic player who loved to just cause alot of shit lol. Like, rogue who steals from the party, assassinates NPCs, typical new player behaviour lol.
Alduin's my favorite, he's an adorable noob. He's completely clueless and that's fine, he's new. Master Chief, I mean Chef, is a close second by being knowledgeable without being arrogant about it, and he's a healing Chad. I'd totally play a Rando with this kind of dynamic ngl. ...yes, even Miraak.

Dagoth and Miraak are what my 2 best friends are like in DND, one still thinks that his old builds and characters are still strong while the other is the very definition of "Meta Slave"
Master Chief and Shaxx are definitely being true to their characters there. I don’t know much about Miraak, Dagoth, and Alduin but from what I’ve heard it’s accurate there too
@@giantslayer9335 To explain why they are accurate: Miraak being a min-maxer. In lore he made a deal selling his soul with what could be describe a Lovecraftian demon god in order to free himself from the shackles of his masters so that he can rule the world after, only afterwards looking for any way possible to free his soul from said Lovecraft god trying any cheat or secret he can find in the proccess. Dagoth was the main villain of Elder Scrolls Morrowind. Morrowind being consider the 3.5e of the Elder Scrolls franchise the same way people consider Skyrim the 5e, aka people who love Morrowind or played Morrowind in its time are called Morrowboomers for a reason. Also add his overinflated ego in game too, "Please. I am a god. How can you kill a god" being one of his most famous lines. Alduin in lore long time ago was hit by powerful magic that transported him into the future, all so he wouldnt destroy the world in the mean time of his absence. So after being freed from his time stasis finding himself in a world he doesnt recognize he wouldnt know what the F is DnD, but still as a dragon considers himself better than mortals to even care about playing as one.

Because the only thing Hollywood is good at is casting couch'ing people and wasting money.
The Community Dungeons and Dragons episode was. Sadly it's been removed from streaming because Señor Chang was in drowface.
The game starting 2 hours after the initial meet up is comedy gold and also an all-too-accurate punch in the gut.

The whole dragon breath bit with Miraak getting so salty gives me life.
I love how Master Chief quickly shuts rules-lawyering Miraak up when Dagoth went for a cool flavor description on his fireball. Every table deserves a gigachad legend like Master Chief.
4:08 Master Chef
You gotta love how each of the four players represent the common archetypes for D&D games. Miraak is a MinMaxer, Dagoth is a 3.5 supremacist (which is both accurate to his personality and the only correct position), Alduin is the newbie, and Master Chief is the only truly competent and helpful player at the table (i.e. the DM's favorite).
Master Chief is the Actual Friend of the dm
yeah why would you want to play a version where every class gets to participate in the game? lmao
Yeah and the fifth guy is the most common, the guy who ditched.
5e has its place. It's easier for new players to get into. But 3.5e really is the pinnacle.
3.5 players are tabletop boomers.
I love how chief is a team player trying to make sure everyone just gets to enjoy it, and he just is like oh I am down? Sounds good
IKR? That's how I like to think I played (which is very arrogant of me). I do like that Chief here wasn't the strongest RPer, and neither am I, but he tries to enable the more new or energetic players to get through the rules and have their fun. :)

@@commanderzavala9328 no fucking way
I love how supportive master chief is.... He's just teaching everyone else to play
I’m glad it shows 😁
Yes we just encountered him in our module, but were well under leveled.
What the hell, the attention to voice inflection is absolutely perfect
Literally as natural as you can make it sound

I like how in the games he's technically a sociopath, but everyone canonized him being the chillest dude
John and Alduin seem like good players to have at the table

5 rules of DND:
-Don't play what's good play what's fun
-Explore personality of your character
-Always be friendly to noobs
-Never put players in a situation where there is a chance they can get a bs macguffin that can derail the plot cause they will always *always* somehow get it
-Don't play with complete strangers make sure you know at least half the people playing
make a lil change to rule 1 and id say its perfect
- it doesnt matter if what you're playing is good or not, but make sure you (and your party) have fun playing it.
a concept doesnt instantly become fun to play just because its mechanically challenged, but i agree, weak and powerful characters alike can be unique and fun.

I don’t know much about Miraak, Dagoth, and Alduin but from what I’ve heard it’s accurate there too
@@giantslayer9335
To explain why they are accurate:
Miraak being a min-maxer.
