Nicely done. Appreciate you including the issues you ran into and not making it look like you did everything right the first time. I agree, the in-cab switches are cool!
thanks for the video, after seeing all the work you did, I'm going with a after market bumper... I know this vid is 5 years old,, so how do you like the Winch now?
I sold the winch a couple of months ago, but I loved it for the 4 ish years I had it! The female side of where you plug in the wired remote, broke from its housing. So that was floating around, and made it hard to plug in at times. However, the port still worked.
that's actually pretty great. I like the switch setup inside, and I like that the winch sits low on the bumper. shame about the fog lamps tho. wonder if a different aftermarket puck style would fit
Looks great, been looking for awhile and really want to keep stock bumper. So many after market stuff sticks out and winch is up high in grill. Will be doing this when I get back to Virginia, thanks.
Hey my man! I have a 18´rubi with plastic front bumper! Im in desperate need of a winch, but i dont live in the US i live in Costa Rica, want to get a lightweight and prime solution without replacing the stock plastic bumper ( it came with no hooks or anything, just a normal plastic bumper ) . What winch plate do you recommend? THX!
www.cjponyparts.com/winch-plate-raised-for-oe-bumpers-07-18-wrangler-jk-smittybilt/p/SMB2804/ Looking at this but unsure if it´s gonna work, im on the hunt for a barricade winch too! I´m a newb! : D

BRO and a JEEP passenger side 2”7/8 drivers side 2”3/4. I think i figured out a way to make it fit, I’ll probably put it in a video if it all works out. (Probably just gonna space out the bumper further out using washers, and that will give me enough clearance for the fog lights and harness)
bandboffroad I’m saving for some. For now the stock will do the job. My eyes are on the ARB front bumper and the AEV rear. JCR makes some good stuff too!

Nice job! I like the top mount for the controller and that in-cab switch is very cool!
Put pods in the foglight holes, or make plugs for then with a 3d printer

TikkerLoS yeah, still looking for a fog light that can fit in there. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

I would look for LED lights on Quadratec.. they shouldn't be as deep
you should cut the ends and add caps on it will look perfect 👌🏻
Nicely done. This is exactly what I was looking for... U rock
Xcentr1cK I'm glad you found this video, have a blessed day!
Apex winch from Harbor Freight is a really good winch
Great job Chris,,,, time to go stubby front bumper.
MUDTRAIL no stubby for me, saving up for an ARB full length front bumper
Do you have a item number for the winch plate ?
who makes the plate/base for the jk that fits without mods?
this is the only winch plate video on youtube.
Jeffrey Caulfield is that a good thing or a bad thing? Haha
Looks great, been looking for awhile and really want to keep stock bumper. So many after market stuff sticks out and winch is up high in grill. Will be doing this when I get back to Virginia, thanks.
hi great video!!! inspiration to make mods on my02 jku, but why put "face down" the f55 pin? I'm afraid to drop it down
Alessandro Concas thanks! And it’s just the way i did it. It doesn’t matter which way it is positioned!
Good Job with the video. Were you able to fit your fog lights after the winch install?
Cappy Sabir nope, i need fog lights that are more shallow.
@@developmentdivision122 Putco makes a really shallow depth LED fog light. It's expensive, but it probably would work.
Cappy Sabir yeah... way too expensive. I'll just hold off on fog lights until I get a new bumper.

N - R i q u e well that depends, do you want the winch to be mounted on top of the bumper or in the bumper (like mine).
@@developmentdivision122 I don´t know! Haha! Whatever is easier to install I guess! Love the vidz dude!

@@developmentdivision122 Thk u kindly brother! Big hugs!
Jeep looking good bro
Tuke Ikachana thanks man! It’s still a work in progress, but it’s getting there.

Hey man how much weight did you save with synthetic rope and fairlead?
didn't weight it, but about 15-25lbs? The steel line weighs about 5x as much as my synth line. It is a big difference.
Dude, everything very nice! Switches on the inside etc. but you need to get a new bumper
miezekatzeschnurr i know. I just have little to no budget for that at the moment :/
Could you fit LED fog lights?
Steven L yes, you could. A couple brands make slimmer fog lights that will work.
Would you measure from the outside lip of the fog light on the bumper to where it hits the winch? I’m about to do the same set up

Nice work dude!
Hal 9000 thanks!
9500lbs held on by a single screw
Shayne crazy right? But you should never use a winch all the way from the screw pointfor recovery. At least 6 or 7 rolls in.
Cut the bumper down, and install the stubby caps..
Hal 9000 i like the look of the full length, am i weird?
@@developmentdivision122 not weird... Lol
Nice video👍
Bomb ass jeep
mark maiato thanks man 😋
Cool instal but you should get a aftermarket bumper way better i like the JCR frame cut bumper

I currently have arb front and rear i will sell mine when i upgrade to JCR
bandboffroad I'll buy them from you! Are you on instagram?
Hay man IK its been a few years but would you still be interested in buying front and rear arb bumpers. I also have Smitty built tire carrier
very nice.
What a huge waste of my time.
