Here's a bit of trivia. When Philippe Mora and Christopher Lee went over to Europe to do the filming, they were greeted by thousands of cheering people at the airport. When the director expressed his astonishment at how popular the production was, Sir Christopher replied, "Oh no it's not for you dear boy, it's because I helped them kill Heydrich!". That's a true story...and he did too!

Look, he played assholes and monsters in movies, but in reality he was a war hero. He was also royalty. He had NO NEED for money.
He was a gentleman who kept folks working for years.

I met Christopher Lee on the set of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and had the privilege of a small conversation in between scenes. I remarked i had watched Howling 2 and Wicker Man that weekend and Christopher Lee groaned as he looked to the studio roof! HA HA ... i laughed at his reaction and i said, ok the story is confusing but Sybil Danning was H.O.T. and although the fx were kind of lame they were still ok ...Christopher Lee raised his eyebrow at me and talked about Wicker Man for 10 minutes ... great day!
That story is pure gold!

So, I remember seeing an interview with Joe Dante and he said that on the set of Gremlins 2 that Christopher Lee actually came up to him and personally apologized for this movie.

You are very brave men to actually sit through this film more than once! I tapped out after the first 20 minutes and never looked back! Easily one of the worse sequels of all film history!

Salems Lot 1979, great call for a review. Mr Barlow is in my opinion the scariest looking vampire ever put on film. Its just a shame we didn't get more of him in that two part made for TV movie. Was scary as a child for me.
Good call pal, the 1979 version of Salem's Lot with David Soul and James Mason I still reckon alongside Nicholson's Shining the best ever Stephen King adaptation's.

I just LOVE this movie :) Filmed in my country during the "dark ages" with lots of local actors and Saruman himself. It is so bad but so good at the same time, my guilty pleasure for sure.
If you ever get Christopher Lee in Translyvania , please ask him to become Dracula again.

it goes in a totally diferent direction from the original, feel like a forced sequel. Is good they tryed to make it more in the vain of clasic monster movies, you know transilvania stuff and magic, i mean they got christopher lee involved and everything, unfornatelly they lacked the production, writing and direction needed to make it work. Im sure in other quality hands following this concept, it may have been a good movie.
The arrow blu rays been sitting on my shelf for so long as i dont wanna watch this alone! Looks like a good chuckle with a mate :p

So I was watching The Green Knight the other day and I swear I saw Garys double as a Knight of the round table.
You guys shouldn't refer to it as Captain America and Dracula fighting a pack of werewolves. That makes it seems far more awesome than it actually is. I would watch that movie though if it existed.
To be completely honest, in the balkans and elsewhere there is a certain overlap between certain legendary creatures which you could call vampires and certain which you call werewolves. But I doubt that was intentional.

I know you guys have had to pick some more obscure movies due to copyright crap on UA-cam lately, but to be honest it is appreciated. Great hearing about movies forgotten in the mainstream but still provide great entertainment. Thanks for doing this. If you ever get the chance do Devil’s Island 2021. Someone needs to review and explain this pile of crap to me
Now a slightly older man, I see EVERYTHING this film could've been. I both love and hate it.

Its a perverse fascination I have, to see how others respond to this movie.
Its really is like a movie that a someone would make in their back yard with their equally untalented friends.
Love it or hate it, this is still a BAD classic for me! I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a GOOD BAD movie like Trolls 2 or anything like that. But a good bad film in it's own way, if that makes any sense lol you gotta love Christopher Lee in whatever he's in! Great review you guys! Really enjoyed this one! Looking forward to the Halloween movie reviews next week, you guys!

The scene described at the end with the werewolf boy and the werewolf priest neighbor was not in any version of the movie that I’ve seen; is this in the American cut?

This movie is truly a guilty pleasure for me.
I love this movie. It is so funny and weird. Every single scene has something weird about it. Now, for those who expected horror, it will be a huge let-down. But I watch it to amuse myself.

It's infuriating when you keep hearing about people who take over existing franchises and put in absolutely no effort into learning the lore. The guy who directed the second movie never even watched the first movie. You would think if you're taking over a franchise that would be day 1 stuff. There's so much of that it seems. Hell they just release a video about Marvel directors knowing nothing about the franchise.
A shitty movie, but I have no problems with Transylvania as a setting for vampires _and_ werewolves. Transylvania is described already by Bram Stoker as a place where all kinds of supernatural beings flourish, and allusions on werewolves are rampant in that novel. A lot of wolves appear in it too, and are hinted at being werewolves.

And how ridiculous the theme was and still corny today and the painting in stirbas temple is an reference to the film cannibal Holocaust by Ruggero Diodatto

It's a great film in the tradition of The Return of the Living Dead. That had Quigley, this had Danning. Far sexier.
Outside of the original “Howling” the rest of the franchise is bloody awful. Even the great Christopher Lee could not save this mess! One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen!! You’re reviewing the entire series...hang on, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!!! Cheers!!🍻 🥂

It's amazing to me that the first Howling was so good and the rest were such crap. Maybe Howling 2 is the real problem. After making such a terrible movie they just gave up on the series. They had places to go after Howling 1 to which is what was so frustrating.
I think this is the first review where Ian didn't have a favourite scene! 🫨🫨

Even the legendary horror great Christopher Lee once in awhile appear in garbage like this needed a quick pay check he later apologize to director Joe Dante in appearing in this abomination. Sybil Danning look like she was having a good time making this tripe. Stay clear from this movie!

Why do you keep saying that the first movie 1981 “The Howling” was set in New York!?” The Howling was filmed and set in Los Angeles California and also filmed and set in Northern California! Just because you see huge skyscrapers doesn’t make it New York City! LA has a huge downtown area with massive skyscrapers! Where do you get the idea that the original 1981 “The Howling” took place in New York City? For one thing, palm trees 🌴 do not grow in New York City! Ugh!
I think it says on the DVD's case they review. The summary of the original HOWLING had it saying that Karen White was from New York. Also the VHS I watched that I rented. The ending is a little different. It ends with Rebel asking the violinist which way to the airport. And then after the plane takes off, we go to the credits.
