Fans of Tom Cruise: They get to watch a great groundhog day-esque action thriller starring Tom Cruise.
People who hate Tom Cruise: Literally a 2-hour horrific death montage of Tom Cruise.

The most logical way to follow this could be by making a prequel exploring the life of Rita because in the manga there is a lot of stuff that in this movie is not covered.

Yeah. This is a great film. One of the best in years.
The guy who wrote the book - said it was playing computer games that gave him the idea. Playing computer games - he'd get killed over and over but just respawn and eventually get past the things that killed him. At the end - he'd be congratulated by the game for being so great - but he felt that he was hardly worthy of such praise since he'd had to die enumerable times to get there.

The Mimics remind me of the Zerg to an extent. The Omega is very similar to the Overmind, Alphas could be seen as Cerebrates, since when either of them dies, they get revived one way or another (through time travel or reincarnation) and the Drones being basically Zerglings just much stronger. Pair this with soldiers wearing power armor, this is the closest we could get to having a Starcraft movie. Though I hope someone one day will prove me wrong...

Great movie. Very entertaining, hope they make another one. Will definately pay to see it.
Core concept of the movies is like a one big, open world video game with unlimited lives that restarts the game when dead, atleast till he "loss" the ability after blood transfusion.
Think of everyone else as NPC except cruise and the main alien characters.

Excellent movie. If Halo or Warhammer 40k adopted this style, without the time travel aspect, plus some Starship Troopers landing action. Goddamn epic
