Well..I don't have the ice bath experience and after a few times of being in freezing cold water in the winter in the Atlantic, I sure hope the cold water days are done.

I hate cold water, I only take hot showers so I have nothing to worry about 😂. But I agree, while the are undeniable PRO’s there are some definite CON’s.

I usually do this with my arms. I bench a lot and I'll dunk my arms wait a few minutes and i feel better in my elbows

I was wondering about this too. Thank you for speaking up on the risks involved. I've been around a couple of ppl who went into hypothermia and it's scary!! At summer camp when I was a girl we were tubing and the temp fell really fast, it started raining and one of the gals fell into the river. Got hypothermia! It's scary. I like to ice bath my face to wake up (I'm chronically ill) but that's about it for now.
Oh my goodness, that sounds very scary. The risks are not discussed enough considering how much it’s promoted as being super healthy. There are definite cons. Thank you!
It comes down to doing your own research, Wim Hoffman has lots of info knowing your own body is most important.
Our practitioners have always recommended doing hot cold showers or wearing frozen socks instead of cold plunges, (for the immune system).

When the weather turns kold I'm NOT taking a bath UNTIL it warms up,, just wiping down with a HOT towel..
Warm baths are nice in the winter
No way with fibromyalgia and it would cause a copd flareup which seems to be genetic too. Mother and sister. Cold is miserable in winter. Got heart issues starting genetic. Caught it early. Many on one side of my family died at my age or earlier. Just ice packs on swelling from injuries. I'm a clutz.
I should be in the south but housing is insane for less. But glad I didn't make the Florida move. Someone had a 3 bedroom for 65k at the time including fixing up and the place nextdoor was for sale. Small town with some acreage. Taxes, insurance have gone crazy there. Friend's sister is leaving after most her life living there. When taxes go from 3k to 10k a year. Yep. So many flooded the area from other states.
Right about the COPD flare up. Ice packs are good if you have a sprain or similar injury, however it’s not for everyone and not for many ailments or injuries. Oh and I would join you moving down south, I can’t do the Canadian cold anymore!😂
My taxes did that. Went from a few thousand to over 10k in the past few years and I’m in Ohio and kind of rural, or at least I was. They are turning it into a smart city now and so I’m trying to move to rural eastern Kentucky. Can’t afford it here anymore.
