now this is the kind of content i love, its not a multimillionaire boasting about having another lambo or how he has the worlds first ______, its a guy working on cars he has an emotional attachment to that is many times their value, but has a reason to do it. he loves what he does and why he does it, and he isnt a know it all mechanic and that gives me hope that one day i can build my dream car knowing that another average guy can revive cars he loves.
Your grin while driving it home is why we work on our cars. It is not to impress others but the joy we get from the connection with vehicle. The family history just makes it that much more special. Keep up the great work and do not stress the content you share. We are just enjoying the ride as much as you are.
I really envy you. Having vehicles with a family connection is amazing! Nobody in my family was into cars, and I dont have any of the vehicles I grew up riding in. While you Dad and Grandpa are gone, they will always be riding shotgun in spirit. Keep up the the inspiring videos...keep learning...and keep pushing onward.
Now you can make new Memories to go with your old ones!!! Maybe you will be the father or grandfather teaching a little one to drive!!! Great video!!!!
I love how excited in getting this family truck on the road. Looks like your daddies eyes were bigger then he could eat. Lol. You made me smile. Keep moving forward on the mustang. You are a good man. These things could never be replaced. THIS is what you tube was made for. Idea, have a rebuilt weekend party. Invite all your family and friends to get it fixed. Good luck. Neal
First and foremost, what an amazing and lucky thing to own, a truck your grandfather AND father owned! Let alone the truck you learned to drive in! Love this build. I'm looking for your previous videos now. Patina this, and enjoy learning on restoring it. There is so much history you will cover up. Paint it when you're ready to hand it down to yours. Thanks for the video.
I understand the joy you experienced driving your grandad's truck home. My grandad went to buy a brand new Ranger back in 2020, and when they offered him $300 for his 99, he threw me the keys and told me he'd rather it stayed in the family. This truck was his retirement gift from Ford, and they ended up giving him the last truck he took off the assembly line. I absolutely love that truck, and it has since had it's original 3.0 V6 removed and a 3.5l EcoBoost put in it's place. Thankfully he is still here with me to see me enjoy it, and give some, "disapproving" glares about the new engine. But the smile on his face ripping that ol' gal down the strip told me he loves it as much as I do, over 20 years later.
Grandp and dad.., there always there from when you started working on it to when you pulled out on to the road to when you pulled up to your house. That's why you made it home they wanted it there. I have 1 video of my 94 f150 on UA-cam this time last year I'm ready to do my 1yr update. It was my wedding present 17yrs ago. Sentimental value. Memories. Good luck. Go Canes!!
So cool that it belonged to your grandfather and then your Dad and now you . Coop leave as is as fsr as the paint. I have a 93 lx 5.0 that's reef blue that needs paint but I think I'm just going to leave it as I'd or get it wrapped. Hopefully one day 1 of my grandkids will own it. Keep it going
I'd like to see a full restoration for this truck. A nice fresh paint job would be awesome! Everybody seems to do the whole "patina" thing, which is fine, but I'd like to see something different. I have a '99 Mustang that's going in for paint soon. Very excited!
Enjoyed the drive home! The ole Ford is looking good. I’d leave the outside patina the way it is and just get her mechanically dependable. You are doing great and thanks for sharing this with us!
Hey man that was beautiful to watch, especially since your grandad taught you how to drive in the truck, himself and your dad would be so happy to see her on the road again.👍🚗👏
I'm really happy for you and a little jealous. As someone who knows about as much as you do (maybe less) when it comes to car repair, this was a lot of fun to watch. I wish you many happy years with this truck.
that smile is what makes a car guy a car guy...... we understand brother congrats looking forward to see everything else u bring to the table!!! cant wait to see what all you do!!
Learn from my mistake, I parked a truck behind our daily drivers and one morning late for work I jumped it the car and as always backed up and Crashed into the truck. Forgot it was there. Congrts.
As someone else mentioned you may want to change the coolant next, probably replace that old Thermostat too. After some break in miles change the oil again just to see how it looks because it sat so long. Good video 👍👍
George Jones is good too. White Lightning, etc... I think that sensor in the glove box is actually an actuator - specifically the computer-controlled vacuum switch for the EGR valve.
That was a great feel good video. I'm happy for you. Makes me wish l had my dads '78 f150, he sold it around 1990, at the time it wasn't a big deal to me but now l would love to have it to drive around in. 👍👍
You know its america when their are 22 bullets and random 12 gauge shells in your glove box with diabetic test strip's and halls. Glad you got the truck. Your smile says it all
I'm happy for you man. I also get what you were saying while driving as I think about the same things sometimes. You took a truck that sat a long time, fixed it and then drove it home. High five.
Love the yellow knife in the glove box. Had a black one years ago. Was a champion spark plugs advert. Very cool. Some old winchester western .22 ammo too. Nice.
I am happy for you, there is a country song you should check out "David Ball Riding With Private Malone". Not the same vehicle or ending, but it goes with you road trip. You can look up the engine ID number to see if it go with your Vin number being you a computer guy.
George Jones! My favorite country singer! Acording to me, he is the best. You should listen to him. The Race is on from George Jones is a great song to begin with.
also a universal joint 1/2” drive (think that’s the name idk) and an extension that fits on your impact gun is really great when taking those bed bolts off. i had to take my bed off twice and it wasn’t that hard with the u-joint, extension, impact gun and putting something a bit heavy on the top of the bolt to prevent it from popping up. but nice work! it’s really coming together
Watching these videos really does inspire me to work on any sort of project car. I've had my eyes on this foxbody Mustang that I biked past last month, but I really don't know if I should get it!

You are blessed to have a vehicle that belonged to your Grandad. It is definitely a keeper !

Very nice to see the joy on your face while driving granddads truck home.
It’s all about the the memories.

That's great, I know your grandpa was right there with you!!!
Brilliant to see how happy you were driving the truck home thinking of your grandad,I reckon he would be proud that your driving his truck

It's been a few months and it's still running great! I need to fix the AC though.

Way to go man.
You make my day when you post. Keep it up man. Love everything you do
As someone else mentioned you may want to change the coolant next, probably replace that old Thermostat too. After some break in miles change the oil again just to see how it looks because it sat so long.
Good video 👍👍
Get a grille guard some led lamps and a fibreglass topper for the bed...b
George Jones is good too. White Lightning, etc...
I think that sensor in the glove box is actually an actuator - specifically the computer-controlled vacuum switch for the EGR valve.
Nothing like a good ol truck in the driveway
Definitely very happy for you. That is a sweet ride!
You can be so corny and lame but you give me laughs and enjoyment. But you are a good kid and keep fun coming.
Love the connection with your grandfather. Good memories.
Wow, she sounds great - nice work!
Even though you have surface rust, you should protect the rest of the paint that's there. Clean, wax it, do something, clay bar?
lmao those intro's 😂 cant wait for the next F150... wonder how it will look... detailed. clay bar, cutting polish and wax
That's awesome! Congratulations, all the hard work is paying off.
I love to see another OBS on the road good job young Feller keep up the good work
That was a great feel good video. I'm happy for you. Makes me wish l had my dads '78 f150, he sold it around 1990, at the time it wasn't a big deal to me but now l would love to have it to drive around in. 👍👍
Your concerns are valid brother but have faith and stay positive. Either way, you have a paid for 93' F150 4x4 HOOAH!!
I can't wait to have this moment with my grandpas f150 I'm restoring
Your Grandpa evidently was ready to shoot, love, measure or sew. Lol
You know its america when their are 22 bullets and random 12 gauge shells in your glove box with diabetic test strip's and halls. Glad you got the truck. Your smile says it all
Use some lubricant to joint rubber onto metal. Slide on much easier. Love the channel 🤙
I'm happy for you man. I also get what you were saying while driving as I think about the same things sometimes. You took a truck that sat a long time, fixed it and then drove it home. High five.
Good on you keeping family memories.
Congrats man , it’s gotta feel nice to drive that knowing it’s history and that it’s been in your family for that long
"You did it my way". Love your vids
I will give you this, you're pretty darn creative when it comes to intros.
Love the yellow knife in the glove box. Had a black one years ago. Was a champion spark plugs advert. Very cool. Some old winchester western .22 ammo too. Nice.

When you replace the tires please keep the white tire lettering and an aggressive looking off-road tire.
i wait all week for your videos
I know your grandfather was definitely sitting right next to you as you drove er home..
Peace my friend..
Love the intro!
that dash pad is in great shape. most of them crack and look bad. mine used to look like yours then it got a decent size crack in it
also a universal joint 1/2” drive (think that’s the name idk) and an extension that fits on your impact gun is really great when taking those bed bolts off. i had to take my bed off twice and it wasn’t that hard with the u-joint, extension, impact gun and putting something a bit heavy on the top of the bolt to prevent it from popping up. but nice work! it’s really coming together
You should wax it even though its got some paint issues the wax would help the paint out. Rubbing compound it first.
Give the old girl the beans 💪
Good job on Getting her back on the road nice place you have
The brown bottle in the glove box looked like “monkey blood”. Great for cuts if that’s what it is. Burns like hell though.
The coolant should be changed ASAP 😎👍
if you let it sit, at least fire it up every 6 months, and let it warm up to cycle the coolant and oil, Driving it is good.
Congratulations. Your gramps had great taste in music!
Good for you. I'm sure your Grandfather was right there with you.
Watching these videos really does inspire me to work on any sort of project car. I've had my eyes on this foxbody Mustang that I biked past last month, but I really don't know if I should get it!
You should totally do it if you're into Mustang's and it's a good deal!
Intro brought a tear to my eye. 🤣
See?
Sweet ride
Check all the bushings.
Great video and truck😃🇳🇴

That's like $800 worth of .22 ammo right there.

Brown bottle was mercurochrome for cuts burned like heck I’m old
thank you
I am nervous for the adult thing
Well ok then
Do you think you could have a first wash on years video or even have it painted? I have a 98 f150 and I love it's my first truck.
Was that an old metal Bandaid box in the glove box? I haven't seen one of those in a really long time.
Ford trucks are great trucks
Way back twenty years ago. 😂

How are the Holstein swirling out?
I just want to ask you if you need a pair of bucket seats for your Mach 1 which I found a nice black pair of highback bucket seats for 160.00.
