I prefer the shorter games. Often times the plays and depth of strategy exceeds that of lengthier games. I want to see a game of viper vs the expert persian doucher. This wasn't peak persian douching. Or even douching.
It's a pretty all in strategy and once your opponent is on to you and responds he has a massive advantage. It seems like Whoop was too mentally invested to think of something else, so he went for it and lost.
I guess there is no turning back on this strat. Not against someone like Viper. You either go all in and try your hardest to make it work or you don't.

(Oh and there is going to be a crypto bubble in 2018, sell when BTC hits 20k!) Good luck and God help us all!
God I hate those early rushes. That's why I play very defensive and start building towers right from the start, mostly works out well and keeps attackers shy.
But you will waste value resources if you always do that, and you will be in disadvantage. That's why scouting is very important. If you still chose to play defensively, you should find if he is sending vils to make your own tower first, or if he is doing military buildings, so you can do your own too and go for counter units.
Towering yourself is usually not that worth if you dont have any knowledge about what your enemy is doing Say he is krushing, your towers will mostly be ineffective if he microes his knights well enough. And he will also have access to rams, which overall would make those towers fall easily Say he is booming: you just lost a huge amount of stone which could be used to build a castle later
I would say it was a matter of luck beside viper's high level of skill. If whoop could have walled up before the archer's arriving, the game would be lost for viper
We can't see Viper's resources, but yes I would assume he needed to delete the barracks to be able to afford the houses he spaces around his TC. Once the houses are started the militia go in and viper has no militia to counter with. Then the TC drop comes in
a while ago hurleyfreestyle did the same things against top players he even owned viper in 2 or 3 games it was hilarious lol, and thanks t90 it was a great game!

Don't really see the point of doing that in Feudal, you could just do a normal trush at that point. I think most of the strength of this is capitalizing on how terrible militia, the only military unit you can build in the dark age, is at punishing it. Or preventing it in the first place, would be hard to have military units that early to stop the builders. Feudal that isn't the case as you can have easy access to archers to punish their more exposed eco.
in feudal age your opponent will have a better economy, better defense options, etc. It would be too difficult to pull off a persian douche in feudal simply because it is so risky and the enemy has too many villagers, military defense potential, and more widespread economy. Perhaps in low elo games it can work, but the persian douche is already a gamble, and risk of failure rises exponentially the longer you wait
nice!!!_!_! i would build enough around tc. and ½ houses ½ single palisade... after watchimng this :)... but i prob wouldnt scout it. if you get douched, attack all vills building while wall it in if their vills are not walled in?
Jacob Linding Pedersen persians vills are actually outside of tcs range so u cant atk em.. and atking with vills its risky as the tc Will go up and then rekt ur vills..
but hypothetical wouldnt it be best to actually attack with a little more vills than him. task 1 vill to each of his. so he cant build and then the rest it a grouped up group. or is it really that easy to get the tc up. I think that even if you attack with all vills you will have less idle time. i was just wondering why viper wouldnt do that with his god micro. and you can allways run when tc goes up. it will at most get 2 vills
I have seen the town center rush be successful in some UA-cam videos and I want to see the town center destroyed when people know how to deal with it. Or if it is not possible then town center rush is objectively effective.
If your town center is destroyed you are allowed to rebuild it. Which is why in order to do this strategy you have to delete your original town center to do it. Only really works with the Persians because their TC's have a lot of extra health.
Nvm, when your TC has been destroyed you are allowed to rebuild it, has this always been in the game, cause i can remember back in the day you could only build it when you were in castle age. Just checked in 1.0c it was also possible, huh strange oow well.
Probably you can only build more than 1 once you reach Castle Age. It was like that in AoE 1 as well, except you had to have a government centre to build more than one TC. But before that if you had 0, you could build 1.
"Before they turned to religion"? Persia was always very religious - religion wasn't the reason they stopped being at the forefront of scientific development, and a lack of it wasn't why they were.

Maybe viper was unlucky but I feel like the douche strategy worked and viper won because he played better than his opponent. If an equal strength player was attempting it viper would be in trouble.
@T90 highest level Persian douche you've ever seen? Dude... what game was it where Rubenstock Persian douched like 3 times allowing TheMax to boom? You casted it and uploaded a video on here but I can't remember when that was or who they played but yea, that was incredible. This is also great stuff. :P More below. More on this: when I saw it was just 1 vil that triggered TheViper to defend against a Persian douche, I thought at first was a 200 IQ play from whoop to psyche TheViper into thinking he'll douche because how much TheViper would have to invest to defend in resources and idle time for just 1 vil walking around. Maybe that's actually true but then whoop psyched himself out thinking TheViper wouldn't respond to actually prep for the douche and then forced himself into doing it anyway. We need to know. Someone find whoop and ask him, please. Please.

He could've easily turned back on the strat, the instant Viper deleted that barracks he should've changed it up.
Viper all ways seems to be loosing the first half then out of no where viper has everything and routs the enemy.

Viper has two extra arms and a second mouse...
its mainly because he clicks/ uses shortcuts so fast it eventually pays off, even if hes doesnt always use the perfect strat
I think viper is really good at making decisions, micro and stuff is of secondary value and not his focus most of the time.

I think getting spotted was intentional. Seeing the vill, Viper immediately deleted his barracks, so he couldnt defend the drush. as well.

I always thought that if you start a construction and delete it, you lose all of the resources, regardless of how much was complete...

I'm not sure, but I think it was because he deleted his Town Center, which allowed him to "rebuild" it.
