What an incredible "in-Depth" examination of the fire principles. I thought I understood fire, thought I was "well informed" - but did you pour cold water on my confidence. Now I understand why you call it "Master". Great job. I'm so fortunate to have been following you for a number of years. You are truly a "Master" of your craft.

    Wow! Speechless !
I have always known that fire is a real craft and skill, but I didn't even imagine the complexity!
    Very important explanations in-depth.
A lot of aspects to master.
Class definitely would be beneficial for me.

Moisture and altitude are two key factors when starting a fire. Is the wood moist or wet? What is the humidity in the air? Where are you, sea level or high up in the mountains?
Blackie, your class reminds me of when I first read the SAS Survival Guide however, you explain the principles in a better fashion. You sir are a born teacher.

Oh, double comment for a Fahrenheit 451 reference, even if unintentional.

I don't know if I've ever worried about temperatures when I'm outdoor cooking. I just check it and keep going. I feel informed now. Thanks Blackie. Great series I been rewatching so many of them lately.

That is a good thing, but it is important to know about the triangle of fire. It can save you a lot of trouble down the road.

Great stuff. You might want to cover how barometric pressure effects not just baking but cooking as well as fire itself.

The science behind why we have to:
split the wood to get down to where fuel is dry
    not use green
    use feather sticks
    get it hot
    build it slow

  • @kamaeq

No oxygen in the air, we no longer will care about the fire... So "air" works well.
