I wouldn't recommend solenoid point motors with Peco points as they have a nasty habit of breaking the hair spring in the point. Then neither the point or mechanism work properly. I have always used Fulgurex motor driven mechanisms on all my exhibition layouts for over 40 years, without trouble. (They operate on 12v DC). Indeed using such point mechanisms means you actually remove the troublesome hair spring from the Peco points before laying them. Further as Fulgurex point mechanisms have two FREE switches attached (and space for two more) you can therefore "Interlock" your signals where necessary to any of you point motors. Fulgurex mechanisms only need a 1mm hole drilled in the baseboard for the pre-shaped brass crank provided to connect the point to the motor. The point mechanism is then screwed (2 screws) underneath the baseboard. This mechanism also allows use of Live Frog points using one of the spare switches !
Thanks for the video makes sense to me now on what I'm doing rouge
In the first and basic video you mentioned and Soldered on a resistor. Why and how many ohms should this be please
Thanks for the vid
