The best explanation of wiring an electrofrog point on UA-cam. Thank you.

Agree, no other video comes close to being this clear. Thank you!

Evening Matey. Really interesting video on power Frogs 🐸 I never thought of pulling out the tiny wires underneath my insulated points then joining them at the tip. Fantastic idea and I’ll have a go now I’ve see yours. Thanks Stevie.

This is the most sensible solution I found here on UA-cam, there will be probably others.
So going further on what you're saying, if we somehow, with electrical conductive paint for instance, can make the point of the insulfrog also conductive you would even improve the area of surface contact between the wheel and the track more and better.
So you make from an insulfrog, an electrofrog, which as I understand it correctly, is the best conductive option.
I'm in the planning stage of a shelf layout, witch serves part as a test build, in a later stage test layout for a later bigger project.
This layout must run, in case of the shelf layout on DC and DCC, so If I make it DCC friendly, as I understand, there also are no issues with DC.
The track I want to build later will be complete DCC.
My option for point motors, are also Arduino driven servos.
Reason I look into this is because I have a few old points that I want to use as they are as new.
For the new once I'll buy, my option goes to unifrog, although with your method this will make not much difference, or not?
Anyway thanks for this very good video, it really has given me a better understanding of the matter.
    Regards, Danny

      Short answer yes!
I treat Electro frog and insul frog points the same, turning them into electro's.
Depends what's on offer as to what I buy, but prefer Electro's for the reason you say, more metal to conduct the electric

Excellently explained and covered more of the things that are needed than other videos I've watched - great job!

Thank you for one of the best video on DC/DCC electrical wiring on froggy problem we all get plus the signal lights wiring at the same time
Sir you made it so EZ for all of us thank you
BTW your switch mechanism with the servo, limit switch and the styrene glue together is a work for art
Thank you and have a great day

Thank you for clearing up how to wire the Peco turnout and making clear how to wire the frog to the electrical switch.

Genius move. Sorry, I’m acquiring this idea for my friend’s layout. I’m planning to 3D print the point motors and switch holders because I’m lazy that way and gluing together plastic parts fills me with dread.

Great video feeding the frog finally got it. Great to know you can convert insulfrog points was thinking I would have to buy new electrofrogs

Second hand are easy to come by and a little easier on the pocket ££
Be careful which ones you get though!!
I'll do a short vid on second hand points soon.....

@@Wallsrail That would be very helpful just about to start working on a layout. have tried making the point motors they work better than the normal ones.

Why can't we simply buy our points, lay our track AND IT ALL WORKS without all this extra effort?? BTW I really do like the Peco PL1001 twistlock motor/switch combo.

9:27 but what if is loop rail at exit of split? the red line meet the black wire. So will give short in the moment of swich.

@@Wallsrail you got a video on how to do that? Because that would be useful mate.
      How difficult is it?
Same as soldering a stay alive to a decoder that's not supposed to have a stay alive fitted to it?

      @@IronHorseRailways I have actually.

I operate a servo controlled system though, so might be a bit niche?
Not to say that the idea can't be transferred to other mechanisms?
