Awesome, just sat down and turned on UA-cam and your notification popped up , exactly what I needed to relax watching, thanks for the great videos guys
Wally is a great guy to have around he's always full of a chuckle keep up the good shows I love them I watch him and yeah I have found them like that myself had to cut trees out of them great show
Let me give you an easy tip for when you dont have keys. Use a jumper wire and jump + to the fuse box on any circuit that will power up when you turn the key on so when you use a jumper on that fuse it will backfeed the whole ign system and its like turning the key on. Hope that helps for the future.
You know you ask for comments but don't look at them when you are working on a vehicle they were telling you that wasn't the way of hooking it up I really enjoy watching you and Wiley
Hola, saludos y bendiciones para usted y su familia, me encanta ver sus videos, son muy constructivos. Ojalá mi Padre Dios Jehová permita algún día trabajar con usted. Actualmente resido en Venezuela.
Drove a Ford tandem like that and a GMC the same. 3208 non-turbo, probaby 210 horses and both 13-under dumps. Good trucks and good driving. We were hauling dirt off a state DOT job and the big boss loaded the Ford I was herding. It was usually used for hauling sludge/flax fiber off from the paper mill so he loaded the wagon. I was in sight of the dumping spot when a Highway Patrol pulled me over and weighed the truck. Sure glad the BOSS loaded it because that one load of dirt cost 12 or $1500.00 dfollars. I dumped it out by itself because it was so special. Sorry that didn't light but all those complicated questions will sure have Wiley turning over. God Bless Yall!
You had the starter switch hook up wrong, you had one lead hooked to power and the other hooked to ground, you should have hooked one lead to the large terminal(12v) and the other to the small terminal (starter signal terminal)
It almost started. It moved at least....about a half turn...lol. 😄 I bet the key was probably in that glovebox that wouldn't open. Thanks for your efforts guys! God bless! 🙂
Hey there fellas, it was hard to watch this one. I'm thinking the truck would have cranked up if your starter button wasnt hooked straight to ground instead of the smaller terminal on the solenoid. Plz try it again! I think she'll go. Much love guys. Love the videos.
Correct size spanner does work better than a shifter / crescent wrench hey Hank 😊 , enjoy watching your videos Hank Wiley keep up the great work fellas 👍😊
I like hearing a little about the video from hanks daughter and then IMMEDIATELY afterwards hearing all about the video from Hank and Wiley like we always did. Definitely an improvement and real time saver. 😂😂😂
You are going straight to ground with the starter button! you got to go from hot to the little stud on the solenoid. or get a big battery cable go big stud to big stud on the solenoid hook one end up hold the other side to the other.
I hung a lot of steel with a 10 ton R. O. Crane like that in Louisiana. It was mounted on a Ford chassis like that one with a Cat diesel engine. Good little rigs I guarantee.
Hank/Wiley that dipstick is dryer than my ex wife's meatloaf ,even the dog ran and hid away when she made 🤣then the next day the shoemaker called to buy it from her for patching leather goods, good video 👍
Good morning Fellows, great to see you on another will it crank. Tuff break though, the next one will crank, I guarantee it. lol. Be good and God bless. 👍
Take A hammer.& Flathead 🪛 screwdriver hit the part we're the key goes into the tumbler part of knock that part off. To be able to pull out the tumbler inside out.,or at least be able to turn it with the we flathead screwdriver.
Even though you are putting power to the shutdown solenoid the rack may be still stuck. You can remove the shutdown cylinder and make sure the fingers in there are moving freely up and down. The coil energizes and pulls the plunger up when you want to start and then the spring pushes it down when it shuts down.
You guys are like father and son not friends I enjoy watching you guys you are funny as hell stay together you both make the show hope to come down and meet you both in the spring Perri poland said that
The advice I got from an old time diesel mechanic regarding oil level was to "Put in a case and check it." In those days, it would be 6 gallons. Probably less now, but the same idea. And you always added oil in gallons. Full to add oil marks on the dipstick is one gallon.
12.3V and 12.4V are flat batteries. should be at least 12.6V or (12.8V SLA) battery. Need to jump across the outer and larger two terminals of that round relay with a heavy jumper cable, that should get power to the starter solenoid. The way you had it connected was a direct short from +12V to ground, hence the sparks when you pushed the button and the cable getting hot.
If it's A automatic shifter then you'll half to put it back in with the key switched forward.& In neutral position to reset the tumbler.& Locking linkages inside of the steering column.
Maybe you could get a external pump fasten wires to it and hose one to the pump other end in the drum for a fuel source? alligator clips on the end of your wires would make good jump leads also for testing injection, and sensors, great video, all the best to yous and your loved ones
It is really easy to get ignition power although you do not have a key. On the starter solenoid there are two small cables. One of them is the starter impuls. The other is hot when ignition is on. Just give that one power and you have ignition power jumped.
3208 is a solid engine, no powerhouse but pretty good overall. Oliver used them in tractors and new holland ran them in their TR series of combines back in the day…
Hank and Whilley that was great you guys are so funny enjoyed it thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video can't wait for next one
Starter button never gets hooked to ground its a continuous wire that makes a connection when you push the button hot to hot think about it a screwdriver jumping from main hot to start lug makes the starter spin you'll figure it out I have faith
I usually fill the filters up with diesel and never have any troubles starting engines, starting those old locks you hammer a screwdriver in or knock the lock off with a hammer
you can always avoid being old sparky by always attaching the positive lead first. If you touch the frame while tightening it at that time, no spark. then attach the ground and it will not matter if you touch the frame with that one. Just rule of thump. always connect the positive first, in a negative ground situation.
If you reach under the dash and on top of the steering column the real ingnition switch is there. Tow small bolts 7mm Then you can use a small philips to slide the switch..
You can take off the steering wheel.& Then remover the twisted flange screw bolt down inside the lock tumbler part.,screws one instead. That tumbler will just twist.& Pull out after that bolt.,or screws has been removed.just remember if you replace it to put it back in the exact position it's in now is all.
I drove a Ford dump truck for s company and if it didn't want to start all you had to do was put a pound and a half hammer on the dash and it would start right up it had a 3208 cat
The Dynamic Duo can't start them all but I enjoy watching them try. Enjoyed the video Hank and Wiley.
I'm glad they have Hanks daughter doing the intro , gives us something good to look at even if it is for a brief time per video.
@@dondiego2262 Maybe she should help Wiley and Hank. First timers luck? Can't hurt.
Awesome, just sat down and turned on UA-cam and your notification popped up , exactly what I needed to relax watching, thanks for the great videos guys

Yea ! he had 12 Volts going to ground through the Switch.
Yea I seen that why hank
Hey guys from Ontario Canada whos on camera awesome job
You had the starter button on wrong go to battery side to starter of the solenoid
Good ol Smokey and the Bandit references, love it!
Good job and God bless yall
Ur grounding the starter out touch the big post and the little post in the front to crank it over
Morning, Good to see you Fella’s
After wrenching for years I've found that whenever I'm looking for a tool it's always in the last place I look. Love the channel.👍
Lol true
Your truly blessed, last time I enjoyed a day at work was 12/76..
It almost started. It moved at least....about a half turn...lol. 😄 I bet the key was probably in that glovebox that wouldn't open. Thanks for your efforts guys! God bless! 🙂
Sorry to see the wires getting hot but you are dead shorting your starter button. it needs to hook to the terminal on the solenoid.
Thanks
A good lock smith could make a key.
Hey there fellas, it was hard to watch this one. I'm thinking the truck would have cranked up if your starter button wasnt hooked straight to ground instead of the smaller terminal on the solenoid. Plz try it again! I think she'll go. Much love guys. Love the videos.
You need to look on steering column under dash and you will find the ign. Switch plug
That "Hank Hasselhoff" pic almost made me spit out my coffee. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good video. You need an old crane truck.
Yes I do
love that ya guys make me laugh so much besides learnin, really been helpin alot with everythin iv been goin though, thank you guys for the laughs

if its like an Aussie Ford of similar era and looking column ignition , you could've used the dipstick to key it over ;-)
I hung a lot of steel with a 10 ton R. O. Crane like that in Louisiana. It was mounted on a Ford chassis like that one with a Cat diesel engine. Good little rigs I guarantee.
Willy as Hoff that was a good one !
Hank/Wiley that dipstick is dryer than my ex wife's meatloaf ,even the dog ran and hid away when she made 🤣then the next day the shoemaker called to buy it from her for patching leather goods, good video 👍

I hope they get this truck runnin, their luck has to change.
I think the key attached to the shifter goes to the glovebox and that is where the key ignition key is.
Ah, good call. I’ll check when we go back
Ya and if it's automatic you usually need key to shift to drive if it column start.
Zackly. What I figured. Good luck

OMG
Hank there’s funny and then there’s OH man Hank how am I going to get that picture of Wileyhauff out of my head
Definitely can't win them all! But I got a feeling if y'all took another shot at it, y'all would get it!
Y'all are hilarious! I think it's stand up comedy with a little diesel fuel an sparks flying. God bless
The advice I got from an old time diesel mechanic regarding oil level was to "Put in a case and check it." In those days, it would be 6 gallons. Probably less now, but the same idea. And you always added oil in gallons. Full to add oil marks on the dipstick is one gallon.
3 weeks 8 days??? Would that be 4 weeks 1 day?
I think Hank wired the starter switch between battery +ve and ground, instead of +ve to solenoid coil. ( at time 51'48.)
Those boys have that tough, I believe they will get that bad boy running. Oh no wrong.
Laurel and Hardy at work once again!! 😁 All joking aside love the channel.
Although it didn't start I still had fun watching.

I didn't know Wylie was on Baywatch. 🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅
First Wiley in Baywatch, then A Smokey and the Bandit reference? What's Next? A Convoy?
Lol

Come to England...
There's a restaurant in Devon that'll sell you a "plow persons lunch"
🇬🇧☹️

Yeah old ford motors
Had them in TR70s and tr96s I believe
watching from canada
Nice try guys really appreciate your time and effort Thanks Hank and Wiley
Just pull the 2 nuts off the steering column underneath the dash and take a screwdriver and just manually operate it. Your set to go. 30 seconds.
Nice way to hotwire any Ford pickup that doesn't have a locking steering wheel
@@darthhauler9947 doesn't take much to break the steering lock lol
You guys are hilarious and great to watch
Ole smoky and the bandit on the cb channel
Watching your videos. I have learned every way there is to connect batteries. 😂😂
Your a bad man hank to tease wiley like that 🙃🤣
Boa noite muito ótimo esse serviço caminhão branco bonito meu amigo
Hank and Whilley that was great you guys are so funny enjoyed it thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video can't wait for next one
God Bless and luv Mom
Wiley is so funny guy
Great video Hank & Wiley, your cameraman was makin me dizzy😵
You can take the key tumbler out and go to a parts store and buy another one!!
Sounds like Matt from Diesel Creek. When he got his crane truck wishing it was a diesel turn out be a Ford gas engine. He had to rebuild the engine.
I believe that starter solenoid is for the crane there should be a place on the crane to start the truck but great video thanks Hank and Wylie
Starter button never gets hooked to ground its a continuous wire that makes a connection when you push the button hot to hot think about it a screwdriver jumping from main hot to start lug makes the starter spin you'll figure it out I have faith
"He always has gas" Actually laughed out loud. Wiley does not miss a beat 😂
I usually fill the filters up with diesel and never have any troubles starting engines, starting those old locks you hammer a screwdriver in or knock the lock off with a hammer
you need to call mr creek, sure he got one of them motors
keep up the good work chaps
To bad an you know you can’t win em all.
That photoshop of Wiley was hilarious.

I drove a Ford dump truck for s company and if it didn't want to start all you had to do was put a pound and a half hammer on the dash and it would start right up it had a 3208 cat
I like watching y'all come to west virginia there equipment saying everywhere
You need to invest in a $3 test Light
I got one in the truck I forgot about.
Smokey and the bandit for the CB channels
I would have just popped out the old ignition crossed the wires and been done with lol been so much easier but great video
Hank and Wiley best console yourselves with lunch. Gave it a good try better luck 🤞 next time.
Classic smokey and bandit
That frame looks brand new. Up north where I'm at that truck would've been rotted to the core.
I see said the blind man as he picked up the hammer and saw! 🙂
