Hey Guys, thanks for watching I really appreciate it ... don't forget to check out Marla Will it start...

Wuaoo good job brother
Awesome 👏 job James!!😌👍 Love those old 425 CAT 🐱 engines
What’s the point of having a POV camera on if you’re just gonna use the footage from Jess standing ten feet away from the truck.. we don’t want to HEAR you talk about the truck, we want to SEE the truck .. and there’s no point in repeating things twice, it’s not like you have to talks directly at the camera for it to hear you lol
Also, injection pumps on 3406b’s are very finicky.. deboss garage just built a truck with a 3406b and had his injection pump completely rebuild by zagar diesel, and if he hadn’t, the truck would have for sure run away
@@cameronsienkiewicz6364 nobody like the pov footage because it’s Shakey and annoying. Thanks for watching
You're making old school mechanics proud with this re start
Thanks Eric. I appreciate ya
I’ve driven many of these trucks absolutely beautiful trucks . Had a buddy had one of these trucks for 15 years and you still had to crack the window down to close the door it would pop your eardrums. Solid truck and also always love the way Westernstar ran their tanks and battery boxes we’re all the steps lined up perfectly Also a nice light package and nice diamond tuck interior always great attention to detail. The heritage style Cab and iconic bunk it is a true classic.
oh man it sure is a sweet heart. appreciate the comments

Beautiful truck! Love those era of Western Stars...built from 86 to mid to late 90s.
We owned an 84 Western Star large car up til 2009 and people often thought it was an Autocar highway truck due to the same sleeper design they shared.
Nice. Ya I think it’s gorgeous. Appreciate ya watching
When I worked on diesels the first thing I was told to look for on a non-runner was smoke from the exhaust when you crank it. No smoke? No fuel. There's your problem, get that sorted and it will run, as your video proved. Beautiful old truck, with the old White/Autocar cab still being used.
Appreciate ya watching Steve
We love these old trucks! Well worth saving!
Thanks James appreciate ya
I will never be able to understand, why people let good equipment rot outside. Every little item that's worth at least something and is no longer needed in my area of accountability get's picked up and sold off as soon as possible.
Same. Don’t make no sense
Not everyone is able to just sell something, sometimes they are just too old, or other times they are planning on restoring it (eventually)

😭🤣
Thanks James for another great video nice to see ths old girl running again thanks again
Thanks Keith. Appreciate ya
Hey Jimmy! That western Star is a good looking rig! It’s got sex appeal. All of them have the grill like that.
The chassis were made in British Columbia Canada at a place called Torner West. It was owned by my dads business partner.
I’m a Ford man and I’ve always loved the CLT 9000 COE. Ever since I saw the tuxedo black on the cover of the brochure, I’ve always loved them and they did have the biggest cab in the industry in that time. They were taller than the KW and Peterbilt COE’s.My personal favourite is the Louisville LNT-LTS series only because it’s what my uncle ran in the 70’s to mid 80’s and I learned to drive them.
Hats off saving another one. Hope you can add this to your collection.
It’s truly a sin that these trucks are in bone yards.
OH I have my eye on a clt9000 COE. its next on my list... appreciate ya
Great work again James! Love seeing these classic trucks get going again, ran sweet too

Absolutely love your videos great how you restore real truck's
thanks Garry I appreciate ya being part of the channel
They are cool old trucks. I have a 94 model with a series 60 and a 15 speed OD. I always liked the detail of them inside and out, the heritage cabs are cool. Mine still goes well and has done 1.8 million kms now. I drove same erra ones like this and similar back in late 90s with KTA 19 motors factory fitted air starters and 18 speeds on roadtrain work in western Australia too, good memories.
Ya I love the truck. I want to drive it
@bush600r
I have an 01 that needs an ecm to cab harness to get back on the road and had a 96 600r street legal 😅
@@abones7243 Goodluck I'm sure you should be able to find a harness easy enough. Yeah man love the old XR I've owned three 600's over the years but just have the 94 now. Don't think I'll ever sell it.
These trucks are beautiful pieces of engineering , Reminds me of the old steam engines , beautiful compared to the mediocre ergonomic soulless garbage on the roads now
I agree Dan appreciate ya watching
Great video James, I always enjoy the will it start!!!!!!
Thanks Ron. Appreciate ya
Used to be a pit mechanic in copper mine . Operators always missed fuel up so would run out of fuel a couple hrs into shift . I’ve seen other mechanics spend 6-8 hrs to start up . I rigged up a 12 v. And24 volt electric fuel pumps . Line and extra fittings I’d hook up pump fuel trk would fill it up . Charge up fuel system and start . These were all the way to 12 / 645E DD EMD loco engines in ore trks . Wabco haul pac 3200 . Sure rules out fittings or fuel line , that leaks like sprinkler system . This Worked for me !
Rite on
another great video james and man what a beautiful truck.sounds great too.looks like we have more videos to look forward too.
Thanks Paul appreciate ya
Wow nice project, not a KW but a beautiful truck James.
Thx Allen

id love to have you buy the Star Car and have me bring it to ya.. that would be an awesome video
@@JamesPretty I drive all over europe in a cab over as that's all we have what a road trip that would be from your yard to our yard that would surely take some memory card to record lol
James don't underestimate yourself I can tell from your physique you're a pretty strong guy!! Me and Jessica had faith that you could take that fuel filter off by hand.💪🏾😊
thanks I appreciate it. ive injured my elbows and shoulders lately and its not healing. I gotta get some strength back
Glad to see another video posted by you James. Your videos truly are on a different level sucks that the Morman wouldn't start . Got our fingers crossed in hopes of the Western Star being the one........
I will get that marmon running.. im going to tear into it and see what's causing the problem
_LOVE IT!_
Give that beautiful baby back to road life!!
It’s for Sale. I got too many myself
James another nice find. I hope you get your hands on it. I'd like to hear this one run. God bless 🙏🙏
Thanks Michael appreciate ya
Perfect video for the sunday =)
Best regards from France !!!
thanks so much I appreciate ya
Love the old heritage model stars, spent a few years driving one with a 3406 E set at 500hp was a great truck. The condition of that one is good makes me wonder why it was parked, be nice to add that to your collection needed or not. Over in oz that doesnt happen much they just get put on local work. I have to say in my experience you have to push that hand pump about 50 times or more to get fuel pressure. Always enjoy your channel keep up the good work.
Hey I appreciate ya watching and commenting. I want it I just don’t know if I’ll get it
You made reference to Hamiltonville farm’s, I love watching Hank and Wally, even if they aren’t professional’s.😊
Ya I watch them all the time. We did a collab did you see it?
I thought I saw a putty cat lol . Hi James. That’s a lot of truck right there. She sounded real good ! That would be a nice project to get back on the road. I’d roll in new rod and mains . New injectors. I couldn’t tell if it had Jake’s . Wheel base is just right. Keep us up to speed on this one. Great video !! See ya on the next one brother trucker .. 😎
Has Jakes appreciate ya bro

Love to see you keep the Western Star, but I understand. I grew up down the road from a Western Star dealer and the Kenworth factory here in Melbourne Australia.
the longer it goes the more I want it..
Very nice truck and love the color
Nothing runs like a CAT. The ole girl purrs. Cheers from Nova Scotia
Thanks for watching Anthony.
It ran very smooth after getting fired up
Yes it’s a good running truck for sure

Have driven a western star here in NZ. We had a cab over yip that’s right a cab over. It was imported from Australia, it was a Road train.

Sad to see that truck abandoned like that, I bought a brand new '88 Western Star back in the day, what a ride she was! 🙂
It’s only on hold ;) it’s going to be great again
@@JamesPretty I'd be interested to see it come back to life. I'm 74 now and been retired close to 10 years. Bu I still think about my Star. She had the 3406B in her and just felt so solid and indestructible. Good luck and thanks for sharing. 🙂
Nice Star Car!

I drove a Hanover back in the day with a 3406b back in the day. It was a 375 horse. Ran about 90 mph with the od trans. Good video 👍
Cabover
It's criminal the way some folks just walk away from vehicles and allow them to be taken over by the environment/nature and ultimately the wildlife.
I've seen some pretty good potential restoration projects on my travels around Finland including a 69 El Camino.
Finns love their American classics and there are some real beauties prowling the roads during the summer months.
Although with regard to the El Camino, it looked like its owner didn't really care for it at all along with the other rusting and rotting relics littering the surrounding forest and property.
I will never understand that sheer disregard for as long as I live.
Same and the fact they won’t let go of stuff so people who care will restore them. They just continue to let them rot
Congratulations
Thanks brother
Learned how to drive in one of these, big cam400 and a 15 speed.
Nice
Good video man. I think the truck just needed to have your arm rammed in-between the frame and engine. Ran like butter then. 😂😂
I agree bro. Appreciate ya watching

The good ole days.. as always God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer

Very nice👌👌 greetings from the Netherlands!!
Thanks for being here
Dang nice Western Star. Looking at it I thought it would fire up and run. I bet if you filled the coolant and built up air it’d drive out of that spot if the tires were hard. Curious why it got parked there? Looks like it’s roadworthy sounded like it has good oil pressure. Puzzling to me, that’s most likely why he wants good money for it. Those were beautiful trucks inside a good cleaning and a few pieces it’d be cool. Too bad the Marmon is overgrown already. Those Cat engines can be finicky but that one fired up it wants to get back to work. That truck was someone’s baby at some point in it’s life. Stay safe can’t wait to see your next video
well the guy died is why that truck ended up where it is most of the trucks I show from here were in a different location for years and when a truck broke down it was easier to just buy a running truck then to try to lose time with repairs..
Oh I didn’t know that. That’s why it looks well cared for. Still kinda sad to see it sitting there like that. Looks like someone has already been stealing parts off it. Who knows what will happen to it. Hopefully someone that will use it and appreciate it will see the video and rescue it.
Another Great Video. Thank You. Nice work around to fire Her up. Hope Someone seriously falls in Love and makes a Beautiful Truck !! H.
Thanks wendell appreciate ya
A good buddy of mine has owned and driven trucks all his life and encountered a strange problem with intermittent fuel supply on one.
It turned out to be the plastic membrane seal from inside the cap of some kind of container like a small fuel can which was floating around in the fuel tank and every now and then, it would get sucked against the fuel line outlet and block the flow of fuel!
Once he found it and fished it out he never had the problem again which confirmed his suspicions.
Wow nice find. I’ll bet people have junked engines and trucks for something like that
That was a fun one ! And the best thing about her is no def tank she’s road ready
Ya it could be back to work with some simple
Maint
Good job James wait on the next video
Thanks Don
Walking up seeing they took the batteries out was a good sign for me it was gonna start up Lol
Yay thanks buddy love 💗 bye ✌️

@@JamesPretty appreciate you BROTHER truly do still haven't got the mack running yet😪
You have some nice pre def trucks sir! Love your channel
Thanks isaac
There is a rod inside of the pump and when they go bad you have to take the pump off and cut it just to run it bit then you can't shut it off, if you have the tools it shouldn't take an half way decent mechanic no more than an hour to do it, it's very easy to do
Love'n all the variety of the trucks you guys. I like them all... just wild :-) 359 Pete Yet? Don't remumble one yet but I'm sure one will show up with it's corvette dash in tact [no doubt looking for some new wire]. But never mind that, love the ones you've got going [the freighliner cabby's are outstanding man]. 3406 may be giving you a bit of trouble but ... they have the low frequency growl like no other... Something Caterpillar does from Dozer's, trucks, excavators.... they just sound... alive :-))
well maybe ill end up with a 359 not 100% sure. appreciate ya watching. stay tuned :)
Cool video. Nice job
Thank you. For watching

@@abones7243 yes I priced it to another guy with me doing to complete job at 26k plus incidentals that’s purchase and repairs and tires and ready to go Unforeseen stuff can add up so with that in mind
@@JamesPretty that’s pretty good, specially coming from a trustable source. I need to get the harness first to get mine back on the road, then I’m going to start shopping after that God willing!
@@abones7243 I’d love for someone I know to have that truck. It’s gorgeous and I want it but just don’t have room in my budget to have more trucks
I love people it sits there and rots full of critters and its not for sale, what are you going to do with it? Let it rot some more so you can get less money.
its a long story. The Father died and the boys had to collect all the trucks and bring them to a central location which is where I got involved I believe they are going to put this truck into service and Im going to get it fixed up for them I hope.. .
Like the presentation
Thank you.
Last of the really good looking old Western Stars. Long flat hood , the vertical bar grill ,the square headlights ,narrow cab. All the lines of the trucks were just right . Everyone loves an old Pete or W 900 ( so do I) but I'll take the Star. Excellent video but would have been nice to get a side shot with the hood closed.
Appreciate ya watching
That was a cracker of a video. That is a fantastic piece of kit and it would be real nice if you could get it, not to resell, but for your collection. If the owner does want to sell then he obviously has no interest in money. If that unit is left there for a few more years it may not be worth having and then he loses the value and more important, the woorld uses another very restorable unit. Thanks James, enjoyed that one.....by the way would you like to swap a bit of your heat for a chunk of our lovely wet, cold, 10c summer!!
Appreciate ya watching and commenting. I agree it’s a gorgeous truck.
It wants to be obstinate but i got something for that. Love it.
