Something gratifying and therapeutic about hearing an old engine run again after being in the weeds for a few years. Keep up the good work, you and your partner in crime stay safe and God bless!
Ford 9700 or tw20 since it’s turbo charged. 8700 was naturally aspirated. 9700 Made between 77 and 79 Serial number should be near radiator filler cap. Tw20 made between 79-83 serial number under right grill panel 👍👍
That tractor is an 8700 because if you look at it it’s definitely a naturally aspirated, that breather was probably added on to it at sometime, but from the way it sounds and being able to see the whole engine on it, there is no turbo, making it a 8700
@@JTsBuildsandFields Correct it an 8700. Turbo 2 is just the brand name of that aftermarket cyclonic air intake precleaner above the hood. They were common in the 70's as they had a rotating centrifuge to disperse dust.
For the batteries, you’re correct. Parallel (plus to plus , negative to negative ) it increases amperage capacity but keeps it at same volts ( 12v ) but if you do series ( positive to negative ) then you’ve got series which makes it go from 12v to 24v ) , that’s how golf carts can make 48v systems
We played wally at the beginning of the year on our 1969 Ford 8000 . It was locked up . We just got it back from the repair shop with a full rebuilt motor.. We sure love our Ford tractors
Gee not driven a tractor for a good 30+ years so was good to hear one fired up guys. Drove a Ford 5000 a few times helping out on a farm. Great will it start bro. Safe travels
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. You two did it again. It runs and doing great running. Congratulations Hank and Wiley. Not too bad getting it going. Neat putting the batteries on the pickup tailgate. Neat. Needed some fuel but what the heck. Ran good. Well, time for lunch. You two take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Hank and Wiley. It was another great time. Until next time. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Hank and Wiley Doctors of Diesel Science on call. Working their magic on this tractor. Great Video. Hank hope that you and your family are ok during hurricane Ian. Your logo should be a pair of vice grips.
That old tractor fired right up the first try . Those old Ford are great tractors, I have a Ford 3000 that my dad bought new either in 1974 or 1975 .They live on forever !!! It was great to see you guys at it again on another start up . 🤗👍❤️💫
The intro by the beautiful model, svelte Wiley and dapper Hank make for interesting and entertaining videos. Thank you and Wiley for getting the old girl started and making it educational and fun. May God continue to bless you and watch over you.
You guys are great. Your adventures into vehicles reminds me of "a country boy will survive", that can do, we'll try anything once attitude! God bless.
If you push the excess fuel button on the pump - which is the pivot on the stopper on the injection pump it would start straight up without the need for ether
I hope y'all's ok in Florida Hank I got stuck in it tropical storm Ian in North Carolina was able to get off the road and was safe till storm passed by Me us truckers know when not to push it with weather like that nice old school farm tractor 😁👍
Walley is top dog he can start anything the miracle worker 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿good show.all the way from South Africa I enjoy the show 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🙏🏾🙏🏾you guys have all the fun 👍🏿👍🏿
Here's an idea get in the cab and straighten the wheel while you're trying to pull it. You're talking about the cable breaking while you're standing right beside of it
soon as I seen it was an older Ford. I knew it would be making oil haha. And knew it would start. U can't kill those tractors. Our 1979 2600 diesel been the most faithful tractor
😁👍 sorry I hadn't been by, I started PT and them girls put a hurting on me so bad it took me two days to recover 🤕. Them's some mean 'therapiseds' I'm telling you. I feel like I'm as rusty as the ol' Ford tractor ya winced out of the weeds and squeak twice as bad. My feet are just as flat as the tires, I also make oil and I go through a lot of water. My brain bucket sounds as empty as the fuel tank. Yeah, it has been near 15 years since I ran too but you hook a battery up to my starter nuts and I'm going to fire off too.😆
Good job. Thanks guys. They sure do run good, those old diesels. You guys look like you need a remote starter to cross start those starters. It might help to make it a little easier for you. And bring along a couple of those heavy duty jump leads. You never know when you'll need a couple of extra circuit leads for the unknowns. Anyway, I sure hope no one gets stung or bitten. Be safe and God bless. By the way, an old heavy jacket or rug should be used about halfway to your winch pull object to deflect the reverse whip of the line while doing a heavy pull. If it breaks it will soften the back whipping a lot. Much safer.
Yes 2 tanks the top one feeds the one under the cab on left side of the cab powerstearing pump was under the ac pump and that little hose is a overflow for injecter pump and yes cap on right side is oil cap
The line on the injector pump is where when you do an oil change on the tractor you also change the oil in the injector pump overtime the oil will thin out with diesel that’s why you’re seeing the drips from that line from behind the injector pump hope y’all are having a blessed day! I’ve got a Ford 3000
The little breather tube on the pump is the breather for the pump it selves You have separate oil for the pump where you fill it on the top side of the pump'The lever on the pump is the breather pipe Same on all these Q cab Fords And I got them to a number :)
Had a trial of a 9600 or 8600, cant remember now for forestry. And a county 1454 which was based on 9600 unit. The tractor in the video is the successor of the 8600
In the uk we call vice grips mole grips ,it's just as well you had the brains of the outfit with you today 😂 hanks daughter has the looks and the brains ,well done

this ford has the q cab and as its a 6 cylinder its probably a 9700 ford got the cab made over here in the uk in its car assy plant in dagenham it fitted across the range from the 4600 to the tw 30 marvellous as you can quess im in the uk and i love my fords always drive ford cars!
"Svelte" means "slender and graceful"......Is Wiley "slender and graceful"? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 LOL. Great job getting this Ford running again, fellas! I always enjoy the world's best "not mechanics" doing a will it run! Keep up the great work guys! God bless. 🙂🙂
hi guys like your show , i think u will find that tube is over flow from the injection pump, the old injection pumps u had to change the oil in the pump. later engines the pump oil was feed from the engine oil pump , so the old pumps with there own oil over fill when pump is old & the diesel by passes in the pump & it over flows or it can be the lift pump diaphragm on the side of the pump ,any way the diesel still lubes the pump as well , hope that makes sense ive had a beer or 2 cheers
That little black tube is like an overflow for your injector pump I just picked up an 8000 Ford tractor about two weeks ago learning a lot about them their steering is hydraulic but they have their own hydraulic reservoir and pump
I think I caught Wiley Eyeballin them Jet Ski’s, Are We going to get us a Competition Start Off ? Looser Gets Pulled around the Lake by the Winner, in Their Thong!!😂😂

7710
