The slow groove element to Chimaira's otherwise machinegun like riffs really round out the listening experience. This is my favorite song from them, it's so damn heavy \m/
They had a really unique sound, a little bit of everything. Slayer, Pantera, hardcore, industrial/electronica, alternative. And a great sense of timing and rhythym. Knew how to make a hook 🪝
Actually don't see that happening unfortunately, Rob went on to make another band called The Elite... You should check em out, not too shabby... Still, RIP Chimaira!
@@johnblaze4209 if you watch Rob and his EYL series. He hints on the last couple episodes that there's a possibility of them making new music in the future. So keep hope alive.
Man these guys really pushed the genre beyond its boundaries, so many good albums but this one really stands out as their masterpiece. The Dynamic of these guys, resulted in the most epic sonic journey. It gives me such awe inspired chills and a great sense of nostalgia. RIP Chimaira!
It shouldn't bother me this much but it drives me nuts when they get classified as nu-metal. It's like someone put Pantera, Sepultura, Slayer, and Soulfly in a blender.
Man, I'm going to miss these guys. But seeing how their last two albums were, I think it was for the best that they broke up. They stopped sounding like Chimaira imo. These guys were my first concert though in 2007, and I'm glad I was able to see them at their finest. Too bad that opportunity probably won't come again.
+Frisbee I feel the same. I saw them back when they toured with Disturbed and Killswitch Engage and they were just coming out with The Infection and I was actually more stoked to see Chimaira than any other band. I also saw them when they came out with The Age Of Hell and toured with Impending Doom. I will never forget how awesome it was seeing them.
Agreed! Mark was a huge inspiration for me! One of the coolest memories I will ever have was when they played at The Rock in Tucson, AZ. My buddy's band, Cutthroat Gorgeous actually got to open as a local band. They (Cutthroat) invited me to perform a song with them. It was the first time I had been on stage in years and it was amazing! Come to find out, that was one of the last shows on the tour that ended up being their last. Knowing I was up on the same stage that one of my inspirations played one of his last shows with a band that helped shape and guide my musical path is something that I will take to the grave with me!
They are reuniting for a one off show on December 30th of this year, with all the original line up. Hopefully some new material will come out of it, we can dream.
chimaira will always be one of my fav bands , fuk did they come out with some good shit. i looked forward to every album release and now theres fuk all to look forward to.
I remember back in 2009 when this album was released. I listened a lot to it and played Left 4 Dead at the time, which for obvious reasons were a pretty neat combination. Now I play The Division and listen to this album again, and this album just fits perfectly to the mood and theme of The Division, even better than it did to L4D. I miss these guys terribly. The Age Of Hell was a cool record although a lot more mature sounding, but I didn't really like Crown Of Phantoms that much. It was more Daath than Chimaira.
Souldrainer me 2 man! I was in high school and the music fit so well with l4d2 made my fucking year. I miss those days as I also miss Chimaira and hope for a lfd3 but that won't happen
pass out of existence-cool impossibility of reason-great self titled-brilliant ressurrection-awsome the infection-amazing wonder what will the next one will sound ;)
On the dvd that comes with the special edition Mark Hunter summarized it as "We're not experimenting so much as we're honing our craft" So they put a lot of heart into this one as you can tell.
My foreman to the new guy: "he is a little crazy" Me to both: "a little?" *insane laugh* I will sing this shit on the jobsite so no one knows what i am thinking. Haha
This song randomly popped in my head. Had to go to youtube to relive the greatness of the song and when the full band was together before breaking apart again ;(
I saw them Thursday in Atlanta. It was the first night of the tour heading your way. Man you are in for a treat!!! They played all my favs, old and new.
is it just me or is that the most fuckin badass intro of a guitarist or what !!! chimaira is the eternal underdog and thats just the way i like em raw and creative .
Chimaira took a HUGE step into their career that made them sound more professional and A LOT less messy! For example: Between The Buried And Me released their album Alaska, 2 years after that they created one of the most well known and legendary albums named Colors. Which caught the ear of many. With Chimaira on the other hand; they started VERY heavy and turned it into a progressive extent to their different "varieties" (as most of you "so called fan critics" like to call it) of play style. Wh
the new album kicks ass!! I find it even better than the previous one. its one of those albums that you're abit skeptic about when you hear'em for the first time, but then on the 2nd time you realize how awesome it is!!! and from that time on, it gets even better!! cant wait to see them live!!!
i wasn't sure on the album on the first couple of listens but now its really grown on me. It's just a different approuch to the same music they've always done and i do honestly think now that its a great album...this being the best song along with "The Vemon Inside"
we need to have these Band back... why does one of my heart Bands split up too soon.... This goes to Mark Hunter and co. I NEED YOU AND THE POWER YOU DELIVER TO LIVE THIS LIFE!!!! COME BACK TO US!!!!
to me this is their best album so far.. they can't play the same music 4 ever!! it' obvious thta they've changed their style a lil bit..and they are a lot better now!!
It sucks that they broke up. Also sucks that Shadows Fall are breaking up too. OZZY is also making 2 more CD's and then calling it quits. We need to keep the METAL alive and these types of things wouldn't happen.
Ozzy hasn't put out a decent album in a decade. Shadows fall has never put one out and Chimaira has had problems keeping members since their inception. Long live Metal!!!!
at first I was like : This ain't the Chimaira I'm used to hear, so I wasn't very fond of this song. Hell, the first time I listened to this song I was like : this kinda sucks, but then you listen it a second time, a third time and the more you listen to it, the more awesome it becomes. and THAT my friends, is everlasting music. I bought the album today and I finally have a album again which I can listen over and over again. The Infection is really worth buying! 5/5
@morradi10000 The Infection: Great album, but takes some getting used to. Its slower than any of their albums, but once you get used to it, you love it. Strongest songs: D&D, The Disappearing Sun, Coming Alive, Impending Doom, Secrets Of The Dead, Heart Of It All,... you know where Im going with this. All of them
Saw Chimaira a few weeks ago in New Orleans. They were so damn good. Sure sucks that they were playing with Asking Alexandria though. It's a real shame, I personally think they're on the wrong tour. They opened the show and only played 7 songs. These guys should be headlining!
Chimaira is the only band I know of that releases only one video for their CD. All other bands will basically make every song into a video. I'm not complaining though, cause it just makes me want to buy their CD more when they only have one video
it's just a midi control pad. It doesn't have any sounds on it, but you hook it up to a computer and it triggers what ever sound you have on the computer when you hit the button.
Frankly, all I want Chimaira for is songs about hating everyone. This band is best when almost childishly simple (lyrically and thematically) in my opinion.
Really miss Chimaira in this days 🥺
Simple, a Great and underated Band 🤘🤘🤘
Yea I saw them when they 1st came out I was like yea there going to make it and they did
The Infection album's slow tempo just makes the whole thing sound so damn evil and heavy as hell. I love it !
The slow groove element to Chimaira's otherwise machinegun like riffs really round out the listening experience. This is my favorite song from them, it's so damn heavy \m/
Idk about you but this album destroyed demons force to be reckoned with.
It is their "South of Heaven"
2024 and this song and album is so sic
They had a really unique sound, a little bit of everything. Slayer, Pantera, hardcore, industrial/electronica, alternative. And a great sense of timing and rhythym. Knew how to make a hook 🪝
Power aggression metal
I miss 'em! Hope There will be a reformation one day!
Actually don't see that happening unfortunately, Rob went on to make another band called The Elite... You should check em out, not too shabby... Still, RIP Chimaira!
They did do a one off reunion show in 2017, but now after Mark recently had thyroid cancer which he just had removed I want them to reform
No doubt, hardcore needs a big comeback. Chimaira and Fear Factory are 2 bands I want to see reform.
@@johnblaze4209 if you watch Rob and his EYL series. He hints on the last couple episodes that there's a possibility of them making new music in the future. So keep hope alive.
They were going to do a reunion Christmas 2020 show in Cleveland but Covid killed that too.
One of the best songs for lifting heavy ass weight. Love the beginning.
Same. Love starting my Deadlift/Bench superset off to this.
Somebody call these guys and tell em we need new chimaira. Please
The last music with my favorite Chimaira lineup, this song is mesmerizing.
Had the pleasure of seeing them shred in Buffalo, NY multiple times at like every venue!

they sure had a unique style and their last album wasn't that epic
That's me but Pantera

Chimaira can never go out of style(chaal)..their groove still lingers in my ears way ahead of its time..❤

My foreman to the new guy: "he is a little crazy"

I will sing this shit on the jobsite so no one knows what i am thinking. Haha
2022 and this song still just great.
People still listening to Chimaira? Where you at
Song+video=Ultimate Badassery
Excelente canción más de Chimaira viene del álbum The Infection
Saw these guys live in Michigan on tour with disturbed. They were the highlight of my evening.
This song randomly popped in my head. Had to go to youtube to relive the greatness of the song and when the full band was together before breaking apart again ;(
Got the whole album in my car :-) Chimaira is/was just too good!
