Dawn is amazing. I use the 1 c. Dawn and 1 c. white vinegar in a spray bottle to clean my bathtub. I no longer buy tub cleaner. It works better than any I have used previously...and cheap. That lasts me 2 months usually....and very little scrubbing. I leave it on for 5-10 min.
This video has literally changed how I do dishes. They get cleaned more often now! I use the dishwasher as a drying rack and a place to store scrubbers to get them off the sink. Thanks!
Great share. I do this with the handsoap also by just buying the regular liquid and diluting it in the foam soap bottles. I really like the spray paint to dress up the counter top bottle.
This is great. I have actually used this idea with shampoo also as I find shampoo builds up over a period of time. Having it diluted this way makes my hair much softer =) Great video.
I use used up shampoo bottles to mix some shampoo with water and/or witch hazel (works well on the itchy scalp) with few drops of tea tree concentrate oil from 'the body shop'.
Been doing this for several years. I felt the same when I tried the Dawn foaming soap...I didn't want to pay three dollars for a jar of mostly water. I have had a gallon jug of Dawn (given to me by a relative) for nearly two years and have been making my own foaming soap. I have just about used it all. I will be getting the Dawn from the dollar store now.
I do this too! I bought a huge 75 oz jug of Dawn dish soap at Walmart for $7.99 and already had the foaming bottles from a previous purchase. 3 years later & washing dishes a zillion times a day, I still have 1/2 a jug of liquid Dawn soap.
I use the Dawn Foaming Dish Soap and I love it! We don't have a dishwasher, so a bottle from the DT lasts me about 2 weeks. Now I can follow your hack and stretch that out! Thank you so much for sharing this!
roxyfur when the Dawn foaming first came out the commercials showed how to use it. You squirt some on your sponge and then wash your dishes. You don't need to fill the sink with water .
roxyfur I've always used super plush cheap sponges from family dollar soak it with water then dab just a bit of dish soap onto the sponge and just add water as you go to reactivate the suds for each dish. But I I keep both the foam and regular dispensers as it's rare I have a sink full being single lol. The plush sponges with a dab of soap has been my method for years. The foam is great I find dawn dries out my skin too much. I switch to targets up up brand works just as well and doesn't dry up my hands. I use the antibacterial green apple one. I've also started using methods cucumber dish soap for the sink and my bathroom. But still keep old faithful dawn for tough jobs. For stuck on foods old method of soaking will always be #1.
Yes! Me too. I use Dr Bronners to wash my face & in the shower. It's not just me being cheap, the soap is just easier to use in a foam pump. Dr Bronners is actually very concentrated but not thick. It's easy to squeeze out too much.
Love it! Ty..... I've always diluted my dawn.... thanks for the tip on the rustoleum rubbing bronze spay paint to paint the pump..... great tip. I like all my bottles to look p-errty,lol.... pretty, regardless of what's in them, now thanks to you, I can.... xoxo Kelly!!! God bless you and your family. BTW, my don graduated high school last night, may - 2018. So proud. I cried and cried. My daughter graduated 5 years ago. Love them so much.
Kelly , I've been doing this for quite a while. I don't have a dishwasher . I come up with this way to do this with dawn for my grandson and hubs washing their hands with foaming soap...ran out of hand soap ..put dawn and water and been doing it for dishes ever since! But sure am happy you found it too !
Not only was this a great hack, but I figured I was diluting my hand soap wrong for the longest and now I know how to dilute both hand soap and dish soap! You come up with everything Kelly.
I have a spray bottle that I put Dawn, white vinegar and water in. I use this to spray on dishes that are dirty for quick clean ups. Dawn is really the best..and it helps wildlife so i like that too
I do the same since Dawn dish soap is a thick concentrate and can easily be diluted with 25% and 75% water and be used for much longer. Also keep in mind that CVS always has Dawn dish soap on sale for 99cents only.
Kelly, I tried this and it really works well! In the comments someone mentioned trying this with their bath and body washes, so I tried that too and it works really well also. I have just cut my costs for dish soap and body washes literally by more than half if not much more! This was a stinkin great hack in more ways than one. Thank you.
Yay... I love that you came on and gave me your review of this hack! I would like to pin this comment to the top if thats ok with you so it'll be the first comment!
I love dawn that is all I use you can buy the 5 dollar big bottle at Walmart and it will last a long time doingvthis method I haven't used the foaming one but I will try it with my bath n body foaming hand soap dispensers now!
Melody kidd I buy the pink, Olay Dawn at Dollar Tree for $1 for 11 ounces. Makes it far cheaper than other stores for any concentrate Dawn. Great deal!
I love dawn foaming dish soap. It smells good too. I do this with my automatic foaming soap dispenser. You can really stretch this stuff too and it is still a good grease cutter.
Great video! I use the dawn from Dollar Tree for dishes, oily hair and greasy laundry! With a family of 10 this will save a fortune! We go through 5 plus bottles a week! Thanks for sharing!
I have been doing this for quite some time now. There is a difference in the dawn foaming dish soap. The smell is so good. when you make your own you just don't get that clean refreshing smell of that foaming soap. IMO. Thanks for the video.
This is great, Kelly! I do this also. I purchase the big bottle of Dawn from H.E.B. for under 3 dollars and I dilute just as you did. I use a quarter Dawn, the rest water and it works very well. Dawn is very concentrated. It lasts me about 4 months. Really a great Hack!👍 TFS.😊 💕
Omg thank you so much because I love the Dawn foaming dish cleaner and got it at Walmart and thought it was expensive. I will definitely be doing this DYI!!!!!
I've just recently discovered your channel. I'm addicted already, lol! I have a challenge for you. A small sitting bench to put your shoes on with storage in it, with Dollar Tree products. I love your style and creativity!
O...M...G...!!! I just discovered your channel and I just discovered this hack!!! We use the Dawn foaming soap and I have the little bottle of Dawn too. I'm SO going to try this hack as soon as we empty out the current bottle since we hand wash almost exclusively! THANK YOU!!
I love this! I'm gonna give this a try when I empty one of my B&BW foaming hand soaps. And I'm thinking maybe using my body wash like this to make foaming hand wash too!? 👍🏻
Kelly you did a video on the starbuck bottles and made them into soap dispensers...I found the foaming pumps for about $5.00 for the starbuck bottles and this hack would go great with your farmhouse style...as soon as I get it painted and done, I will share....loved that you showed the dawn soap hack
My family always puts dishes right into dishwasher also. That's such a great habit get into. Then all u have to do is unload it. Besides from when cooking. Love this hack. Love the painting idea too. Never thought if that one. ❤️
I just made my 1st refill of Dawn platinum erasing dish foam. I happen to notice that there is a molded fill line on the bottle of the dawn foam pump bottle. I guess they figured out that people make their own refills nowadays. I only have this one last pump bottle. I used to buy the dawn platinum erasing dish soap foam in multiples and now I'm down to just this 1 bottle because I can't find it anymore so I have a big 2 qt bottle of dawn liquid and now I'm going to make my own refills!!!!! I thought there was some other wizardly magic to this process I think I saw one video that I didn't watch but it looked like she used denatured alcohol in the mix? Anyhow yours works just as great I think I used too much soap in this 1st refill because it's super thick but that's because I didn't listen to your instruction! I always think more is better..... But this Dawn liquid is ultra concentrated
*THANK YOU!* Finally. I've tried to figure out the correct ratio....I was making it far too strong. I have several BBW foaming hand soap bottles. I hope those work. I use the *pink Dawn.* Much easier on the hands. Thanks, again.
Kelly Barlow Creations Oh, please do! I'm so happy my daughter picked a bunch up for me. And, the Olay (pink) is the ONLY Dawn the Dollar Tree by me sells. Love it. :-)
I've always used super plush cheap sponges from family dollar soak it with water then dab just a bit of dish soap onto the sponge and just add water as you go to reactivate the suds for each dish. But I I keep both the foam and regular dispensers as it's rare I have a sink full being single lol. The plush sponges with a dab of soap has been my method for years. Kelly Barlow Creations light bulb . . how about showing us all how you store your supplies. I do crafts and would love to see you do your storing. Like you showed us your kitchen n bathroom declutter. I know storing is no science, but I simply love your ideas. Thankx again for all you do for us all. Have a sweet day precious.
My crafting storage is a work in progress honestly and not one I'm super proud of right now, I'll show you all if you'd like... I don't have a crafting room my crafting background is in the corner of my formal living room in the central living area of our house. My hubby has been amazing and has given me space in the garage to store all my crafting supplies on 2 shelving units that have 5 shelves on each unit! I try to keep it as organized as I can but it by no means has been very budget friendly!
I love your diy. I also love dawn dish soap. I've have used dawn dish soap for many years since it first came out. I've never had problems with the sink clogging up since I use it. My question for you is, what do you like about the foaming part of it?
For better results, refill with the platinum version of blue Dawn rather than the basic Dawn from Dollar Tree. I buy the platinum on sale at Costco. :)
Thank you so much 😊 I just got that hand soap bottle from the dollar tree and I was wondering how to reuse it again for regular hand soap thanks so much for the idea
I've been doing this for years! We like using the Dawn's antibacterial Green Apple scent. I usually pick it up at the Family Dollar Store, it's normally less expensive there then at Walmart. Either way I love having the foaming soap to wash those few dishes that don't fit in my dishwasher, or if I just have a few dishes to do by hand.
I do that when I run out of hand soap. I just something I've gotten at dollar tree or home goods and do the same thing. A lot cheaper because it dissent take much soap and it goes further. 😊😊
This hack i’ve been doing a long time learned it from my sister, but spraying the top of the Dawn pump that is awesome. I’m so doing that!!! Love you videos Girl!!! 😍😍😍
I wonder if I can use this for body wash too. My son won't use bar soap, only body wash, but it does a number on my pocket book every month. I'm going to try it. If it works, it'll save me so much money! Thanks for the idea💜
We kinda think alike cause I filled up the equate soap dispenser with half water and half body wash.then I just bought the same bottle as you cept mine is grapefruit and I'm planning to do a foaming body wash like the new dove one.sadly at home they won't appreciate the dish soap they're so wasteful.and I do this technique w the hand soap.thanks for the genius idea :)
I do this to make the hand soap last in my classroom. It works for any liquid soap. You can use the bath and body works bottles as well.
Foami g face wash is what i will try next. Face products are pricey.
Such a good idea! Thanks!!! Also, making face products foamy is a good idea too!!
This is great. I have actually used this idea with shampoo also as I find shampoo builds up over a period of time. Having it diluted this way makes my hair much softer =) Great video.
Yes. That’s brilliant.
How do you use this? I usually fill sink with dawn and Easter. Do you squirt this in the sink of water?
Water, not Easter :)
roxyfur when the Dawn foaming first came out the commercials showed how to use it. You squirt some on your sponge and then wash your dishes. You don't need to fill the sink with water .
That will be hard to change!! ;) I'll have to find the commercial and see if you soak first.
roxyfur I've always used super plush cheap sponges from family dollar soak it with water then dab just a bit of dish soap onto the sponge and just add water as you go to reactivate the suds for each dish. But I I keep both the foam and regular dispensers as it's rare I have a sink full being single lol. The plush sponges with a dab of soap has been my method for years. I do this with my dr. Bronners castile soap that I love and use as hand soap and for so many other things. I like this though for my dawn dish soap.
Yes!
My friend showed me this yrs ago & I m so glad Kelly that ur sharing this today with us all thank u. Ur so stinking cute.....
Fabulous idea!! I swear, you are so creative and you never run out of ideas.
Your hacks are amazing. Thank you for sharing.
No way!! So essentially Dawn is charging you more money for less detergent and water!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

Also keep in mind that CVS always has Dawn dish soap on sale for 99cents only.
Lorette D'souza and with the 0.25 coupon from newspapers it's 0.74 ;)
I've been adding Dawn and water to a spray bottle for years. Uses less soap and water both in the kitchen and camping. Thanks Kelly!!
Thanks this makes soap go slot further. I already use this method in the bathroom. Why not in the kitchen too.
Hi Kelly, This hack is wonderful. If you add just a splash of rubbing alcohol to the bottle, the formula cuts grease and rinses clean even better.
Oh my Kelly I love this hack thank you so much
Love Barbie Kahn

I buy the pink, Olay Dawn at Dollar Tree for $1 for 11 ounces. Makes it far cheaper than other stores for any concentrate Dawn.
Great deal!
D Hoosier I only use the blue to me it works the best plus I use dawn for work so I buy the big bottle and it lasts longer
Thank you for this video, looking forward to the rest of the series. Awesome!
Wow what a great idea!!!!! Thxs for sharing!!!
Wow, you do the most amazing things!!
I never thought about this. Tried it today I love it.

O...M...G...!!! I just discovered your channel and I just discovered this hack!!! We use the Dawn foaming soap and I have the little bottle of Dawn too. I'm SO going to try this hack as soon as we empty out the current bottle since we hand wash almost exclusively! THANK YOU!!
Question ... it looks like more than 1/2" of Dawn deter that you poured in, so are the proportions 1/3 dawn to 2/3 water?
Been looking for this. Thanks Kelly you're the best!
I love this! I'm gonna give this a try when I empty one of my B&BW foaming hand soaps. And I'm thinking maybe using my body wash like this to make foaming hand wash too!? 👍🏻
I've been doing this since Dawn direct came out! I also use the same bottle from Dollar Tree
Love, Love, Love this hack!! Thank you!

I buy the foaming soap refills at my dollar tree. It's only a dollar for a 32oz. bottle and it works and smells great.
Ty fir the dawn dish soap hacks!! Love my dawn!!!
I love this! I'm going to try this. Thanks Kelly!
Brilliant this hack will save me. Thanks

Clever! Love this... Thank you.
I just made this. Thank you so much for this hack.
I actually went to Dollar store earlier today and picked up 2 Pear Scent pumps. 1 for the dawn dish soap and 1 to use for soap. Thanks for sharing 👍
I just made my 1st refill of Dawn platinum erasing dish foam. I happen to notice that there is a molded fill line on the bottle of the dawn foam pump bottle. LOL, did't think of that! :-)
I do that when I run out of hand soap. I just something I've gotten at dollar tree or home goods and do the same thing. A lot cheaper because it dissent take much soap and it goes further. 😊😊
I did that recently. I use antibacterial Dawn dish soap. Works great.
This hack i’ve been doing a long time learned it from my sister, but spraying the top of the Dawn pump that is awesome. I’m so doing that!!! Love you videos Girl!!! 😍😍😍
Omg! Kisses. I love dawn foaming soo, and don’t mind paying for it, but it’s hard to find. You have saved the day and my wallet!!! Xoxo

Thank you so much for the Dawn foaming dish soap Idea
Love it and I will have to do that next week.
