If you get a continuous spray bottle like the one that it is sold with, it will foam up and go a lot further. I use the same recipe but with 91% alcohol and it works great!!

Good formula, I've made it a few times now. I even compared this DIY formula with a new bottle - exactly the same.
I would recommend buying the spray bottle -- it's terrific, but then mix your own juice after that.
This Powerwash method uses less Dawn, cleans as effectively and is easier to rinse off. The bit of alcohol in the bottle makes water dry more quickly. It's a win win win win . And the 13 ounces of water? Just put the Dawn and alcohol in the bottle then fill it with water that's 13 ounces.
And I have 91% isopropyl alcohol, it's not that critical. I've used this spray to clean really dirty bins that have been outside. Puts more than enough soap on the job.

I don’t know what “crunchy” means in this context. Would you explain it in your next video please? And, thank you for posting this. It works like a charm

Thank you. I do love this stuff! Crunchy is someone who tends to go for more natural products. Tends to stay away from modern conveniences if it's not organic. They care about the environment. They eat crunchy organics, like granola (crunchy). I'm sure there's a lot more to it, but I had to look it up, too. 😁

Also, the alcohol has to be 90% to foam properly. From what I’ve read on other posts.

It's not the same thing. I checked the SDS and the real stuff doesn't even contain alcohol. A Safety Data Sheet won't tell you the exact recipe, but will list any chemicals in it. Here is what it lists:
    Dipropylene Glycol Butoxy Ether
    Lauramine Oxide
    Lauryl Glucoside
    Hexeth-5
    Sodium Xylenesulfonate
Regular Dawn contains NONE of these particular chemicals but it does contain Ethanol, a form of alcohol.

If that’s what the formula that they use to wash dishes with… God knows what’s in that blue chemical stuff stuff why would you put that stuff on your dishes?

    • @bluefeatherhomestead
      @bluefeatherhomestead  10 місяців тому +2

Right!? And they've been selling dawn since 1973. I question why we do a lot of things. I always say I'll bet in the future that we will be disgusted at what the pharmaceutical industry is doing, and we let them. It's barbaric and unreal. But,,,,, I suppose that I will still keep using this stuff, maybe just not so extreme. I am going to try castile and see if it works. I have used it for my laundry for years. I just haven't tried the castile dish soap. Hope you are having a blessed Sunday. 🥰 I will post an updated video after I try the more organic. I hope that it is as effective.

Good video and while dawn may have some toxic ingredients you were just showing people how to use it on the cheap which is super smart with todays inflation. If some people want to know why we use toxins on dishes I say because in 2024 that is what is available. Sure, we can make our own soap. I have made my own soap and it works but not well especially when you have to do housework after working 30 to 60 hours a week. You can also find some soaps that are slightly less toxic and you pay a pretty penny for them too. I say take advantage of reasonable money saving tips rinse your dishes well and say an occasional prayer to whatever higher power you believe in. And to naysayers you knew this video was about dawn dishwashing liquid before you tuned in or should I say trolled in😂

I think you mean $.50 Unless you know how to make it for half a penny. 🤔
