Hi there - thank you for the video. I’m just wondering if you can help me figure out why “spotlight” isn’t available under “Gimbal” as an option for mapping to C2?
Great and very informative video. On my Mavic when i power on the remote the Crystalsky also powers on and launches the GO app. I would asume it is the same for Phantom and Inspire remotes as well. Is the battery hotswappable like on the Crystalsky?
wonder if you will be trying out using cendence as the master controller and the original I2 controller as a slave just so we can understand the interraction between the 2 in that setup ??
Excellent advice n video sir. I haven't yet gotten a Inspire 2 but closer every day. Wish you were within distance as I could use some help down the road. So its either a M2E, M2P, Typhoon H Plus or the ultimate Inspire 2. I have waited for 5 yrs to buy a drone n let prices n technology n the bugs worked out. An soon I will have one. Any thoughts or suggestions out there? My biggest concern is flyaways n finding other drone guys out there to aid in prevention of such. Thanks Ty
Ty Clark i've heard of very few DJI flyaways with the newer drones (only ones I've heard are a few mavic pro instances and some of the old phantoms) but never have I ever heard of an inspire 2 flying away. It's expensive as fuck and i could never afford it, but if I could I would certaintly go for it, so long as you use it for cinematography as it's intended, it isn't really a hobbyist drone. Edit: Unless you're really rich, in which case I guess it COULD be a hobbyist drone.
Mad RC you state that the 5.8 antennas are inside the Cendence and I believe you. The debate is that the Patch Antenna is for both 2.4 and 5.8. Any insight on this? Thanks. Rodger
Is there some kind of support system for the Cendence? If so please send me the link or where I can purchase it. I know you said it’s fairly heavy so I want to find a way to support it as best I can. Thanks and I appreciate all the information that you provide for all the DJI drones and the other accessories. I watch your tutorials for getting information that can help me to be a better pilot.
Just follow the usual process so in the App connected to the Cendence under remote click the binding option the. Press the button on the side of the Cinecore on the Inspire 2. This process is also listed in the manual.
paulypyro the patch would give more range but will be far more directional so your going to have to pay more attention to makeing sure you aligned with the craft, it also sits a little better with the CrystalSky imo. Also the patch will be for 2.4ghz only not 5.8.
What I want to know the most, does this allow for smoother flying than the standard remote? For example, is the feel better when yawing, etc. or is it still difficult to slow the controls enough to allow for buttery smooth flight?
It is better, this video does not include the changes made later by DJI and I am intending to re film it with more info that was added like the ability to control the craft behaviour on the side sliders, you basically have the option for reducing the rates on Yaw or movement and can tame it all right back. Imo yes the Cendence does help to film smoother.
Hi and a great review ! I received my Cendense and Crystal Sky U a few days ago, the issue I have is when saving the custom button settings, is there a correct process to follow when assigning and saving / copying etc, I can not find this in the the PDF manual or reviews . thank you in advance
Icebox Video Productions try resetting the CrystalSky back to factory default, I have found that after updating it some times can do odd things and a factory reset after updating clears it all down, be warned if you do this you will loose all data on the CS device but it should solve it reset by going into Settings, Backup & Reset, Factory Data Reset then clicking Reset Device, also make sure you select Clear SD card too.
Wonderful review intro, thanks. I'm relatively new to this, still unpacking my DJi I-1. I may be missing something but is there a Zoom function on any of the cameras or in the controller's software? If not why not?
What a great review you know your stuff my friend I'll be watching from here on out. I need to find out how to get the bracket you printed awesome please let me know where to get one.
Cendence can charge the battery via the side connector just like the original remote or you can use the external battery hub, Cendence uses the same battery as Crystalsky.
excellent review!! the only feature I'm surprised this control doesn't allow is for the use of a second screen slave to the master screen ie allowing you to attach a tablet or 2nd cendence screen even a mobile for a direct main camera feed (or flight camera feed etc) then having the camera options direct to that allowing a single pilot with full view & control of everything without jumping from 1 view to another.. however compared to the basic hand controller this unit is far far far superior,,, now I cant wait for the next generation of the inspire series drone..
Sky High Aerial Productions Hi , Thanks for the question, I have been part of the DJI public beta test program for a few years now and as part of this I have always tried to give as much good and solid data back to DJI as I can, as a result of this from time to time I have been extremely lucky to have been selected to get an early look at some things such as Crystalsky and Cendence. Sorry I have no idea about the promotional products that some companies or DJI send out, my channel is no where near large enough to be on anyone’s radar from that point of view, from the Beta side DJI often post opportunity’s on their own forum and anyone can apply. Thanks
When I rename the 'user in blue' to a different name and then customise the buttons then close and restart the Go4 then go back to the menu it appears to be back at the screen before I made any custom changes. the app is V4.1.18 remote controller is 02.00.00.45. am I doing something wrong?
Kenneth Stinson Cendence is now shipping from DJI all be it slowly but a number of guys have received shipments this week. Overall availability should improve soon.
Nicely done. The one key feature Cendence is missing is the ability to have digital trim like most FUTABA Controllers. This really allows for fine tune movement for Yaw, ascent and descent for directional control for smooth dolly type shots fwd, bkwd, left and right vs holding your thumbs and not varying at all on the position you are holding. All classic full featured controllers have this feature so I am amazed at a 999.00 price point that they left these out? Would be a good suggestion and maybe the slider controls on the bottom and thumb wheels could be mapped for that functionality with a firmware upgrade? That truly brings it into the controlled and consistent functionality required by pros and for film.
Eric Braun Yes, but the Inspire 2 has also the Lightbridge 2 and an A3 Controller inside. So maybe it would work. There was some other things in the past, which DJI has claimed it will not work, but when people has tryied, it actually worked. So i still hope and i will try it. If its not working, i still can use the Cendence with my inspire 2. Anyway it seems like a great Remote compared with the normal DJI Remotes. Best Regards.
Absolutely, and for some reason I managed to record the whole damn thing saying it wrong, after some bad edits got it out but still how it got that into my head I do not know Shocking :)
I Agree it is some coin but you can't really compare this to anything else as only DJI have builtin HD video in LB ink and SDI output. If you look at it compared to say an RC and a HD link then its not so much.
Hi Everyone, I hope the info in this video has been helpful to you, I would really appreciate it if you would subscribe to the channel. If you would also like to support me in what I do below is link to the DJI Cendence on the DJI Store, this is an affiliate link and by using this you are helping me continue to run my channel and keep making videos like this. click.dji.com/ACFF-ed6Q6q18-UBQOta?pm=custom Thank you for watching and as I said please do Subscribe, Like and Share :)
This is a late comment but I have a few drones including the i2, this remote looks fantastic but i'm quite happy with the standard remote with the CS but can see the advantages with the programmable buttons that I would love. I have and pushed the "I want" as far as I can go, will have to wait till I retire and win tatts lol There needs to be more consideration to the inspire its self, rear and side obstacle sensors as I have lost 1 i2 to the ocean due to this.
Another great example of DJI sales baiting. They release videos and brochures, then wait 6 months to release them, during which time technology has increased exponentially, and thusly the "new" release is antiquated. Get off your ass DJI.
Can i connect the sdi connector to a teradek transmitter for wirless connection for the director screen?
No reason why not, as long as it supports the input resolutions.

What is the use of patch antenna with cendence remote
wonder if you will be trying out using cendence as the master controller and the original I2 controller as a slave just so we can understand the interraction between the 2 in that setup ??
paulypyro I have been using the master and slave setup for a few days and it works exactly the same as it does with duel standard I2 remotes.
Appenditure?
Excellent advice n video sir. I haven't yet gotten a Inspire 2 but closer every day. Wish you were within distance as I could use some help down the road.

You mentioned not being able to run crystal sky and tablet simultaneously. How about crystal sky & DJI Goggles? Or using Goggles wirelessly?
Pete Gertonson This I do not know and I can't test this a minute sadly :(!
Great talk-through, you've just helped me decide to buy this and a CS Ultra for my Inspire 2...
Mad RC you state that the 5.8 antennas are inside the Cendence and I believe you. The debate is that the Patch Antenna is for both 2.4 and 5.8. Any insight on this? Thanks. Rodger
this is still a little grey, I was under the belief that the patch was 2.4G only but this has been brought into question.
It is grey. the two antennas would be cut at diferent lengths.
Any idea as to why the camera Yaw wheel on the right of my Cendence worked once and no longer works?
Is there some kind of support system for the Cendence? If so please send me the link or where I can purchase it. I know you said it’s fairly heavy so I want to find a way to support it as best I can. Thanks and I appreciate all the information that you provide for all the DJI drones and the other accessories. I watch your tutorials for getting information that can help me to be a better pilot.
Would you be able to bind this to a dji A3 flight controller?
I bought new controller (Cendence) do you know how can I contact it to the aircraft ? (Inspire 2)
Just follow the usual process so in the App connected to the Cendence under remote click the binding option the. Press the button on the side of the Cinecore on the Inspire 2. This process is also listed in the manual.
I dont have “update home point...” option in my cendence configuration. Maybe a bug in last update ? Thanks !!!
Interested to know what it offers over and above the existing antenna tho
paulypyro the patch would give more range but will be far more directional so your going to have to pay more attention to makeing sure you aligned with the craft, it also sits a little better with the CrystalSky imo.

Mad RC Thanks for getting back to me quickly. This is good news and basically makes my decision on purchasing the Inspire 2.

Icebox Video Productions should not be what exactly is the issue your getting, any error ?
there is one error when saving "20171223_2134_26.json failed, please check yourApp storage permission
Icebox Video Productions try resetting the CrystalSky back to factory default, I have found that after updating it some times can do odd things and a factory reset after updating clears it all down, be warned if you do this you will loose all data on the CS device but it should solve it
reset by going into Settings, Backup & Reset, Factory Data Reset then clicking Reset Device, also make sure you select Clear SD card too.
Love it! Thank you very much for sharing all this info.
Can we make control with any drones by that controller ???
Sorry no this is for DJI Inspire 2 or M200 series.
Really great review thank you!
Wonderful review intro, thanks.
I'm relatively new to this, still unpacking my DJi I-1.
I may be missing something but is there a Zoom function on any of the cameras or in the controller's software?
If not why not?
Oh I wish they made this remote available for the P4P. Really want more control and the LCD screen would be great!
Yea, there is a POSSIBILITY it will bind to the P4P but I can't test this my self
if the knob spins indefinitely is it still a potentiometer?
It’s a digital rotary switch really but we are so used to calling these things pots it’s habit.
A very informative presentation,Thank you......
Thanks
not able to set the course lock to a programmable button ????
Currently some things are missing but hopefully DJI will add more over time
What a great review you know your stuff my friend I'll be watching from here on out. I need to find out how to get the bracket you printed awesome please let me know where to get one.
What about the charger?
Cendence can charge the battery via the side connector just like the original remote or you can use the external battery hub, Cendence uses the same battery as Crystalsky.

Hi, is the controller comparable with LB2? I would change to the Cendence in a flash if it is.
Keith
Sadly not at the moment due to the changes between the LB2 and the system thats known as LB 2.5 on the Inspire 2 and M200 Series.
Any idea if this remote will work with the Inspire 1 v2?
It does not sorry Cendence is Inspire 2 or M200 Series only officially, unofficially it will work with the Phantom 4 Pro Version 1 but not the V2.0
Many thanks for this, well done!
Thanks :)
hi there this has been fantastic
How did you get on the list to receive DJI product to review?
Sky High Aerial Productions Hi , Thanks for the question, I have been part of the DJI public beta test program for a few years now and as part of this I have always tried to give as much good and solid data back to DJI as I can, as a result of this from time to time I have been extremely lucky to have been selected to get an early look at some things such as Crystalsky and Cendence.

cant wait to use this on my spark
Squaller LMFAO
patch antenna is an intriguing move, looks a great controller tho
paulypyro the patch antenna is interesting indeed and I will be playing with that very soon.
When I rename the 'user in blue' to a different name and then customise the buttons then close and restart the Go4 then go back to the menu it appears to be back at the screen before I made any custom changes. the app is V4.1.18 remote controller is 02.00.00.45. am I doing something wrong?
I will look into this further this week :)
When will it be available?
Kenneth Stinson Cendence is now shipping from DJI all be it slowly but a number of guys have received shipments this week. Overall availability should improve soon.
Hey can you use this on the DJI Mavic
Sorry no its Inspire 2 and M200 Series only.
No mention of GPS. My unit contains one internally.
Cendence does not have internal GPS sorry.
I would have a hard time figuring out enough commands to program to all of those programmable buttons! lol
Very interesting video!
Thanks :)

Harry I was surprised they didn’t offer dual batteries so you can hot swap them like on the i2.
Harry, what are you talking about?! You do not need digital trims - have you flown a drone? They self stabilize. There is Zero need for trims.
very good video
Thanks
has everybody tried to paire the cendense with a Lightbridge 2 and an A3 or N3? I really hope this will work!
I don't think that would work. The Cendence is compatible with the Inspire 2 and M200 only.
Eric Braun Yes, but the Inspire 2 has also the Lightbridge 2 and an A3 Controller inside. So maybe it would work. Best Regards.
Where did you hear it uses LB 2 and the A3? I've never seen that. I have seen that it uses a version of LB, but it's not 2 AFAIK
Thank you for information !!!!!
Thanks
Awesome!!!!
Cendence is pronounced the same as the second half of the word "transcendence"
Absolutely, and for some reason I managed to record the whole damn thing saying it wrong, after some bad edits got it out but still how it got that into my head I do not know
Shocking :)
£900? Compare that to a Jeti DC24. Its not good value for a TX but heyy were all merrily locked-in!!
I Agree it is some coin but you can't really compare this to anything else as only DJI have builtin HD video in LB ink and SDI output. If you look at it compared to say an RC and a HD link then its not so much.

Anthony Smith You lost an I2 due to it’s lack of rear and side obstacle sensors?! Somehow I doubt that.
Aww mann....I thought the unlock button which is *not connected* to the controller's electronics was programmable...wont that be fun
$1000 for a controller?
Luke 16x a basic inspire2 remote costs 750, so 1000 is actually pretty good
Candence? Cendence my man.
Ho my god u have to take pilot lessons to learn all that @,@
Another great example of DJI sales baiting. They release videos and brochures, then wait 6 months to release them, during which time technology has increased exponentially, and thusly the "new" release is antiquated. Get off your ass DJI.
John Sarviss hopefully it will be available soon to Inspire Users, the M200 is steeling all the stock at the moment as I understand it.
You could half the duration of this video if you didn't repeat yourself every time you make a point
Netfocus thanks for the feedback.
You suck he forgot more than you will ever know
