    I'm 78 my wife is 77, we had the privilege, and I mean privilege, to see Nightwish on May 10th in New York....They were Magical, you can't say enough about the band, but Floor, you can't take your eyes off of her, the class she has and interaction with the crowd is unmatched....My wife and I will never forget what we shared together that night....

      Husband & I are 70. We saw them in Maryland. We wholeheartedly agree with you. Indeed it is a privilege to watch these Master Class musicians performing together for the sake of music and the pleasure of sharing their joy with us. It can’t get any better than that. Cheers!

      I anvy you and your wife. I am 71 and my wife is 63 and we missed the Nightwish concert in Amsterdam last year November because of a lockdown at that time in the Netherlands.
      This time we will miss Nightwish again because we are flying back to Thailand after 2.5 years. Damn COVID-19!

    "The cosmic laws of gravity pulls the newborns around a fire" is a statement of the newly formed planets being pulled into their orbit around the sun. "Lonely farer in the Goldilocks zone, she has a tale to tell." refers to planet earth ... the Goldilocks zone being the area "not too hot and not too cold" to sustain life as we know it. Everything Tuomas wrote has references to the development of life on this planet, LUCA being Lost Universal Common Ancestor - the life-form to which all creatures can trace their existence. Little Lucy, the remains found in Ethiopia that are believed to be the first biped. 21 minutes to tell the story of billions of years, and it was done in genius fashion. A person should get college credit for watching this brilliance. It is simply the greatest composition of my lifetime, and I'm an old guy. I've watched it over and over and still get tears ... especially when Floor whispers ... "us sleeping." Very nice job,, Jim. Thank you for allowing to relive our first time through you.

    A cool thing to point out when Tuomas was playing the opening keyboard riff with 6 notes at a time and with space in the background those 6 notes at a time stands for carbon carbon is number 6 on the periodic table. That’s also because thats what was only there in space. And the fireworks is representing the Big Bang. Also with LUCA is basically our universe. Also with LUCY when they reference LUCY that is basically the first known modern human of today. There is so many references in this song i cant name them all

    • @karotte958
      @karotte958 Рік тому

      I think, as the first chapter is "4 point 6", meaning 4.6 Billion years ago, the creation of our solar system and Earth, the firework represents "The great bombardement", when many asteroids impacted and probably brought water.

    The most Nightwish song ever is right! My favorite Nightwish song, and my favorite performance of that song! Glad they spent the money to make it so special, because quite frankly, all things considered, I think it's the greatest live performance I've ever seen. It's just so special from start to finish, right down to the band interacting with the audience at the end, while the epic closing score played in the background, and then the bows while the fireworks went off behind them. And I love how Marko and Floor both acknowledged Tuomas at the end, to show their appreciation of what he has created (and not just the TGSOE). I don't think I've seen a reactor point that out, but I notice it every time, and I think it's worth mentioning.

    The fireworks represent the early cosmic asteroid and meteor bombarbment that the very young earth sustained which some scientist theorize might have brought with them the buidling blocks for life.
    The lyrics later refer to the "newborns" meaning the planets settling in their orbits around the Sun. Goldilocks zone is the "perfect" distance for a star that can sustain life, not to hot, not to cold.
    "Devonian sea" is the Devonian era when oceans begun spawning a massive amount of diverse species of fish.
    There are so many of these references to parts of our evolutional history and it all ties in with the "We Were Here" when you hear the last bit read by Dawkins about how lucky we are to even have been born.

    @572Btriode 2 роки тому +2

    Good stuff Jim, I hope you can now make sense of my attempt at a lyrical analysis I sent 22/01/2021.
    Epic it is, let me remind you, the odds about any of us being here now are 400 trillion to one against.
    Nice touch, the DNA helices on the drum faces and a representation in Floor's costume that can also be seen as the Finnish national flag.
    What a scientifically accurate musical ride through life on the planet and beyond, the genius of Tuomas Holopainen.
    We were here, we have always been here along with our DNA, but unassembled; it all came in the space dust and condensing gas that made the planet; everything and everyone to come is here now, unassembled. We'll all be here when we're gone, but in a different elemental form of a prior state.
    The planet is unchanged, what is here, was here when it formed, we can ignore the less than insignificant material loss from space hardware or the gains by meteoric impact.
    Dawkins hypothesises there will be a human extinction event (The last light of the library), we've had dinosaur extinction and they were way more successful than humankind having ruled for 165 million years suppressing mammalian life against our piffling 300,000 years so far.
    Dawkins suggests the next most successful life forms, rats, (Ratkind) may well take over after a human extinction and have more than enough time to evolve, become sentient and research humankind as a previous life form.
    The planet only has another 5 billion years until the ever increasing sun, which is at its half-life now, evaporates the oceans, covers the globe in sand and then becomes a red giant swallowing the solar system before collapsing to a white dwarf. We will all have departed a while before that for whatever reason.

    The only thing wrong with this masterpiece is that life came before LUCA ....

    • @majbrat
      @majbrat 2 роки тому

      I think that was covered with Floor saying somewhere there, us sleeping.
      Other life was growing in the meantime, and then the spoken word " ..we opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life.."
      The LUCA verse comes after generalizing our planet formed from the stellar nursery, and adding for our own history, enter LUCA.
      That is my take on how he wrote it anyway. :)

      I think your theory is wrong, though. I believe the fireworks represent meteors colliding with earth, carrying the resources needed to form life. Big bang was about 13.8 billion years ago, not 4.6 as the first section of the song is titled, which is the age of Earth.
