The Sad Girl Autumn version of All Too Well is such a masterpiece, i also can only listen to that version at this point. Everything about it is perfect, from her voice to the instrumentation to the black and white video.
i agree with the stolen versions being better than the tv in some cases-mainly in red due to different production choices and overall due to difference in the emotion. if it makes you feel better, taylor said that people don't 'have to' buy or stream the tvs and its fine if you buy the og physicals. it's not a bad thing as long as you support the tv project. also yes, taylor is scary to ride a cycle in address lol. But great reaction, took me back so many years and reminded me why i loved the videas back then!
As an OG swiftie and a vocal coach it is concerning to me how many swifties confuse the vocal technical strain of the stolen versions with emotion.... She wasn´t more emotional, she had to strain her voice and clench her jaw back then and now her technique is so great that she doesn´t need to anymore. To me the TV versions are surperior in every way, vocals, choices and especially production.
@yara5502 i understand, but maybe that youthfulness/ voice breaks did give the versions a different quality - something i agree we do equate with emotion. im not sure i appreciate all the production changes they make though. while they dont make the song bad in any way, it is different from the og which might not always be a good thing.
@@yara5502I really prefer the production on most of the original versions. The Taylor's versions don't hit the same sometimes. I also liked her country accent when singing which was completely absent from the rerecordings. There is also something charming about her youthful voice, especially considering the lyrical content of her early songs. It's part of the reason I completely refer the OG Speak Now to the rerecordings. I also don't like the new production.
Because she’s literally a legal adult now, 22 in these videos. That’s why you see a change, also the change coincides with the more pop blend in this album than the others. I like that she didn’t try to look older/edgier before she was 21. It’s appropriate that it’s a real representation of a girl at 21/22 figuring herself out now that she’s more of a young adult than a teenager. She didn’t go away to college but this is often how girls change after being away at college for a few years, they get a new hairstyle, wear new make up or clothes, just discover a grown up version of themselves sometimes. It’s really nice that Taylor’s long time fans got to grow up along side her.
you should react to ed sheeran and tay - "the joker and the queen" music video, It's like a sequel to everything has changed's music video, with the same actors
She is also married to Ryan Reynolds which may be a link that is useful- even though that in no way means she is not also famous herself for her own talents.
It seems to me that Folklore was recorded at home due to the pandemic and the "Long Pond Sessions" was the first time they got together to play the songs and record the small documentary.
Snow Patrol was her favorite band at the time btw❤️ I agree that the og version has more raw emotion to the vocal performance, and since 2012 it has been one of my favorites from Red, but when the TV came out, i was able to pick up on a beautiful soul-crushing violin melody that was always there but got lost in the old production, towards the 4:12 minute mark time you can hear it, i think just that detail totally makes the song a completely different experience and since you like it i thought i'd share😊
Not sure if this counts as it’s not *from* the Red era but her performance of Holy Ground at the Formula 1 in Austin Texas is one of her best ever imo. She was sick but still sounded incredible with an amazing raspiness to her voice! Other than that I’m sure people have told you All Too Well from the Grammy’s and ATW10MIN from SNL!
If you wanna get a physical copy of the original versions, go ahead. I honestly still stream them. Can't wait for your 1989 reaction. The music videos from that album are great!
Love love love the I Bet You Think About Me music video! One of her best ever, so fun. I hope you'll react to Sugarland's Babe ft. Taylor Swift video as well (one of the vault tracks on Red TV that TS originally gave to that band). You might just see Taylor star in it 👀❤️
Great video. Regarding the last video, Blake Lively is an actress (star of Gossip Girl) and wife of Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and one of Taylor's best friends. The main actor is Miles Teller. He and his wife are also close friends with Taylor.
The part of red (the song) that you think is a sample is actually Taylor’s vocals! You can hear the difference between the older version and the new one!
Ed Sheeran put out a video semi-recently for The Joker and the Queen (I think) that’s a follow up to the Everything Has Changed video with the same actors. It’s worth checking out.
It’s either about Mayer or Gyllenhaal. I think that would make more sense considering that’s who she was with in the Red era, but who knows. He certainly resembles Mayer though.
Seeing these old MV, there were easter eggs galore. But no one comments on the cardigan cable sweater material on the walls of WANEGBT MV, a big easter egg for the future.
I just want to say I really really enjoy watching you react.. I appreciate the honesty and just the pure enjoyment you seem to bring to all your reactions.. I especially like the format that you choose.. You don't just pick a select few and comment but take each individual album as a whole.
22:52 a man with TASTE! Snow Patrol my favorite band but they are criminally underrated. I cannot tell you how nice it is to find others who love them too. I already had mad respect for you for your thoughtful reactions and commentary and it all adds up. Those who recognize SP's greatness have good taste and a good heart.
as a swiftie for more than a decade, you have my blessing to buy any stolen versions of her first 6 albums like the CDs or vinyls (while still supporting the Taylor's Versions) cuz even I myself have some issues with some rerecorded tracks. some songs can't be replicate again i'm afraid plus i literally grew up with those songs but most songs got better actually and raised the bar especially from Fearless TV. Taylor is doing this rerecordings to take ownership and not to make gigantic amount of money off of it, we support this movement but the stolen versions won't be forgotten at least for me... i hope all swifties get this.
Spotify pays artists between $0.003 - $0.005 per stream on average anyway, so it hardly makes a difference to stream the original ones, as long as you stream TV on most songs
As an Og swiftie I will never stream the stolen ones, it´s not about the money, I will support Taylors quest and not give Scott and Scooter a dime or any other man that tried to take her down. Of course I have all the stolen versions cd from the years, but honestly the TV versions are of so much better quality in vocals and production that I never feel the need to hear the stolen versions. Unfortunately many confuse her vocal technical strain back then for emotion. I loved them all but the TVs are superior.
For the live performances, PLEASE watch these two gems: VH1 Storytellers: Taylor Swift Live at Harvey Mudd College; and Taylor Swift: Live on the Seine (in France)… watch all 25 mins, not the chopped up clips out there. I’ve watched these 2 performances soooo many times, they’re great! Taylor plays her famous red acoustic guitar throughout both shows too, which I personally love, lol… watching helped teach me to play guitar along with her! 🎸❤️❤️❤️🎉
look i know some Swifties are very hard on just only listening to the Taylor's Version and all , but if there is a few songs that you prefer the Original version better just go for it , its OK , im a swiftie for 12 years and there are 4 or 5 songs that i still listen to the OG version ( i like them better ) , its fine
You can arrogantly say it´s fine, but it matters to Taylor and it should matter to you. It is very weird for a long time swiftie to support the men that tried to take her down, it´s not about the money it´s about the fact that she has made it very clear how important this is to her, and as a fan to go against the quest to take the stolen versions down permenatly is mind-boggling to me. If she could remove them she would, but she cannot, so we need to support it. If you prefer the vocal technical strain of some of the stolen versions then there are CDs. But if there are swifties out there who just care about her music but not her as a human being I guess they wouldn´t care about supporting that.
@@yara5502 its not like i listen to ALL of the OG versions , only just some of them , and i should say that im a international fan from a country that doesn’t sell CDs of American Singers , she never gonna come here for a concert or anything
This version of all too well runs deeper; it's truly a sad version, but I never thought that song could be sadder. However, leave it to TS and Aaron Dessner to make me weep again with this song.

blake lively is ryan reynold’s wife and one of taylor’s best friends. in fact, the characters in the folklore love triangle are named after ryan and blake’s children!
I agree. Her voice was much higher and softer at that time. So for pop songs like wrnegbt or 22, those songs were meant for to sing at that age. Her voice was edgy and full of force, perfectly capcable of showing a young girl's lifestyle and choice in that time
Fun fact also about I bet you think about me, the bride is actually Miles Teller’s (the love interest) real life wife Keleigh Teller. Blake Lively is one of Taylor’s friends, she is an actress and is also the wife of Ryan Reynolds. Lively and Reynolds’s kids (James, Betty and Inez) are referenced in her song Betty (from the Folklore album) and James is the baby voice at the beginning of her song Gorgeous from her Reputation album.
You should listen to Madison beer she has two albums life support that is a couple of years old and Silence between songs that came out last year she has great vocals and amazing writing !!

I agree. Her voice was much higher and softer at that time. So for pop songs like wrnegbt or 22, those songs were meant for to sing at that age. Her voice was edgy and full of force, perfectly capcable of showing a young girl's lifestyle and choice in that time
so I think for pop songs I do like the stolen versions better.
I knew you were trouble was definitely based more on his vibes and how she tried to fit in.
Fun fact also about I bet you think about me, the bride is actually Miles Teller’s (the love interest) real life wife Keleigh Teller.
Blake Lively is one of Taylor’s friends, she is an actress and is also the wife of Ryan Reynolds. Lively and Reynolds’s kids (James, Betty and Inez) are referenced in her song Betty (from the Folklore album) and James is the baby voice at the beginning of her song Gorgeous from her Reputation album.
did you catch at the end of "I bet you think about me" that his pocket hankerchief had turned red, it was white in the beginning.

Blake Lively is married to Ryan Reynolds & she’s one of Taylor’s besties.

Blake Lively has been in quite a few things. She's Ryan Reynolds' wife though, and that couple is friends with Taylor.

It’ll break us to revisit but we need you to watch her sing Ronan at the benefit for cancer she did.
I did once for the album and once for the red era live reactions but I don’t think I have it in me to hear Ronan again.
