The “Pink Mist” ornament for Malfeasance is also a reference to the needler, it fits too, since they both supercombine their target.
Remember Destiny 1, on earth… you visit a tomb/burial ground… and Ghost tells you that he tried rezzing someone before you, but the last war he fought was enough for a thousand lifetimes.

The message when using rag doll is also a reference to halo 2 when cheif gives the covenant back their bomb. Johnson says he flew like a brick, in D2 it says flies like a brick

Some additional notes about the weapons.
The BxR-55, while it could easily be based on the Halo 2 and 3 BR, is based more on the Halo 2 variant. The Halo 2 BR fires at a slightly faster RPM, and the 450rpm frame BxR is on, is closer to Halo 2. Also, "A treasured competition piece from a bygone era." i feel is clearly a nod to the good ol' MLG days, that Halo 2 basically created.
BxR itself is based on an exploit turned technique, adept players used to get quick kills. The technique involved getting close to your enemy, meleeing them (B), pressing reload, (X), and shooting (R). Doing this, people could get insanely quick kills, since a melee, and 1 full burst to the head was enough to kill. And the weird coding in Halo 2 allowed pressing X on a full mag to instantly ready the BR after a melee. Blunt Execution Rounds is also a nod to this technique.
The perk for Half-Truths, and The Other Half, Eager Edge, seems to me like a reference to another Halo 2 exploit, called Sword Canceling. The idea is, you take a scoped weapon, you zoom in on a far away enemy, and when the reticle is red, you switch to the sword, and quickly press R, as the scope is un-zooming. If done correctly, the Sword's reticle will be red for a fraction of a frame, and will lung you towards that enemy. It's a technique still used in speedruns for Halo 2 to this day, they are bat shit insane, and a lot of fun to watch.

The downside about putting halo weapons in destiny is I recognize this is a halo gun im holding so I press the wrong melee
I've been just punching things way more now lol. But I tend to press the r3 to try to aim because that's what I sued to use.

Fun fact. The BXR-55's name is also similar to the original designation of Bungie's battle rifle, the BR-55.
The Titan helmet resembles the chief, with the lights on either side of the head, and the sorta pattern ontop of the helmet going down towards the face.
The Titan Vest has two patches on the back, one says M, the other says C, my guess it stands for Master Chief.
The Titan Mark has Chiefs Shoulder pauldrons on it.
Also forgot the Ragdoll emote, it's a reference to how if you or an enemy died by an explosion or in mid-air you'd do that exact animation, cuz at the time they didn't have ragdoll physics.

Love this vid! This is also the third time Master Chief has been mentioned in Destiny: 1. The cabal post on Mars resembles the helmet of chief 2. The pod within the Cosmodrome right before you take the stealth drive & 3. being at the end of the video.
Anyone else feel that the hunters got screwed when it comes to the streetclothes set? The titan and warlock got really cool outfits with really cool references, then you got the hunter with a sweater and a beanie.

The Forerunner firing sounds more like the Halo CE Anniversary version of the Magnum, than the original sound effect. In my opinion 😊
You did miss one, when you do the magnum quest and reach the slanted crystal wall theres a flavor text at the bottom the screen thwt says "this cave isn't a natural formation"
In Halo 2 “BXR” was a glitch players used to melee AND headshot someone.

Eager Edge is a reference too. There's a trick in Halo games where you zoom in with a weapon then switch to the sword and instantly swing and you can yeet yourself, much like the perk.
I miss cross mapping kids with the sword.
The perk is basically that move. The thing is these weren't perks for us. Just pure skill. Bomb hopping. Grenade combos. Sword flashing. These were tricks we just had to learn just to get better in multiplayer. Because HACKING WAS RAMPANT! 😫😂😂😂
You forgot the finishers, the one of the sword is how Sangheilis used to execute you or melee with the sword, you still can see that animation in Infinite; the one with Magnum is the classic Magnum punch that could one ko you back in Halo CE
Armor lock emote will actually block effects from being applied like detainment if the shield is up when they make contact
I love the naming of the Destiny's BXR based on Halo 2 BXR move with the BR.
And I'll tell you that perk, eager edge, during a strike, it yesterday me past the enemy I wanted into an explode shank and launched my corpse like a ragdoll off the map.

- Skull 2 is referencing Operation Desert Storm (Old Bungie Game)
- Skull 3 is referencing Minotaur: The Labyrinths of Crete
- Skull 4 is referencing Marathon (Either the end of Marathon 1 or litterally Marathon 2: Durandal)
- Skull 5 is referencing Halo (most notably Halo 2 at the beggining where the Prophet of Truth told Arbiter if he was blinded by Halo's majesty)
- Skull 6 is a reference to Oni
-Skull 7 is a reference to Pathways into Darkness, where you gain the power to speak to skeletons or dead bodies and gain clues or hints on what to do next.
You forgot about the Other Half. Which is the other half of the Half Truths that forms a full energy sword. It can roll with Eager Edge too.
That said, I love that the Retraced Paths is 10 times better than the Focus Rifle and it's also the first Legendary Trace Rifle. I pretty much main it on my Warlock for general mobbing.
This is why I love destiny and halo
When playing with these Halo weapons I automatically reload and zoom using the Halo control scheme 🤦🏻♂️😂

The magnum is definitely closer to the Reach magnum
Finally someone else who sees it, I've played every Halo game using nothing else but the Mag, and it is definitely the Reach magnum but with the CE magnum's strength.

The GJNKR has a symbol resembling an eagle. Spartans in Halo use an eagle as a symbol, which is also a nod to Master Chief's childhood, guessing which side of a coin it would land on.
In the last Dungeon encounter, the pods where the engrans rain down it's literally a reference to the D1 Master Chief easter egg. Where you go get Cayde's stash.
The br in d2 resembles more the original h2 br especially the way its positioned in the guardians hands

I'm actually surprised how much the forunner actually feels like a magnum variant you could find in a halo game.
The Gjallarhorn ornament is based on the Macworld 1999 demo for Halo CE, and that is what the SPNKr looked like in that early build. The "GJ" in the name for Gjallarhorn.
Hopefully we get a quick video on the Marathon references as well! There's not as many, but they're just as important!
Skulls have actually been around since before Halo. Pathways into Darkness is the first I know of, though Marathon is the first where you can hold one.

Having the pistol be called forerunner, and having it be described as master chief’s gun, it is just another confirmation that humans were forerunners according to Bungie.
A new Easter egg is one of the current modifiers for dates of eternity, keep it loaded. The image consists of a sidearm with a halo ring present, keep it loaded refers to Captain Keys quote “I don’t keep it loaded son, you’ll have to find ammo as you go”.
Where does one get hive smasher? I heard from someone it was on ever verse but I can't see it. Do you think it will be back?

the titan pants for streetwear is like a cloth version of the mjolnir armor and on the titan mark you could see some pieces of mjolnir shoulder armor.

I'm also 90% sure the music that plays in the shield encounter of the new dungeon is a variation of the Reach Theme
The armour sets you can get with Treasure Keys in Xur's Loot Cave is all Marathon armour.
The Hunter has the Security armour from the main character, and its also in Halo 3 as well.
The Titan armour is the Hunter's from Marathon which is what the Halo Hunter's took inspiration from.
And the Warlock armour is based off of the S'pht that could teleport when you shot at it.
Apart from the armour, you can also get the luscious Shotgun from the game as well, now called the Wastelander M5, unless it was always called that? It also only has one barrel I remember it having two, at least it flips after reloading like in the original.

The armour lock emote reminds me of Roman Reign's old entrance or what he does before a Superman Punch sometimes. Think it's the same reference to Halo.
i could be wrong but another easter egg is in the dungeon during the fallen shield encounter. The servitors are called “Abundance Monitor” (which if i remember correctly is close to what the oracle from halo 3 was called) and Oracles look like mini servitors with the one eye and all. And whenever you take down the servitors shield to kill it it says something in the bottom left that mentions something about “icon of excess” which could reference the “Sacred Icon” from Halo 2. But i could be completely wrong about all of this.
Eager edge is based off a trick you could do in Halo were if you aimed a sniper at an enemy and quickly swapped to the sword and attacked it would lunge you just like eager edge does.
"Forerunner" is something that precedes another thing, just like Halo precedes Destiny, but the name is also a reference to the Forerunner alien race from Halo.
BXR is the name of a combo that you could do in Halo 2 where you pressed B and then RB y think yo melee and instantly get a shot on your enemy.
The name half truths could be a reference to the prophet of truth from Halo.
The other half sword being purple could be a reference to the energy sword having a more purple-ish tone in the original Halo 2.

The awoken ships, like the one in the awoken wing of the H.E.L.M, are the Sentinels from Halo but backwards.
I know that this isn’t that relevant but in “The First” mission I think it’s called, when you fight enemies by two ships and a force field, THAT EXACT design of THAT level is in Halo 1. But the difference is that in Halo one you actually take their ship and leave.
The BXR is a button combo you could of done in halo 2, so thats where they got the name of the new pulse rifle
