    Hey Ryan!
    Thanks so much for reading and replying to questions and comments. I really appreciate it.
    I have a personal question and I wasn't sure how else to send it. Do you have any advice about copyrighting? I would like to sell models online but I'm not sure how to tell if it's legal to sell certain things. For example: I'm working on a model of the TARDIS. The 3D modeling of it is original but the inspiration came from somewhere else. Or for example modeling small things that you'd find around a house to sell to people working on a build. How do you tell when it's legal to sell one your models online. I haven't been able to find much information on this. I was hoping maybe you could help. Thanks so much. I love your channel! =D

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  3 роки тому +4

      Yes, I sell 3d models and assets, so I can give you info on that:
      Basically, different 3d model websites have different license options when you upload the product.
      If the 3d model is just some random object, like a Tree, or a sword, or a table, or something like that, then you would license it as, "royalty free" or "standard license." Each 3d model site has different license options.
      When you upload the product to sell it, you will need to select the appropriate license for the product, in the product settings.
      If you are selling a copyrighted product, like: a 3d model of a BMW Car, or a Rubik's cube, or some Fan Art or other product made by a company, then you will need to license it under the "Editorial License".
      The editorial license lets you sell the product, and make income from it, even if you don't own the idea. However, people who purchase the product, are not allowed to use it for commercial uses, only personal use.
      And again, the 3d model site will have license options for you to select.
      Something to note: Not all 3d model sites provide the same licenses. Some 3d model sites don't have an Editorial license, while others do.
      When you make an account on the 3d model site, make sure you read through the terms of service and agreements. You can also contact the websites support team if you have questions.
      I am selling many different 3d models and assets on different platforms, Like Blender Market, Art Station, CGTrader, and Sketchfab, just to name a few. On my about page on UA-cam, you can find links to all my online stores.
      Hope this helps. **please don't take this as legal advice.** 🙂 Read through the terms and conditions on the sites that you decide to sell on. They usually have a description about each license they offer.

      Also, if you are wondering what sites to sell on, I highly recommend starting with Blender Market. Out of all the 3d model sites, I make the most sales on Blender Market. I actually make the most sales on my Gumroad store, but that is because I have an audience to advertise to. But selling on Blender Market will give your products more exposure then Gumroad, because lots of people visit the site and search for products. So I would totally recommend Blender Market. 👍‍
