@@DIYtimeTech oh no. I was just generally asking.
I can’t get the hard drive out of my 2010 Apple desk top to open on my 2013 Mac Pro or 2013 mac or my 2022 windows dell. Trying to get my photos.
It starts up. The windows does detect it. But doesn’t allow me to open it at all.

See, I have two of these computers and the one that works has one nonfunctioning key. I thought I would switch the keyboard from the failing one to the working one.. We have removed the hard drive of our iMac (21.5-inch late 2013 ). We are now trying to recover all the data by copying it to another hard drive.
But it is nog working, nor with a MacBook Air, nor with a Windows laptop.
When connecting the hard drive via SATA to USB with a MacBook Air , the hard drive is not shown on the desktop, nor in Finder. Via Disk Utility, we could see the drive (APPLE HD D HTS541010A9E66 - disk3s2), but is not active/mounted.
When connecting the hard via SATA to USB with a Windows laptop, the hard drive is also not shown via Windows Explorer. In Device Manager the Disk drive is listed (APPLE HD D HTS541010A9E66 SCSI Disk Device)

    Hi, please help.
I've a Macbook Air 2017 model and my laptop just crashed yesterday with a question mark sign and I've lost all my data.
I do not want to spend extra money so I've removed the back of laptop but there are 4 battery in black and SSD in which nothing signifies "Hard drive" written on it and I'm really confused as to what has to be removed and where my date is stored? Is it the SSD where all data is available or hard drive?
If hard drive then which is the hard drive here as there are 4 black square shaped item. Please reply it would help me recover corporate data 🙏🏻

    Thanks for doing this video!
When I plug in the SSD unfortunately I have the problem, that the fotos library it shows me is not the library with all my 20000 pictures.
It is merely an old library with a couple of hundred pictures.
The thing is when my laptop used to work, the photos were there when I just opened the fotos app.
I don't know how to find my "real" library with all my photos.
    Have you got any tips?

In your home directory in Pictures folder locate Photos Library.photoslibrary file. You need to copy it to another Mac and right-click, select “Show Package Content”. Then open “Masters” folder. They should be there.

Spilt wine on my new MacBook Air (2020) a few days ago. It won’t turn on at all. Most likely going to cost as much to fix it as it is to get a brand new one. Was debating on the benefit-cost ratio before deciding. Nice to know I have this option should I purchase a new one. Informative video.

Hi there, thanks for the great video. Is this likely to work if the reason my Mac has broken is because the hard drive has failed (i.e. when I turn on in safe mode, the computer does not register that the hard drive is there)?

Most likely not. Hard drive must be working for this method.

Were you able to remove the hard drive yet?

I've got MacBook Air 2013 and after Big Sur it stopped recognising internal volume. The local serviceman said that the ssd is most likely dead. Is it possible to get data from SSD Samsung for MacBook 2013? I'm having problems finding specialists for MacBook ssd. Can I buy the correct adapter and try to recover files myself or is it not likely?

What do you do if the HD appears and then goes away and message "I did not eject disk properly"

Some models have built into motherboard hard drives.

Dude, I hope no one is THAT brutal. It was an excellent video. I own an I.T. company and I only charge $65 bucks to do this. Some places, just as you said in your video (I'm not going to mention any names.... GEEK SQUAD), try to rake you over the coals. Hot ones...

Hello, I tried this but my Imac froze every time I tried to move a folder from the old ssd drive that was in my old Imac to the new Imac. Any idea what to do. Thank you in advance.

Is there a reason my connected MacBook hard drive isn’t showing up on an iPad? Does it need to be another MacBook for the files to be accessible?

On iPad you need to use “Files” app.
