Advertising is a vital source of revenue for many UA-camrs, so it seems fine when they mention the sponsor of their videos and suggest that we give the sponsor money in exchange for a product or service. I just wish that, when an entire video, like this one, is an advertisement, some indication of that is made, such as in the title.
Don't forget with Time Machine as long as it's turned on it will do hourly snapshots to the internal drive as well for 24hrs. So if it's something recent you don't need an external backup, you can just look through the internal snapshots.
@@pixxelpusher i use time machine to a network Synology DS218 2 Bay NAS drive ... does the job lovely . plus you can access all your files on any computer from anywhere around the world and on mobile phone etc etc ..
@@yohodesign When setup to an external drive then yes, any drive connected to your MBP will be part of the Time Machine backup, as long as it hasn't been excluded in the Time Machine settings (any file or drive can be included / excluded). But for the internal snapshots that Mac OS does those only do the internal drive.
If you run a beta version make sure you activate a new time machine backup. If it overwrites the existing one and you would go back to a previous GA version of MacOS your Time Machine backup is useless. And remember, always have three backups (one locally, one on an external drive and one in the cloud). What a lot of people do not realize is that there is always meta data remaining that can be recovered unless the drive is overwritten with 0s 2 times. This software is using all these functions to recover the data blocks and it seems to do an excellent job of it. Could be your parachute... We've all been there.
Actually lost a whole external Kingston SSD 4 days ago. Got a backup, but not sure its complete. Stellar is currently running, lets see if it finds anything. Thx for this tool, right spot on in time for me.
well it did not work (yet). It ran for some time then the Mac went to sleep and after wakeup OSX rebooted. Now it is running for 11 hours, still on 0% but it runs, very very tiny steps on sector numbers. Preview found some files, but nothing to recover yet. Always have multiple backups
it scans until it encounters errors on the drive, you can stop the scan and then it will show the files to rescue. But you have to buy it then before actual restore. Seems fair. But due to the file corruption it showed only some files and with generic names. As a last resort, yes ! But luckily I had 2 backups, used one of them.
Only works on macOS. Despite Stellar claiming there is an iPhone/iPad version it is bizarrely only available for Windows! If you click on the iPhone version on their website it shows the windows download and clicking on the link 'version for Mac' it just takes you back to the macOs version which doesn't work for iPhones or iPads. All this just removes confidence in the company and I wouldn't risk using it on the Mac internal storage so only useful for an SD card as described in this video from Max Tech.
But how long after files are deleted does the app work? I know with SSDs they have garbage collection or similar stuff that writes over space on the disk after time or when the drive is being used alot.
Nice. Real game changer from some other Data Recovery solutions, especially if the price point for the software is reasonable as others are nearing 1500+ US Dollars to start.
So nice the site states price but only tiny at the end of purchase you see the word renewal < BUT NOT EVEN HERE you know if the price is per month, year.. DAY!? Sketchy AF, sorry.
Hi , i have a question. Do i get a 13inch macbook pro with m1 ipad pro or do i get a 14inch macbook pro? I am a student but i use my stuff pretty heavily.
You mean either the combo MBP13 M1 (or M2?) + iPad Pro M1 or only MBP14 M1 (and no iPad)? If so, that's a very very good question. It depends on so much. Good things with MBP14 + a bit larger display with Mini-LED and up to 120 Hz + more ports (HDMI and SD card slot) + magsafe + support for 2 external displays (M1 Pro) or 3 (M1 Max) + 16 GB RAM in the base model, you cannot go down to 8 GB + 512 GB SSD in the base model Good things with MBP13 M1/M2 + touch bar (for those who need it) + great battery life Here's how I think... if you go for MBP13 you can buy a new MBP in 2-4 years. But how important is the RAM? Is 8 GB RAM enough? Need 16? 16 GB RAM might be good for you with heavier load. So you got 2 options: go for MBP13 with 16 GB RAM instead (special order) or the base model MBP14 that already got 16 GB. I don't have a direct straight answer to this question. But maybe the best thing to do is to buy this cheaper MBP13 now and then save up money for a more expensive model in 2-4 years?
@@cjeelde thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my question , i have decided to go with mbp14. Because I don’t want to upgrade my mac for a while and I can do fine without an ipad.
@@itsnotemin didn't know how "much" you need iPad but now when I know that you can live without iPad then it's a perfect choice to go for MBP14! I think M1 Pro got fewer low-power cores and more high performance cores than the standard M1 and standard M2. M1 Pro also got more graphics cores. The only "problem" with buying MBP14/16 now is that M2 versions are coming "soon", probably in march 2023 because that 3nm process is not ready enough yet but will be that soon. But I believe that MBP14 M1 Pro will be a good power house for many years. I actually bought the "2500 dollar" MBP14 16/1000 and that model got 2 additional CPU cores compared to the base model (2000 dollar, 16/512). So there's different versions of the M1 Pro chip! M1 Max is even more powerful but my wallet doesn't like it because of the money ^^
Please do more tips about Macs. I know just about everything about Windows but I have little knowledge of Mac sowftware. Since OS updates are regular and things change, updated tips or tricks are appreciated. Thank you, love your videos and all the work the whole team puts in.
Lets see _real_ lost files recovery, not just a piece of crap undelete by returning the first character back to something valid. I've got an external Mac drive I'm trying to read with my PC. It's USB controller died during working, it's 3.5" disk, I've got it on my PC, and can see the drive, but there seems to be some corruption on the start/allocation/partition area. So lets see if you can do real data/file recovery, not just an overpriced undelete.
Too expensive for £100 . other brands out there which do the same job for much less .. it does make me wonder the purpose of this UA-cam this time it's really a sales pitch !!!
#20 I would be very pleased If I can win this giveaway it will help me so much in my startup. I NEVER EVER won any giveaway before so I will try best to win this and markup this # as I will comment on every possible mac video. see you in #21
Totally agree with you on that part. There is absolutely no shame in admitting that your computer skills are limited. If you don’t feel confident enough to use some of the more difficult methods described below, you can simply pick an easier one and retrieve deleted files on Mac just as reliably. Thanks for this eye-opening video "Max Tech" 🫡😃👍🏼

does it work if you formated your sd card instead of delete it? thx
Does this work with factory resets too?
What if u accidentally factory reset is there a chance to recover the files?😢

Will this work if data was encrypted with time machine and password is lost?

How do i recover my data on mac without payments of any kind
Too bad Stella Data Recovery is subscription based only, I would have bought it.
Click on the "1 year subscription" There is "Lifetime License" option there. Cost $50 more.
