OMG my heart.! I just came here for the 24th anniversary of The Bends and my heart its about to explode, I just cant believe so much time has passed and yet, they still are the best band, I love this song with all my heart, so powerful.
I need to keep re-visiting this - it's so good! Q magazine stated that when Radiohead were finding it hard to nail this track 'they took a break and went to see Jeff Buckley at London's Borderline. Returning to the studio inspired, Yorke sang the song twice and burst into tears'. Didn't do any harm!
Love The Bends, definitely their finest work, I love all of the albums, but Thom's songwriting has never been finer and Greenwood just knew how to make something beautiful out of a guitar, you've also got to love the pessimism of it, ending on a song which Thom Yorke once described as "most songs have some form of light as where street spirit has nothing, just death"
I hate when people put down a Radiohead album or compare them there all fantastic in their own ways and are all masterpieces, Radiohead are the best band ever :P genius.
This song reminds me of her, because she said to me that it reminds her of me. Now that she is with him, this is all I have of her....memories. Fake Plastic Trees reminds me of her now in only the best possible way. The best Live version I've heard on UT. Tks.
i discovered radiohead when in rainbows came out and was blown away, and now i own and love EVERY SINGLE album they've ever made, and i have quite a few of the 2-disc ones, everything they make is golden!
A cracked polystyrene man, who just crumbles and burns.. I picture a worn out old man crumpling up empty beer cans as he finishes them and chain smoking cigarettes
@IamTheScorchedEarth i got to respectfully disagree, kid a was their release into experimental music, making them far more than a rock band, into an innovative band. They are leading the way for many bands since then in my opinion.
This Song is basically about canary wharf... more specifically about the lives of the people who work there, i think. (Canary Wharf is an office block district in London, It's got loads of money going through)
@Snyltetast I guess not anymore, yeah I know, I was like... well, maybe they're gonna release it on new years or something, cuz they've already done that with scotch mist, but maybe It'll be this year!
I yell into a tomb, but I will say to my own echo. that listening to ok computer the first time was extremely disconcerting. there is nothing like it. It was written from another universe. And then to follow up with the masterpiece of Kid A, yet another out of body experience, they earned my respect, but they always made me feel a little pea in the mattress, and i suspect that is their goal. selah. good night, tomb!
Can anyone tell me when and where exactly was this concert held or if it's possible to get an even better audio quality of this performance in particular? This exact rendition of the song is my favourite and I would very much like to find the best possible quality available. Thanks in advance!
@IamTheScorchedEarth I can understand why people would not like Kid A more than any other record that Radiohead have done, however, it was undeniably more of a breakaway from the whole 'rock band' persona, which was fantastic in my opinion. I do respect your opinion, I just felt that I had to defend the record, just cuz it means a lot to myself and a lot of people :)
Thom really nailed those notes this time. True perfection.
This is genuinely one of the best sung and best sounding live versions of this song, if not the best one.
@@unclerogerANKI Glastonbury 2003 is much better for me.
OMG my heart.! I just came here for the 24th anniversary of The Bends and my heart its about to explode, I just cant believe so much time has passed and yet, they still are the best band, I love this song with all my heart, so powerful.
Thd DRAMA
I feel like the final verse in this version was just perfect. It was incredibly intense, and that along with the feeling in Thom's voice was spot on.
My thoughts exactly 😊 hope you’re well. 👍🏻😎
Radiohead is on a level all of there own. Amazing.
21 años y todavía suena y se siente tan bien como la primera vez.
Totalmente de acuerdo
claro que sí, es lo bueno de las grabaciones
this song brings tears to my eyes. literally when he says "if i could be who you wanted all the time"
I well up in the first verse.
melancholic
They usually are. At least is a bit less stalkerish than creep though or Karma police even.
I need to keep re-visiting this - it's so good! Q magazine stated that when Radiohead were finding it hard to nail this track 'they took a break and went to see Jeff Buckley at London's Borderline. Doctor: You have exactly 4:46 minutes to live.
Radiohead: Take my hand, son.
but your wifi sucks and it takes 30 seconds to load and then and add comes in so you loss other 5 seconds
🙏
If you listen enough, every Radiohead song is their best song.
Love The Bends, definitely their finest work, I love all of the albums, but Thom's songwriting has never been finer and Greenwood just knew how to make something beautiful out of a guitar, you've also got to love the pessimism of it, ending on a song which Thom Yorke once described as "most songs have some form of light as where street spirit has nothing, just death"
everything fake but my love...
All the time
This comment is heavy.
They really are the best band out there. Incredibly honest in everything they do.
I hate when people put down a Radiohead album or compare them there all fantastic in their own ways and are all masterpieces, Radiohead are the best band ever :P genius.

This song reminds me of her, because she said to me that it reminds her of me. Now that she is with him, this is all I have of her....memories. Fake Plastic Trees reminds me of her now in only the best possible way.

i'm in love with this radiohead. it's official.
The beauty of this song is only matched by the mastery of the band- especially Thoms vocals. He hits high notes that only angels are capable of.

Honestly, this version is better than 2003.
Better production for sure. But performance by Jonny in 2003 just takes about every live performance I've seen.
