it's an extremely depressing song but it has become my coping mechanism when i started to work in an exploitative company and was disillusioned by the reality of the wealth disparity.... which is exactly what caused the speaker (of the song) to want to kill himself, which is also exactly how i feel
This song makes me wanna drive on a dark road, all alone, driving all night long till the sun comes out. This is so beautifull. God. Thank you Thom for your sensibility. Thank J. Greenwood for such a huge talent you have! god bless Radiohead, and their real fans too!

Truly one of, if not THE BEST bands to hit the scene in the last 27 years (just googled it and they've been around since 1985 - Can you believe that?!?!) - Outstanding!
Damn, how is it possible for this almost 19 year old footage to be crystal-clear like this? I thought this was from like 2016 before I saw Thom’s hair and face. It looks uncannily like footage from a modern camera and sounds fantastic too; it also makes you realize we’re not so far away from 2003.
Como olvidarte amor mío si está Radiohead para evitarlo.... aunque en lo terrenal ya no estés,en mi corazón ,mente y vida nunca dejaras de hacerlo.. Te amo eterna y locamente...
I listened to this song everyday while i'm in England back in 2012. Up till this day, this song still remind me of my moments there. I'm from Malaysia btw.
Radiohead reminds me of when I was in Manhattan at my friend penthouse, he played them continuously. I stumbled upon them in the past year or so again and simply adore them for the memories and want fake plastic trees to be played at my funeral. Much love signed a poet.
You're mind has to be in a perticular perspective on things all around you in order for you to understand how great this song is. I know this, because in 10-20 years this band will grow old and will be looked at differently.
As I read the comments, I realized that thing song is universal. As all music is. The feeling it delivers is universal to how one feels at the current moment. You understand that there still is ‘hope’ & a brighter day ahead .. what makes a great song, is that that can make you feel that way no matter what year or lifetime you’re currently at. I know that someone with depression shouldn't be listening to a song about suicide, but I can't help it, this song actually makes me feel comfortable somehow.
A lot of my friends said they stopped listening to Radiohead because its to depressing, but I think its like being wrapped in a blanket on a cold day.
It's because they're being wrapped in the same blanket but on a warm day
Found the perfect explanation of Radiohead today..yes it's like a blanket which hides your emotions from the rest of the world
Radiohead is definitely sad sometimes, but I’ve never found them sad as much as comforting
too
In a blanket on Coldplay..😅
When you're a rock band and you just did an electronic album, you can get invited to play a jazz festival.
Sylvain Chuzeville well Radiohead have cited many jazz musicians as influences
That’s The Band!
Radiohead in a nutshell
Actually it's not a Jazz festival anymore, they kept just the name of it. Any artist/band can perform there.

Verily...
This may be the most beautiful song ever made , beautiful is too small a word to describe it. It always brings tears to my eyes
He has a really good live voice
you can tell that he gets emotionally into each performance as if its his first time

quality is fuckin rad for 2003
I love the fact that in this version, the glockenspiel level is much higher than the record and sounds beautiful.
*xylophone
Glockenspiel*
Nope I was wrong. Thought glockenspiel was American, turns out it's just a xylophone with metal notes.
That’s exactly why I listen to this version SO MUCH

Damn, those first few notes hit and the whole place blows up. Beautiful.
Listening to this song is like being on the bottom of the sea and looking up.
it takes balls to write something so light like this, no one really even did something like this in the late 90's.
Such a simple song (as a composition)...but so damn effective. Even those little counter notes at the end. A good live version, too
The proper song to die with (preferably in a car, slowly intoxicated by carbon monoxyde)
