I work in the industry and more often than not they don’t tell people they are related to someone famous or are the son or daughter of a famous parent or parents. Mostly you will find the need to show they are independent and want to be recognised for their own talent .
Doors might be opened for them but once they step through they’ve got to be good .
Yup. If the parent has any clout, they may get their child a part here and there (like Jeff and Beau Bridges getting bit parts in Sea Hunt with their dad) and that can be a healthy way for a show business child to decide if some form of show business is what they want to do. Ultimately they need to get their own parts. It CAN go horribly wrong, like Sofia Coppola in Godfather 3. She had the talent and drive to overcome that bad move and carve out her own career.
