Who's your favorite actor-turned-singer on our list?
I'm missing my fav on your list: Eddie Murphy. He was even told not to try singing when he brought out 'Party All The Time' as it would ruin his acting career.
Also I am saddened that Christopher Lee isn't on here and Jeff Bridges only gets a mention.
@@ExcandaYes! He’s got a great voice always has
Patrick 😢 I miss him. RIP Mr. Swayze. ❤
You kind of left out Dick Van Dyke.
You missed Johnny Depp. He sang in Into The Woods and Sweeny Todd Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He also released an album with Jeff Beck and has sung on some songs with his band Hollywood Vampires. Go listen to Ooh Baby Baby and Heroes.
I'm glad to see Jensen Ackles getting some love. The man is not only handsome, but talented as well. Great actor and a talented singer.
Love him ❤️ 💕
Yeah I was gonna say if Jensen Ackles ain't on this list then just, uh uh. That man is legendary ❤️
They forgot to mention him singing in The Boys.
I only came here to see if he was in the vid and im glad to know he is
It's ironic that Anne Hathaway is so controversial in some circles, essentially because she's so ridiculously talented Les mis is the perfect example
I feel like this is also the Taylor Swift effect too... People get irritated that she's everywhere, that she gets all the awards, that's shes got a feral loyal huge fan base... But ask yourself why?!?! Hard work, artistry, huge talent.... Envy is not a good look 🤣🤌 hahaha x
She definitely had a point where she had built a wholesome reputation as a family actress and then she went on a very raunchy string of movies that shocked her fans. So of course that brought a bunch of controversy.
Those of us in the UK who knew Hugh Laurie as a comedian before he was in House had heard him sing many times before. He was in a comedy duo with Stephen Fry and they often sang in scetches to great effect :)
He sings, plays instruments, and can speak like an American. Also incredibly funny, so multitalented.
Mystery.... I mean his song. Lol
@alisongreen7447 His dad was our family doctor when I was growing up. He was also an Olympic gold medalist in rowing, I remember he had a photo on his wall of his room of the rowing team.
They're comedic bits are for people that enjoy that wonderful out of the box humor. My hushand and I think those two are using a kind of humor not everyone would understand.
We have also enjoyed Stephen Frye as a moderator for QI reruns. Hugh Laurie is immensely musically talented. If you will check Google, Hugh has shown accountability with in the Royal Family.
Use to watch Fry and Laurie, all the time.
Emily Blunt is one of the best triple threats in the movie business to date. She’s been in quite a few movies where she sings. How she’s not on this list is tragic! She was Mary Poppins for Christ sake. Also let’s not forget about Hannah Waddington, who is another triple threat that’s an absolute gem with an amazing voice!
I didn't know there was another Mary Poppins besides the great Julie Andrews. THAT was an amazing story, her life and how it all came into being.
Ewan McGregor has a beautiful voice and I love hearing him sing in Moulin Rouge!
I don't really like musicals but he made me love Moulin Rouge
@@WendifurTTV me too. I only watched it because of him🙂
Ewan was so good in The Ghost Writer..............
how is he only #21... psh
So, not only Obi-Wan Kenobi is a great Jedi. He is also a talented singer
I saw Hugh Laurie with his band on Austin City Limits years ago. He did hella great covers of St. James Infirmary and Unchain My Heart. I've been a fan of his music ever since.
He’s a great piano player as well as a singer.
I always have a few songs from his albums on my main playlist that never come off.
Man, I never thought Sing movie would help Reese, Taron and Scarlet bring out there singing chops.
Speaking of Taron Edgerton, The young Elton John who sang the first part of Saturday Nights Alright was Heartstoppers Kit Conner.
I actually have Taron's version in my playlist over Elton's...look up EJ's background for reasons why.
Also, between Rocketman and Sing, he also sang "I'm still Standing" in both movies.
Sing is the reason he got the role for rocketman
@@AnnoLP That's understandable, Taron's a really good singer.
Yes I was waiting for Tom Hiddleston!!! He is so talented. He is a triple threat ! He is an amazing actor, singer and dancer. He is more than a triple threat !! He can play several instruments and is multilingual!!! And a total sweetheart!! That is more than a triple threat!!❤❤❤❤
Absolutely! Tom Hiddleston's versatility knows no bounds. From his captivating performances on screen to his musical talents and linguistic abilities, he truly is a force to be reckoned with. It's no wonder he has such a dedicated fanbase-he's the epitome of a multi-talented and charismatic star!
don't forget his Imitations of his colleagues
one of the weirdest and yet, fascinating movies, "last lovers left alive" (maybe I was sick, not sure) with Tom Hiddleston and Tilda..............scary weird and yet, I watched the whole movie.
My son is a huge Star Wars fan... And when he put Come What May, in his wedding vows, I mentioned Moulin Rouge... And he said, " Mom!! ObiWan SANG THIS SONG!!" 😅
Bruce Willis, Jennifer Laurence, Don Johnson, Mila Jovovich, Kevin Bacon & Sissy Spacek
and Richard Gere in Chicago
Sissy definitely should be on here. She did Coal Miner's Daughter and did such a great job!
Yes
Lots of love rt now for Bruce Willis, Linda Rondstadt and Céline Dion. Nobody should lose their voice, it's your essence.
What about Ryan Gosling!
Met Val Kilmer at a convention a few years ago. I was wearing a "Duck-Duck-Goose" t-shirt, with the Goose being "Goose" from Top Gun. He smiled and hugged me and my sis and we got the most beautiful picture out of it. Loved him in Top Secret and The Doors so much.
I love Val Kilmer. I envy you.
My favorite Val Kilmer movie is Top Secret.
I loved him in the Saint.
ah sweet. he was so handsome in Tombstone...........
I worked with Val Kilmer when he played Jim Morrison in The Doors movie. He was a good actor and singer. And very handsome and charismatic.. And positive energy going to him to heal and recover from cancer and other health problems.
How about Antonio Banderas.. he was in Evita and a duet with Sarah Brightman in 'The Phantom of The Opera' from The Royal Albert Hall Celebration he also sang a duet with Barbara Streisand Take Me to the World
The ones that amazed me the most in modern times were the cast of "Sweeney Todd." They all did their own singing and none were experienced singers.. A special shout-out to Mr. Rickman.
I absolutely love that movie!
I loved that movie but most of the singing was mid. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great.
Eddie Redmayne is amazing. His rendition of “Empty Chairs At Empty Tables” is absolutely haunting.
Jeremy Renner is an awesome singer knocked my socks off the first time I heard him sing ❤❤❤❤🔥
Agreed, I love him so much ❤❤❤❤
So glad that Jeremy Renner was #1 on this list. I love his voice!
He's number 1!? Didn't expect that
RDJ melted my heart when I heard him singing in Ally McBeal!!!
I've never been so angry at drugs other than the time they immediately axed him from the show for his addiction. He was the best thing in that show!
I totally agree! I wasn't able to watch the series after he left 💔 I'm so glad he was able to make such an amazing come back
THANK YOU FOR PUTTING JEREMY IN THE NUMBER 1 SPOT!!!!!!!!! He has been so underrated for so long
You feature most of the Les Mis cast, yet forgot Huge Jackman? Unforgivable. Lol
Because Hugh Jackman was famous on London’s West End before he was a film star.
@@thedeepfriar745 Hell he was famous on Broadway before being widely known in film. Not to mention, he hosted the Tony's four times.
He was well known on Broadway long before films
Neil Patrick Harris singing Dream On in Glee ❤
Kristin Bell has done well singing.
She studied opera at The Sorbonne!😉
She voiced Anna in Frozen, people already know she can sing
Where was the cast of Greatest showman?! Hugh Jackman and Zach Efron are amazing!!! Speaking of Hugh, how can you talk about Nicole Kidman and not mention her duet with Hugh in Happy Feet?!?!?!
Also a hidden gem Jamie Campbell Bower!!!
BUT all is forgiven because you put the BEST at #1!!! I became a fan of Jeremy Renner because of you guys and I haven't stooped yet.
Efron was well established as a singer during his disney days, so it's not surprising.
Hugh Jackman, however lol
I mean Zach Efron’s breakout role was a musical, everyone knew he could sing. And Hugh Jackman has a longer history in musical theater than film.
@@Quarktehduck Zac Efron didn't sing his own songs in HSM. Way back, I saw an interview where it was said he couldn't sing at all. So I'm not sure he actually sang in The Greatest Showman
@supermyrea1 he didn't sing in HSM 1 because the producers didn't think he could sing. Then he did Hairspray, proving he was able to, and the following HSM films are actually him singing. It's definitely him in Greatest Showman, his singing voice sounds too much like his actual voice for it to be anyone else :)
And Zendaya!!
Anna Kendrick
Rebel Wilson
Anna Camp
Brittany Snow
Elizabeth Banks
How on EARTH is Bruce Willis not on this list?! 👎🏼
Just because Bradley Cooper took voice lessons doesn't mean he couldn't sing before that. People take voice lessons to improve their technique, and it doesn't mean you are not as talented if you get some coaching! I'm sure all of these actors have had vocal coaching at some point.
All of them for sure have taken voice lessons.
Cooper was in bands in College etc😌😌🙏🏻🇬🇧
Yea, don’t think there’s ever been someone playing guitar for 6 months and then playing nice clean(even that simple like shallow) acoustic fingerpicking..
Voice is definitely usually ya have it or don’t, I HATE my voice playing back and I hear every tiny and big break and flat and sharp but If I keep practicing AND take some lessons maybe I could pull off some decent harmonies and Stuff worth a banner.. Bradley definitely was playing for years and singing with good natural talent already for sure 👍🙏🏻
You can take all the voice lessons in the world and still be a mediocre singer if you don't have natural talent. Some people have it, most people don't.
@@ValentinaTepedinoI've never taken them. I fronted several bands, I've been in a couple of musicals. Natural talent is far more important than voice lessons. You can't make someone a singer if they have zero talent.
Antonio Banderas
Bruce Willis
Jimmy Nail
Ian McShane
Or am I just showing my age? 😂❤ x
Antonio Banderas is also a great dancer
Watch the other videos from Ms Mojo , Antonio even sings The phantom of the Opera..
Missing from the list-Sissy Spacek and Amy Adams
Sissy did all her own singing in Coal Miner’s Daughter. Leaving her off this list is a huge oversight
Anthony Head, Giles from Buffy, also a singer and I got one of his albums.
His brother is Murray who sang Judas on the concept album Jesus Christ Superstar
@@tomheinle1049 Murray also charted with "One Night in Bangkok" from the musical Chess. Tony Head was Frank N. Furter in Rocky Horror among other stage roles.
"I'm the niiiiiiight surgeon!!!!". If you haven't seen him in Repo: A Genetic Opera, you should do so!
He came from musical, so he's not literally an actor turned singer. But he's fantastic with both, plus a wonderful human.
So is James Marsters!
I wanted to see Christian Kane on this list but then I saw him with Jensen Ackles and I was like, "I'LL TAKE IT!!!"
I love Christian’s voice!
He is so talented! I'm surprised he didn't get his own spot on the list
He has one of the most unique voices out there! He shoulda been on the list in his own right!
@@wildishwolf I'd like to say I'm surprised, but he gets left off a lot of lists. Like the list of injuries in film and TV. 2 prominent scars, one from Secondhand Lions and one from Leverage.
Kate Winslet sang in Sense and Sensibility in 1995 but it may not have been seen by a lot of people.
we also heard her sing briefly in Titanic.
Crazily enough, I bought Radio Company's album after falling for "The Sound of Someday" from that episode of Supernatural. Didn't have a CLUE it was Jensen Ackles on vocals until months later.
Who does still call Collin Ferrell bad boy, these days? That is soo outdated. He is one of few who came out of the bad boy days as a mature adult and got his career on track so that we can all continue to enjoy this talented and intelligent actor’s performance in many, many movies. ❤
In 1940, 95% of actors were triple threats, could sing, dance and act. Why did we get away from this?
I think because there was an era when movies were adapted from Broadway shows, especially musicals. Now it's the other way around. 😕
Where are your receipts?
@@Igoligirl2 Huh? Are you lost?
You are watching a video about triple threat actors ( only 30 mentioned here) and you say we have moved away from that era😂😂😂😂😂
I'd say the statistic is still as high, maybe even higher.
@@hannahvahala5078 I would love to see the following actors tap dance, do the cha cha and waltz:
Jack Nicholson, Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Daniel Day Lewis, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Anthony Hopkins, Denzel Washington, Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Russell Crowe, Tommy Lee Jones, Jason Patrick, Joe Pesci, Johnny Depp, Joaquin Phoenix, Matthew McConaughey, Christian Bale, Matthew Broderick, Jim Carrey, Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Will Smith, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Zooey Deschanel, Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Kristen Stewart, Kate Beckinsale, Liv Tyler, Charisma Carpenter, Kristanna Loken, Kirsten Dunst, Molly Ringwald, Eva Mendes, Winona Ryder and Rachel Weisz.
Jensen Ackles's cover of Simple Man is so amazing. Even as a Winchester, his voice is awesome.
Alot of these Actors and Actresses started out in musical theater. Only a few if them blow me away.
Renee Zellweger sang in the 1995 cult classic Empire Records. Also, Ewan McGregor sang in the 1997 A Life Less Ordinary. Both were really good at singing then
Came looking for someone to mention A Life Less Ordinary. It's the first time I heard him sing.
Sugar High! She was so cute in that film.
Gerard Butler also sang The Pogues "Love You Till the End" in PS I Love You.
I love empire records
I think the point of the list is actors who are SURPRISINGLY good singers. We know Hugh Jackman, for example, is a great actor and singer. The people on this list aren’t as obvious because maybe they sing in animated movies or shows. Many on this list have also released singles or albums that may not be widely recognized by general fans, unless it’s an actor you consistently follow.
Kate sang in sense and sensibility at 19 years old the fact that this wasn't mentioned is a shock
Agreed! She was AMAZING.
I know!!!!!!
Kate Winslet should have had a 30-year music career. She has a beautiful singing voice.
Forgot Mel Gibson & KelseyGrammar. I ran into Gerard Butler at an airport & asked him if he planned to sing again in a movie. He laughed & said, “no way!”
I'm not surprised the video left him out, but I can't believe not a single person in the comments mentioned John C Reilly. He sang in both Dewey Cox and Chicago. He's got a very smooth, soothing voice.
How about Jack Black who has his own band and absolutely nails Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get it On in High Fidelity? Or Gwyneth Paltrow who did the Cruisin remake with Huey Lewis which made it to #1 on the Adult Contemporary Chart? Or Kristen Bell, who is a better singer than most on this list? Ever hear of a little movie called Frozen? Or Emma Watson who did her own singing in the live remake of Beauty and the Beast? I think these 4 I’ve named are better singers than many on your list.
Jack is a musician who's also acting in the first place, and I'm always puzzled when people are surprised about his amazing pipes.
Top 20 More Actors Who Are Surprisingly Good Singers sounds like a better idea. You didn't mention John C Reilly, Meryl Streep, Jackie Chan, Kevin Spacey, Ricky Gervais, Ryan Gosling, Keira Knightley and many others.
This is at least the 4th or 5th list they have done around this subject. I am pretty sure every one of those you mentioned, except Gervais, has been mentioned in at least one of them.
I loved Grease 2. Wish it got more love.
Yeah!!! And there's Benedict Cumberbatch too!!!
❤❤❤
I'm always amazed at the ones Like Hugh Lorie. He was such a great actor in 'House' that someone who didnt know beforehand could've argued that he wasn't British and that he wasn't truly a man needing a cane to walk much less dance the way he does.
Missing in the list Johnny Deep, Kate Hudson, Hugh Jackman, Ramy Malek!
Hugh Jackman not being on the list is fitting, he has a widely known musical theater background.
Ewan, Zach, Tom, Oscar and Robert WOW!!!! they are INCREDIBLE!!!!! I love all their chances to sing especially Ewan he was amazing in Moulin Rouge and then again in Down with Love with Renee - he actually suggested an end musical number to the director which is just incredible!! and Zach's performance at the oscars of I see the light is one of my favourite performances ever!
Renee sang Sugar High in Empire Records. So good.
"Damn the man - save the Empire!" I didn't love her vocals on Sugar High but boy oh boy she really killed as Roxi Hart lo those many years later!
I was looking for this comment!! It wasn't even mentioned!
Hugh Laurie is an accomplished novelist too!
Did you read Stephen Fry's book too? It is...something.
Hugh Laurie is freaking talented ❤❤❤
One of the funniest I’ve ever read! ❤
It's funny to me when you have actors like Hugh Laurie who is English, and Colin Farrell who is Irish, you hear them speak in their normal speaking British and Irish speaking voices, but then when they sing they can sound so....."American"....bluesy and country.
Jeremy Renner's voice is so soulful and piercing. 😱
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Katey Sagal, Minnie Driver and the very latest, Kate Hudson. Kate just released her first album May 2024. Heard her sing Til Tuesday Voices Carry on Howard Stern and she blew me away.
Val Kilmer was PHENOMENAL as Jim. It was like Jim possessed him!
Val Kilmer was one of my 1980s movie star crushes, right behind Patrick Swayze. Oh, Patrick's looks, dance moves, and singing ability with "She's Like the Wind". ❤
No one mentioned Christian Bale yet, surprisingly.
Are we talking about something more recent than "Newsies"? Because as much as I love that movie (and him in it) his vocals were....fine? But he was so young and it was so long ago! So maybe he's honed that part of his craft in the years since. 😄
That was awesome!!! Thank you🎉🎉🎉
Bradley Cooper sounds like Bruce Springsteen which is a compliment.
I did *NOT* know O'Hara was the voice in Sally's Song! I've had a crush on her since Beetlejuice ❤ and hearing RDJ sing Joni Mitchell makes me love him more
Music runs in the O’Hara family. Her sister is Mary Margaret O’Hara. Her one and only album (now near 35 years old) is a masterpiece. It’s called Miss America. It’s on Spotify and there are some videos of her performing on UA-cam.
That was great. Thanks 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌹
Can we just talk about Tom Cruise in Rock Of Ages???? I mean I'm not even a Tom Cruise fan and that just blew my mind. I was shook 😅
Oh gosh that scene in Ella Enchanted cracks me up! It’s such a hoot.
Emilia Clarke has a beautiful singing voice!
Emmy Rossum, Jennifer Love Hewitt , Mila Jovovich…
Actually, I was highly impressed by Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham-Carter in Sweeny Todd - additionally to what I saw here.
I would’ve added a few honorable mentions as well, putting Gary Oldman among them - have you ever heard him on the Quest for Camelot? He only sings that one song, but he absolutely kicks a*s.
Jensen Ackles is amazing! Great voice and so handsome! And he can dance too.
Loved RDJ IN THE 80S...Fell in love w/ him all over again singing on Ally Mcbeal ❤❤❤
Minnie Driver is an accomplished singer-songwriter. Saw her in concert.
Minnie's music is really good.
@@electrictwilightI agree!
Why on hell Patrick Wilson is not on that list ?? 🤨 Probably the best voice of that list ! He begun has a Broadway actor. Butler is there... but Patrick play Raoul in Phantom and he's the best thing of that movie ! He also sing on Barbara Streisand album, it's the best duo of the album. I can believed how underrated he is, and he's a gifted man (good actor, amazing singer, dancer, drum, guitar, piano... sports, he does a lot of his own stunts). Easy to find a LOT of stuff on youtube with him singing ! ☺
Patrick Wilson is definitely underrated. He recently sang the covered song "Stay" with Ghost for Insidious: The Red Door.
Anybody else miss Andrew Garfield on this list? I think he definitely deserves to be here too
I usually just LIKE and SUBSCRIBE 👍 but this is so great and I love it, love it, love it.... I shared it many times. THANK YOU❤❤❤
I was going to be TOTALLY upset if you hadn’t had Jensen Ackles in this.
Antonio Banderas is a delightful singer, and Jack Black is mightily accomplished
Hugh Jackman seems like a glaring omission from this list. Another would be Gwyneth Paltrow. She did a fantastic job singing alongside Huey Lewis in “Duets” covering the Smokey Robinson classic, “Cruisin.”
Very interesting, thank you.
One small correction: Seth MacFarlane is NOT a "Rhode Island native". He attended the Rhode Island School of Design, but he was born and grew up in Connecticut.
what about Andrew Garfield, Tom Cruise in rock of ages, Bruce Willis, Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Austin Butler, Timothee Chalamet, Jackie Chan, Patrick Wilson...????
Jamie Fox
Phoenix doing Johnny Cash is my favourite by far.
Years back I saw a concert of the band called The Band From TV. It was pretty much the cast of House MD and Heroes.
So much fun!
I'm surprised Matthew Broderick isn’t on here, he was iconic in The Producers!
no Chris Evans?...
no Hugh Jackman?..
no Cynthia Erivo?..
no Jonathan Bailey?..
no Amy Adams?..
no Ryan Gosling?..
no Tom Cruise?..
no Michelle Williams?..
no Gwyneth Paltrow?..
no Josh Gad?..
no James Marsden?...
no Ansel Elgort?..
no Luke Evans?..
no Andrew Garfield?...
no Anna Kendrick?..
no Kristen Bell?..
no Eddie Murphy?..
no Johnny Depp?..
no Kate Hudson?..
no Vanessa Hudgens?..
no Austin Butler?...
no Zac Efron?..
no Queen Latifah?...
no Jack Black?..
no Ryan Reynolds?..
no Anika Noni Rose?..
Hugh Jackman, Andrew Garfield, Jack Black and tOM cRUISE ARE my favourites.
Gary Sinise & Kevin Bacon should've been on this list.
Wait, Chris Evans can sing?
a lot of them are not "surprising"
Yeah how come there was no Johnny Depp. He can sing! I love his voice.
Many people who watched him on L&O SVU as DA Barba have no idea that Raul Esparza has a phenomenal voice and has done Broadway musicals. I didn't, until I found out from another Ms. Mojo ep.
Good if you to remind folks:) Esparza is incredibly talented.
Gerald Butler was amazing in P.S. I Love You. He upstages Harry Connick JR in my opinion in this movie.
I knew about Johansson…I’m a fan of Pete Yorn’s music and she sings with him on one of his albums.
I love listening to Robert Downey Jr. sing! It makes my day!
Did a record with Sting
It's pretty amazing that I first watch him in senior trip its really amazing how actors and actresses they have a amazing talent
The entire cast of "All Across the Universe.
Christian Kane from Leverage and The Librarians has singing chops, too.
He shows up in the Jensen Ackles bit but isn’t named. :/
I don’t know how Seth MacFarlane grew that nearly perfect baritone. Did he make a deal with Devil? 😉😎 I was gobsmacked watching him sing during BBC Proms.
You might want to consider adding Jeff Daniels to the next list :)
Anyway, a nice - and at least sometimes - surprising collection!
watch the video from 2014,2017,2020,2021,2022,2023... in one of them i think is Jeff , Top 10 or 20...
These lot have a voice;
Tyrese Gibson
Jack black
Jared leto
Mark hamill
Kate Hudson
Kelsey grammer
Kate Winslet should be making albums!
Love Chicago . One of my fave movies
What about Katey Segal and Stephen Moyer??
Definitely Robert Downey JR. Happy wednesday morning, Rebecca..take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Happy to see that MacFarlane made the list!! 😊
His voice! Wow ❤
I was already poised to blast you if you had missed RDJ. His duet with Vonda Shepherd for the Aly McBeal soundtrack is one of my absolute favorite songs.
I had seen almost all the movies and singing actors & actresses here… lucky because I love to watching movies 🎥
