@@sammykalintosh5630 When you are selling the best system in the category, it's doesn't really matter. Specially when it achieved a 100% successful rate of interception and destruction of the targets in Ukraine.
French military equipments and systems are very high quality and reliability. So the ratio of cost effectiveness is just great, since it works amazingly well.
Without to forgot, Thales is a world reference in radars.
Meanwhile Gaijin thinks this is one of the worst SAM avialable, and any video sources are rejected because "those could be edited"...ye, you know, Soviet documents are trustworthy since nobody can check them...
Same story for the Roland.

The French Navy were replacing the Crotale System on their La Fayette Frigates with MBDA Sadral. Something about problems with Crotale against sea Skimmers
It's not really suitable for protecting Frigates. The La fayette class are pretty patrol ships but certainly not fit for any kind of naval conflict.
The other reason about their replacement is also because the Crotale system installed on the La Fayette ships was an old version, the same happened to the exocet anti-ship missiles, their life cycle ended but they weren't replaced
Its just because Crotale is an old system and SADRAL (SATCP Mistral for Navy) is younger
But Crotale NG is more expensive and accurate.

Using a Crotale SAM to take down an octacopter (drone) is the proverbial "A sledgehammer to crack a nut"!! Better use the AAA pictured before e.g. Rheinmetal Oerlikon GDF/KBA etc. fragmenting ammunition would take down a swarm of drones for 1% of the cost of a SAM!

IRIS-T is a short range missile, only good for 25km. The old MICA missiles already got a superior range. So you can forget the comparison with the new MICA NG which is capable of 80 to 100 km range.

@@areuok75 dude, those systems are developed by Thales, they build top-notch defense products bought all over the world. the compagny's most compact modern radar has a range of 80 km and can detect tiny civilians drones. And that's the smallest one, check what a Ground Master 400 can do and you'll understand the difference between fighting a country with 3 modern AA systems plus the rest of old soviet stuff and a country like France

I don't agree with anyone saying western military equipment are better than the rest. And I don't agree with anyone saying the opposite either.( these two are the most common argument on UA-cam )
I believe every system is built for very specific requirements. And I don't think any 2 military systems are comparable. Because there's always something (no matter how small) different about the requirements for which something was built.
This is what I believe about military equipment. It's what I believe about everything else that we use every day too.

Latest upgrades are made to destroy drones so your statement is false. The only advantage and reason the TB2 was so successful is that Armenia did not anticipate use of drones and that the armenian equipment was not adapted for that. The crotale NG however will make short work of the TB2 just like any current drones as the french army is preparing to fight against drones in the future.

@@emre3660 Armenians had no airforce and only a few modern AA systems that were destroyed early by Israelian Harop suicide drones. The remaining AA systems being old soviet stuff, they couldn't see the drones very well and couldn't counter them efficiently.
The Crotale NG however would be equiped with a THALES systems : their smallest radars can detect tiny civilian drones at 80 km so they would see the TB2 without problem and destroy it before it could threat the allied forces.
And if a country like France was involved against Azerbaïdjan, they would bring a bunch of Ground Master 400 radars with 500km range. Oh wait, the slow drones like the TB2, anka, or Akinci couldn't even fly as the Rafales would chase them and destroy them instantly. France would organize a "flying circus" with MRTT and A400M air tankers and ban enemy aircraft/drones of the sky
