actually guys the RBS 70 NG is the best than starstreak as of right now. Stinger comes in 3rd. I'm not doubting that the piorun may now be the best I guess we shall see. Regardless what they use as long as they're killing orcs that's all that matters.
The Polish Piorun MANPADS outperforms most of the MANPADS in this video.
Less range and shorter ceiling than the Rbs70. How is it better?
@@cazcade77 In using. One man can transport, shot without any tripod, run out from position and hide very quckly. Piorun is easy for use for anyone, light (about 16 kg vs. SAAB 87 kg ),and i'm sure is cheaper Rbs70. Any manpads are good on paper, but range or combat charge speed is not the most important in battlefield. Piorun has lots confirm successful hits in Ukraine.

Also range and speed are important.
But still some are better for some situation and others for others situation, you can't have a perfect all round missile.
I hope that the reason why there is no "Piorun" in the ranking is its declassification of the systems presented in the film?
The RBS 70NG system being able to fire a missile with the specs of the pantsir 57E6 Missile would change the battlefield. Would require a squad to carry it, but a few hidden here and there would close the airspace to anyone.
Where is Piorun, maybe ask Ukrainian soldiers first before you make such a ranking, they use it in real war
Polish constructors of Piorun said that Piorun is probably the best manpads in its class in the world, which offended the Russians at one time. USA is buying Piorun bolts because they are currently the best and no ranking will change that. If a Pole claims that he is the best, he does not say it without a reason

I’m not a fan of Russian and American technology, but the Stinger has proven itself in combat use in many places, even in Ukraine and Afghanistan. Your Piorun in Ukraine did not show any better results, all targets were mainly shot down by the stinger 😆
Upd: the stinger was also the reason why the Soviet Union lost the war in Afghanistan.

All these systems can be misled by flares launched from the plane. PIORUN strikes exactly on the target.

IR does not mean that flare are always effective... Modern systems are bit more intelligent.

You are saying so because of nationalism but how is it better then Verba the only manpads with 3 channel s two IR and one UV wich makes it more powerful against decoys some stinger s have a Ir channel and one UV and you? Grom M is good but doesent belong on. This list its a modernized Igla.
No.1 is PPZR Piorun made by Poland. It's a better version of Verba.

So let s start with the 3 first presented "MANPADS". How do you want transport this missile with one soldier or even 2, it s 50kg (at less), it s a lot. They are heavy and don't have parameters that good to justified their weight.
I m very curious where did you find the information that the Stinger have a range of 8km. Spoiler it has max 5km.
I just ask: where is Piorun? I mean it s just the best in his category.
This video clearly forget the Piorun, which is very modern, the lightest of its category and better on paper than the Verba and the Stinger systems.
But saying it's THE best isn't that factual considering the range, the speed and the verified very high reliability/accuracy of the 3 first systems of the list.

but you know that "Piorun" is in Ukraine? but you know that the most popular movie where a Russian helicopter was shot down in the field was just hit by a "Piorun"? why do we know that this is what he was hit with? and the ceiling for possible hits is from 7m, while others have a ceiling from 30m ;P And of course, the defense ministers and soldiers are delighted with the effectiveness of these weapons not on paper but on the battlefields ^^

The same with TOW systems or heavy machineguns. You go in a team.
The RPS 70 NG comes in 3 parts. The missile, sight and stand. They all weigh about pretty much the same, about 30kg. Si it’s not really that much for one soldier. And usually one fire squad has about 5-6 soldiers.
Using ATV’s or similar off road vehicles u can easily transport the whole weapon to it’s fire position. So your point really doesn’t make sense.

Gotta love the Stinger. It's size makes it the best of the bunch for me. Nothing really to set up, just point and shoot. I am surprised to see the channel owner put anything Russian on a video named "top" since most their equipment has been doing terrible in Ukraine.
The only issues I have with modern short range air missiles is this whole thing with a stand coming into play. Nlaw or javelin don’t come with a stand there is a reason for this. Same for short range air missiles they should be incorporated into companies like javelin or nlaw anti tank type missiles. Anti air missiles for short range should be as portable as nlaws or javelin missiles. You wouldn’t need multiple missiles on one system as going to be working in multiple pairs but some of this comes to military doctrine. I think the whole stand thing and now having to have time to step up with stand and attaching multiple missiles ready to be fired as western military on the ground not really had an issue with air defence for s while. Last time was falklands where ground forces got pasted by energy aircraft fortunately sas were equipped with stinger missiles and took care of the problem when came up. So goes back to my argument of having a short range anti missile system that is portable enough to be deployed at short notice without huge amounts of setting up. Be that said I’m sure the newer system to stinger are probably better both detection and missile itself I know the stinger works on infra red heat signatures. From what seen of Ukraine footage it helps having a portable air missile for short range where not much time to step up with stand and all of that
That depends on guidance mostly.
You need a stand to effectively use laser guided missiles, since your shoulder is not a very stable platform. On the other hand laser guided missiles offer better performance (range and speed mostly) and cheaper price than heat-seeking missiles. Usually they are longer range because you don't need to take up much space inside missile with guidance kit. Therefore such missiles are much better at being mounted on vechicles than being manpads. IR seekers don't need to maintain line of sight between target and launcher after launch, they have fire&forget capability that laser guided missiles lack. Well if you put in on HMMV or something similar in stabilised "turret" this is not a problem. But line of sight can be an issue in relatively dense foliage.
The big missing one from this list is Piorun, which is basically comparable with Russian Verba. Main difference is that Piorun does not use multi-spectrum guidance like Verba, but instead more advanced IR sensor and all digital firing system. That last thing is generally the most important - as missile itself can be programmed to certain extend before launch, to adjust to different target profiles. Piorun also carries quite a powerful compact 1.8 kg warhead filled with hexogen&alluminium powder, quite powerful for this class of missile at least...
definitely most powerful for it's size, missiles like stinger have 3kg warheads of more conventional explosives, would be interesting to see comparison in explosive power between the two.

What was the demonstrative combat use of Piorun? Stingers have hit even more targets in Ukraine at the moment, not to mention the fact that they helped the United States win the war in Afghanistan. So if you laugh, it’s better to show yourself at least what your “piorun” showed at least in battle. Don’t crying lol…😊
