I've been trotting around with the Peak Design 45L that I sneakily got shipped from the US. Shout out to my buddy who helped with shipping it to India! Now, the PD 45L is a work of art - sturdy, very well organized, and pure eye candy + goes well with the Peak design eco system. But, here's a funny story: when it arrived, my dad (being the first to inspect it) just went, "It's a bit on the heavy side for just a bag, isn't it?" I with the excitement didn't notice it and , of course, conveniently forgot to mention the price tag to him, can you blame me? Now, real talk - weighing in at 4.4 lbs i.e 2,05 KGs It's a tad heavy for being empty, With airline weight limits, I'm juggling my essentials to fit within a tight 5-6 kgs and it’s not the most comfortable bag for it’s price tag personally in my opinion I'm now setting my sights on the Farpoint, tipping the scales at a mere 3.4 lbs/1.5 Kgs. That's a bonus 500 grams for me! It might not boast all the fancy features of the PD, but it's designed with travel comfort in mind. For those of us hauling our lives on our shoulders, why not be a cozy, comfortable donkey instead of just a donkey, right? 😂🐴
What a story! Yes I’ve seen the PD bags online. They look fantastic. I was tempted, until I saw the price tag. 🥵 I’m surprised to hear that there they’re not more comfortable. Osprey sort of meets you in the middle with price and design. I’m loving it so far for camping trips. The big test will come soon when I take it to Asia. I’ll definitely share my experience. Thank you for watching. And if you decide to get a Farpoint, let us know your thoughts. Happy travels!
@@luciansteph when are you hitting Asia? pls do share your experience, i recently went to Goa and i may have over loaded it but wasn't the most comfortable trip with PD
Hey! Thank you so much for this video, it helped a lot! Do you know if this is the fairview trek 40L or travel 40L? i’m assuming it’s the travel but always good to check! thank you!
I'm sure it is a great pack, but at 22 inches tall it's nominally too large for carry-on with Air Canada. I would put your essentials in your Daylite in case you are forced to check the Fairview.
I actually traveled to South Korea and back on air Canada and it was just fine in carry on. Will it be the same for all flights 🤷🏽♀️ i give my final thoughts in a follow up video ua-cam.com/video/UA-etheDz2k/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
@@luciansteph Good to know! I guess most airlines are quite forgiving on carry-on size; except, inexplicably, Icelandair. I've been forced to check bags I didn't plan to, so I feel burned by this issue.
@@nickcrispe1321 ouch! Yeah sounds like they’re pretty strict. I also travelled by air twice in South Korea (other than air canada) and didn’t have any trouble. But that’s good to know about Iceland air because it’s on my list
i went to REI Store to get fitted for a Fairview 40L and was the worst experience of a sporting goods store ever. Didnt have the bag or made a suggestion for anything else. i walked out
Thank you for this great review! No review I have seen has mentioned those back markers for the adjustment which is genius!
Thank you Luciansteph!!
👍🏽👍🏽 I had noticed that too. Thanks for watching! 😊
Thanks for your very thorough review! When it’s time to look for a new backpack, I’ll keep this one in mind.
Thanks for this! Great review with details others aren't mentioning. :)
Thanks for watching!
Good review. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you. It’s the travel.
What color is that??
Zircon Red
Mine didn’t come with any laptop compartments, just the one large pocket?
Did it come with two bags? If so, it sounds like you have the the Osprey Farpoint 55L. I have the Farview 40L, 1 bag

Oh dear. So sorry to hear about your experience. Yeah this and can be hard to find in store. Hope you’re able to find one soon.
