Looking at the test footage, its so funny because so many youtubers will tell you that this old of a camera cant handle color grading or the footage is outdated or complain about the codec but looking at it, i see no difference from modern cinema cameras. Which clients will have no clue that this camera is 10 years old. Just proves that all the hype on specs is mostly all hype and only seen by the 1% of people in the industry. you clearly show that a 10 year old camera is very much usable in 2024.
just edited some casual footage from a night out with my friends and the image the c100's kick out never ceases to impress me. and because of the battery life, small files sizes, built in ND, and lack of needing to really rig it out makes me actually want to go shoot with it. also built like a tank
I use ninja 2 atomos set to 29.97 and set my internal c100 mkii to 59.94 and get Both slow mo and full speed for nature film. I can swap both on timeline because c100 mkii only outputs a progressive in interlace signal and atomos can pull the 29.97 out giving me true 59.94 on c100 card and 29.97 on sddrive prores.
I have a c100 MK I with the Dual Pixel upgrade. It’s been my go to camera for about 5 years. I recently bought the BM6K G2 and although I like my new camera, I still prefer my c100. Not necessarily for the image but for the ease of use, run and gun and internal NDs. I’m never getting rid of my c100.
Dude so fire! send me the video once you film it. Im looking at a black magic Ursa mini 4k right now for 750. XLR ports are makings static the guy said which sounds like an easy enough fix.
@@epochfilmandphoto I love it I can film a whole wedding with two batteries or one battery most of the time. Thanks for making this video though I feel like people should know more about this camera.
@@epochfilmandphoto strangely I rented out my BM 6K this month precisely because it was 6K and gave them flexibility for both portrait and landscape shots. I agree 4K is plenty for most things - although I've seen some use 6K cams as an alternative/addition to stills for weddings Coincidentally they've even ditched 4K for a big sports event over in the UK, although still have some 1080P HDR broadcasts.
It's a great camera - I bought mine when it had the first drop to around 3K, and a bargain now. The dual card recording is brilliant - especially for events I found out fairly recently about the custom buttons being able to do everything - mapping the switch to 50/60i on that is a great shortcut to switch between regular speed and slow motion. I still can't quite work out why everything is in an interlaced wrapper though.
@@epochfilmandphoto thanks for doing the video - I've had quite good results with Topaz VideoAI upscaling too, and it has some really good re-timing tools too. It's great to see people pushing what a 12 year old camera can do
I've had my mk2 for two years. Lots of improvements over the mk1. Shoot in progressive 25/30fps or 50/60fps to MP4 or AVCHD. Dual Pixel Autofocus as standard. Improved adjustable viewfinder and fully articulated screen to name a few. If you are considering a C100 I recommend the mk2.
@@Webrisernl It depends what you want to shoot with it. Only you can decide if it's right for you. For me it was the perfect choice. I did spend a lot of time looking at a wide variety of UA-cam videos from the reviews to samples of footage before buying it. I also found a great deal on Ebay with a low hours camera and all the accessories. I bought the EF-S 18-135mm IS STM lens in excellent condition from MBP.
What lens and camera are you using for your talking head. I can't hear it at the moment. I'm assuming you are shooting on the camera you are talking about with a wide lens.
Literally just unboxing my “new” C100 Mk II as I watch this 🎉
how you like it so far?
If a camera manufacturer just took this body and updated the internals it’d be game over!
Yea that’s what I was hoping the c70 would be. I don’t like the body style of the c70/80.
They did, its called the C300 MK2/Mk3.

So long as you dial in your lighting, HD will serve you well.
Just bought a c300 with af for 350 ! It works perfectly I want to do a video like this with a one day project . Managed to balance it on my rs3 pro !

Wauw I love the footage... its very filmlike.. I have a canon r6 mkii.. do I need this cinema camera?
This camera or the bmpcc4k is a hell of a deal for beginners on a budget.
Totally agree or even the Canon EOS R if you are also a photographer.
MEGA CAMERA. AWESOME DEAL.
I bought this for filming super simple weddings and events.
How do you like it?

Nice video 👏🏼… I would definitely like to see a video on the Slo mo conversion. Also, have you done upscale to 4k? Keep up the good work.
Yeah, me too
We hit a peak around 10 years ago in terms of image quality. Now it's just diminishing returns.
Yes and no. I still think when it comes to Dynamic Range there is room for improvement. I do agree with you on resolution though. 4K is plenty.

how about the c100 mkii ? I see them for sale for 800 euros.
