4:45 This practically has no effect against tandem warheads, like the Javelin. The missile uses two charges to defeat ERA, a smaller primary charge detonates first against reactive armor, taking it out before the second and much larger charge detonates next, actually causing the damage.
True but there are also lots of non tandem (not sure what the word for that would be, single?) warheads in use too. They used an RPG for that demonstration and ERA works pretty well against those, although some of them also have tandem warheads too now.
The reduced crew size allows for more space to carry cannisters of Copium for Russians to imagine these tanks actually meet spec. All reports currently are that the tank crews refuse to use the T14 because they break down and jam up but no one is trained to use them so cannot quickly fix the issues. Until these are actually seen outside of parades we may as well be discussing Imperial Guard Leman Russ tanks from Warhammer 40k.
I would think that problem is to be expected, it’s a new system and their old training pipeline relied on being able to use the same or very similar systems that were simply modified to keep up with the Americans. Makes sense why the T-14 being so different from more traditional designs wouldn’t have a proper training pipeline set up for it yet.

If the T-14 armata’s auto loader is anything similar to that of the T-72 or the T-90. Then it’ll likely be another turret popper in the Russian army’s arsenal. EDIT: It’s likely that this is the same case with the T-14 Armata judging by its design. It’s turret isn’t big enough to store a large quantity of tank ammunition, and since the tank crew takes up the front space of the tank and the engine occupies the back of the tank, it very likely that the tank ammunition of the T-14 Armata, is store right beneath its turret. Just like with all the Russian tanks to date since the Cold War.
But now it is seperated from the crew to protect them. Then again it's Russia so anything could still go, like the Moskva and it's theoretical "air defense system". Watch lazerpig's video for how functional their Black Sea Flagship is when they went to war.
Another modern russian tank is the 2S25 Sprut-SD/M1 light airborne tanks, they are one of the few new generation light tanks being produce in the 21st century. As most countries have abandoned the light tank concept in favor of the IFV's. Also the Kurganets-25 IFV, the T-14 of russian IFV's.
IFV like the CV90 are just as powerful as any light tank. The 25 mm autocannon of a Bradley can kill most of the Soviet models, imagine what this baby can do with any of the 35 - 40 or 50 mm it can use. No lack of this type of vehicles. A big gun is not always needed if you can carry a few anti-tank missiles and a drone.
IMHO, the most plausible theory as to why the T-14 has not been mass-produced yet rests on two main factors: 1- The tank demonstrated in 2014 was a pre-production model, which was tested in Syria circa 2019, after which some modifications were made to it's hull armor and side skirts. But otherwise the Tank is still undergoing additional testing before it sees mass production, which is typical of any brand-new weapons system. 2- Russia has prioritized the modernization of its huge T-72B fleet to T-72B3M standards, and it's smaller but still substantial T-90A fleet to T-90M standards, which would allow them to extend the T-72s service life by another decade and the T-90's by another two. It's a "bird in hand" type of situation, if you must, especially when Ural Vagon Zavod's production capacity is taken into account.
Now you've done a video on the T14 the next gen MBT, I suggest you should do a video on the Centurion Mk 1, the first MBT, it was supposed to fight in wwii
it's amazing that russia has been able to design a tank that is totally invulnerable to anything else on the battlefield. Of course that's because it's never going to actually make it onto one
I think the AbramsX layout is more efficient. Similar to the Armata, but ammo is in the bustle not the hull, providing room for the crew to go into the turret to fix any problem with the main gun and machine guns. Plus it’s useful for the commander to stick his head out of the turret when he needs it.

Where are the cameras located. It seems like without the cameras the tanks would be much more vulnerable to attack. Assuming they have several around the tank.
The T-14 Armata is a Russian main battle tank based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform. The Russian Army initially planned to acquire 2,300 T-14s between 2015 and 2020. By 2018, production and fiscal shortfalls delayed this to 2025, before Russia announced the apparent cancellation of the main show run on 30 July 2018. However, as of 2021, the Russian state-owned TASS media agency claimed the Armata had been expected to begin serial production in 2022, with the delivery of a test batch of 100 to the 2nd Guards Tamanskaya Motor Rifle Division expected to begin in 2022. The tanks are planned to only be officially transferred after completing all state tests. In December 2021 the Russian state conglomerate Rostec stated that serial production had commenced, with "more than 40" Armata tanks anticipated to be delivered to Russian troops after 2023.
Sure, the Armata looks good - on paper, but given the Russian limitations with high-tech systems I very much doubt that it's anything more than a paper tiger. The crew may be fairly well protected, but I doubt the effectiveness of the anti-missile defences and think that top-down attack munitions will still kill these tanks. They retain the auto-loader/carousel system and will be just as vulnerable to ammo cooking off after being hit as their older tanks. No hatches or blast panels means their turrets will fly high when hit.
I would see myself driving a T14 Armata. The designs are super sharp. For me really, the bells and whistles on it bring a lot of revolutionary innovations. Sure the treads would leave some scratches on the pavement. All it needs are some cameras for the blind spots, cameras for the front and rear of the tank, and you have a custom tank. Put some rubber tank tread pads, and thr tank can be more traversable. With some precision maneuvering. The name i would put for my ideal tank, the karen hunter

IMHO, the most plausible theory as to why the T-14 has not been mass-produced yet rests on two main factors:
1- The tank demonstrated in 2014 was a pre-production model, which was tested in Syria circa 2019, after which some modifications were made to it's hull armor and side skirts.

For each Armata that gets built, a thousand aluminum garbage cans go missing.
I heard that updated version includes compartments for stolen toilets and washing machines!
@@Lonech Armata's problems are in the power plant, an opticolocation complex and an incoming projectile detection system. These problems were identified during tests in Syria, the tank has not yet been put into service and the contract for the production of more than 145 units (30 units in total) has been suspended due to outstanding debts of the plant.
It was just in the news that Armata will not be mass produced, as the factory for it is empty of machinery. Sanctions prevented the start of the production, as said machines were supposed to be Western, and even with those, lack of electrical components were the final nail to the coffin. Those already existing were so expensive to make, as they are hand built, that the whole project has been shelved at least for now. So, Armata is the Paper Kitten of the Paper Tiger. A promising curiosity.
Russia says it has 20 of these, ten are proto types according to Russia.

We are in 2023 and they still haven't made more than a handfull for parade
As each time in Russia and old Soviet Block...*Great ideas, big ambitions...but still running old stuff*
All we know so far about T-14 is what Russia said out it can do,but how many of these things can it actually do is a massive mistery
Russia is in no hurry to bring the latest tanks to the battlefield when there are many old tanks. Even the T90 appeared in Ukraine only at the end of the first year of the war. War requires a mass product, in this regard, the Armata is not the best tank for a large-scale war, but rather for small conflicts.

Great video, it's on paper a nice tank but too little in known about it. It definitly has quite a bit of nice features to it, but the numbers are just too little to have an impact. And since russian doctrine is more about numbers than about survivalbility or technology I guess we won't see a lot of them in action.
Well the tank is similar to the t64 in regards of doctrine it being a more technologically advance then it’s closed Russian counterparts
Russia still fights like it's WW2.
The t14 is a change in doctrine from their previous vehicles that's why it's modular and has mbt spg ifv variants etc
@@sam8404 and now they are inching so much closer to the T-34 once the T-55's they're fielding now get blasted to smitherenes by drone data linking or some other funny artillery.

Lol, so it does. Good spotting.
Ah, the stealth capabilities of this tank are insane! They are nowhere to be seen! (Except being towed in military parades)
Scrolled down a bit to see a similar comment. *Not so sneaky*
Lol the tank drove away under its own power after *attempting* to tow the tank (which had its brakes accidentally engaged by the driver who wasn’t able to train on the vehicle)
Even if it will hit the front, it most likely end up like that Terminator tank.
yup, Russian army cant even use its own equipment how it was designed. The Terminator should have been used in a close infantry support role and in an urban environment, that's exactly what it was designed for. But what did they do with it? they left it in a wide open field and it got shelled.
1:50 Not necessarily: if you have a rear vehicle with the same chassis as a frontline tank, that's a lot of material you need to maintain it as opposed to a light vehicle chassis.
Plus the extra fuel requirements, tank is useless if your enemy is destroying your fuel trucks and depos for sport like Ukraine.

T 14 is a crude prototype that was not even put into production
Hardly a new threat. They're sending out T72 turrets slapped onto T64 chassis, and old naval auto-cannons onto old soviet -era APCs.
Most probably the absense of those tanks in an actual warfare may be caused by two factors: распил and откат
Ah yes… T14 Armata, The best parade Tank!
The T-14 armata is starting to become a pipe dream for the Russian military seeing that it’s still not in active service and how it still is constantly falling short of its demands. The first time this tank showed itself during the parade, one of them ended up breaking down in the middle of the parade rehearsals and had to be towed away. And even if 132 have supposedly been delivered, it’s likely that only around of tenth of that are fully operational. Yet the ones that are apparently operational are still in the pre-production phase. And with Russia being heavily sanctioned since the war in Ukraine, it’s very unlikely that we’ll even see more of these rolling off the production lines anytime soon since Russia relies on western components for the military equipment, including its most modern ones like the T-14.
Witch components say please. And names of components?

Strengths- Advanced weapons, electronics, stealth, armour, speed and superiority to all other tanks on the battlefield.
Weaknesses- Doesnt exist.
1:52 is NOT the Terminator 3.
not only does the tank not exist, but their show model broke down at the parade lmao. its another autoloader mess with the same armor and issues with the majority of the t model fleet. the "softkill hardkill system" is yet to be tested or shown to work, sort of like the IF dazzlers on the t80
Can't wait for a drone strike renders it useless
The armada did not break down, the driver accidentally pressed the e-brake button which essentially works as a hand brake due to having no training on the vehicle as a result of its classified nature. If it actually broke down, then the recovery vehicle should have been able to tow it away, but as we see in the footage it remained braked in place. Furthermore, the vehicle drove away under its own power after a bit of fussing around. Inform yourself next time before you spread misinformation. And autoloaders are always better than human loaders as long as they do not present a risk to the crew. In this case, it doesn’t, because the turret is unmanned and the ammunition and engine is stored in a completely seperate compartments from the crew
Given the quality of all else Russian the past year I'm going to assume these are actually cardboard and have pedals for the crew.

@Simple History
Just to be clear, you mentioned that western tanks use a four man crew while the T-14 has a crew of three. The three man crew is not new to Russian/Soviet tanks. Russian/Soviet tanks have been using three man crews and auto loaders for the main gun since the mid to late 1960s. The first tank to use a three man crew with an auto loader was the T-64 and every Russian tank has used those two features ever since. The only thing that is new about the T-14 is the unmanned turret (for an actual production tank anyway).
He never said it was new?what is your point lmao
T-14 is too expensive for mass production right now.
T-90AM (A for Active defense, M for Modified tank) is way easier to produce.
doesnt M stand for modernized?
lol dude cut the BS A means alpha as the T-90A was an upgrade of the original T-90 and M is a modernization of A therefore AM.
