Lyrics:
listen to the ringing in your ears
the scrambled voices of your fears
whispering, whispering
listen to the sound of your heart beat
growing louder gaining speed
you’re breathing out, breathing in
these nights i don’t know how i survive
pacing across the room while she’s asleep
tears raining down your cheeks
trying to hold, trying to hold on
praying even though you don’t believe
just in case they are received
by anyone, anyone
these nights i don’t know how i survive
listen to the ringing in your ears
the scrambled voices of your fears
whispering, whispering

Man this may be one of their best songs ever! Anyone else already listened to this 20 times? lol!
Same here mate, obsessed with this song. Definitely my fave from the album!
The best on the album for sure. Love the bipolar contrast
Same!! It definitely enters their top 10 for me
100 times now!
dude he repeats the same thing over and over again, the guitar line is good but chill
When Walla left, I was so afraid that Death Cab's music would lose the interesting guitar work that made them so unique. Two albums later and I've just learned how much credit I wasn't give Ben for his playing.
Just saw them a week ago...they opened with this song, it was a great show and I can't think of a better opening tune.
Same. What amazed me was how much I liked their newer stuff which I havent really listened to much (last two albums). But honestly I liked thie rnewer stuff even better than their older.
Saw them yesterday and they opened with this song too
Saw them last night, same opening song. Awesome
I have been an avid fan of this band since I heard soul meets body when I was 11 years old. Their music taught me how to feel and be a human being again. At my lowest point, this band saved my life. I was going to end my life and their music came across my playlist, I put down the pills and just sobbed. When I say this band saved my life, they really stopped me from ending it all. I owe everything in my life to them for simply making music and I doubt they know just how life changing their music was for me.
glad you're still around friend
That guitar hook is so damn catchy
I don't know how I survive either, but one thing's for sure: Death Cab For Cutie's music help a lot. ♥
My partner described when the distortion hits at 1:47 as "A Death Cab For Cutie Jumpscare"
Haha, perfect
Yeah it’s nice to get a lil sympathomimetic/epinephrine/norepinephrine release from DCFC, it’s usually my source for more parasympathomimetic vibes ya feel me
The chorus is so so good
Oh wow, I remember being a fan of death cab for cutie since I was in 4th grade. Music was a big outlet and youtube and Fuze network instilled a drive and passion for music I literally grew up listening to this band and now as an adult this song is moving me to tears truly music to stand the test of time
This is hands down one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life and I've listened to music all day long for the past ten years
Same here buddy!
Same here guy.
*is 10
@@Hahahahaaahaahaa what the fuck are you talking about mate
I just started listening to your music. This is a new level in my life. I love your music. Thank you guys so much.
You have a ton of phenomenal albums to listen too!!! You need to UA-cam just Ben Gibbard by himself, start with "Something's Rattling", my absolute favorite! Cheers!!!
@@capt.saveahoe914 thanks man.
I’m excited for you, death cab is a one of a kind with incredible lyrics and execution. ❤️
Listening to the whole album now, absolutely killer. Thanks Death Cab!
As a long time death cab fan this is great. Very well done guys.
yesss it’s here
I bought this CD about 12 days ago & listened to it about 7 times on a trip to Colorado & another 5 times on the way back home to Minnesota. Thanks for the great tunes.
What a fucking album opener! I can't stop listening and singing this as loud as I can in my house!
Ben, you haven't lost your touch and probably never will.
Now this is how you start an album!
That opening riff... bone chiller
Definitively DC4C, yes yes, fresh and refreshing, yes oh yes --- old school cool
Such a nostalgic song, we needed this album post covid, thank you DCFC....
Oh hell this sounds so good
Saw you guys in North Charleston, SC October 8. Due to unforeseeable circumstances I was late like 15 minutes. Just got there like the song before HERE TO FOREVER. But , don't you worry you CUTIES. I just got tickets for both Florida shows lol. Thank's for coming to Florida DCFC. You all take care of yourselves. Thank you for the music , and all involved in setting up the show. Thank's to all involved in DCFC. Including the fans. Cheers m8. I also bought 3 Tshirts to support the band. Thank you again DCFC. The words in your music has helped many of us throughout the years. Bless you all.
Once again i miss the days when i had to go to a record store with my friends to get a new album. Seeing it thrown out into the (youtube-)street like a carton of old newspapers is a shame. But that’s the internet age.
❤❤❤❤❤ This made my day. Thank you DCFC!
Absolutely amazing, so looking forward to seeing them live in Amsterdam next year!
Where's my hardcore deathcab fans !!!! These dudes our the reason I play indie music they saved my life 🎵🎶🎶🌎🙏🙂🎨🌍 ...
Old school death cab is back 🖤🖤
👍
I've been an absolute Death Cab fanatic since 2003.
Fan since 98/99. I was on livejournal and I’d trade CDs with people on a channel to learn new songs. I’ve loved most the evolution of death cab and they always impress. Loving the somewhat lowfi feeling again mixed with their newer sound
I guess Seth Cohen would approve it
If you're able on your device or streaming service; set your crossfade fon 5s to 7s if you're listening to it on repeat.
Such a great song getting so excited to see them at home in Seattle
Sonic layers, so good!
My 3rd Death Cab concert is coming next month!!!!!!
i love how experimental this is
It's SO GOOD
I really don't know how I survived
Great album ❤
Eles nunca perdem a sua essência 💚
Bixby Canyon Bridge vibes but with more longing. What a vibe.
So fresh
realy great one
One of the best song writers of our generation
love itttt
Alright this song needs a music video, for real
huge Pinback feel
Pinback fan here, could you please elaborate? I never though about that. The only resemblance I can feel is to Expo 86, a little there towards the end.
@@JonatanGGomes Yeah, not seeing it either.
Oh yes
It's my favoriteeeeee
How am I just finding out they released a new album 2 weeks ago
I knew about it and only listened to it last week lol, so idiot I love it
🔥
Best one on ☺️
Maravillosa forma de parar el tiempo, me ha encantado
Nice
These nights I don’t know how I survive 🎶
Wow
Got to see a few of the news ones live the day before this was released. Made me long for the days when you'd wait in line at the merch booth to buy the new CD and blast it on the way home!
Here's a few new songs along with some catalog gems. ua-cam.com/play/PLpZDUD_r1eX9TY_SLDxHVYKUg4n0GFSaJ.html
I'm here because Jxdn recommend your song ❤️
Damn this shit is funky
probably your best song since codes and keys. Was just listening to "Bend to Squares" after it came on randomly and decided to see what the new album sounds like. I am pleasantly surprised. Still feels like the vocals are simplistic and basic compared to anything pre-Codes and Keys though.
I do believe, and it helps, it’s still hard, but it helps.
Ahhhhhhh So gooooood! I'll see you in MADISON!
@Ben Gibbard The pleasure is mine! I'll see you in Milwaukee!!
@Ben Gibbard Very! Y'all are amazing. I love the new album, and got a foxglove tattoo on my forearm because of it. Thank you so much for everything and being you!
My new top 5 Death Cab records
1. We have the Facts
2. The Photo Album
3. Transatlanticism
4. Plans
5. Asphalt Meadows
goated list
Whats the best songs on asphalt?
What about Narrow Stairs??
This reminds me of Weezer
in some weird way, I can hear it, but there's some serious old Death Cab vibes sprinkled evenly over it as well.
First time listening to this song and it’s already hypnotic 😊🎶❤️😊🎶❤️
Jumpscare at 0:50
Pity that WALLA aint in band anymore...
Truth. He was the sound. You can really tell the difference without him.
UA-cam keeps removing this song from my liked list
Not really a good headphone track, cause that +15 DB change is enough to knock you outta your chair.
This song makes me wish my headphones could go up more
Hey Ben. Okay. Bye Ben
Desde argentina... una basura el video. Toso comercial. Una lastima
Highest of the nice
Nice
